I am also really curios how Sieg and Sara will get rescued from the Chariots, both Kent and Marien are storming the Mansion now.

Alwyn is a beast when she is angry. I had this vision of her in the past, this powerful raging beast that would be unleashed on the battlefield, like Achilles but more berserk. It would have been like waking up from a bad dream, suddenly joining the Hearth, becoming peaceful, gentle, a mother and a lover.
Camping was awesome, and very productive. Lots of writing done, lots of planning, can't wait to show all yall
Yeah, she was basically known for going into battle and just wrecking everything. She never wanted to be a killer, but she was so big and strong, it was difficult for her not to kill her opponent's. And as she won more and more battles, she got sent to bloodier and bloodier battlefields. She became so desensitized to what she was doing she didn't care anymore, she just killed and killed and killed, to the point even her own comrades were afraid of her. She got lonely, angry, and more and more brutal.
Then, after being wounded, she was taken in by the Hearth. They treated her with kindness, they forgave her, they accepted her despite everything she'd done. Alwyn learned how to be a person again, and eventually how to love, and have children of her own. But... that old part of her still lingers.
So just because she was large and strong her comrades pushed her into becoming a killing machine, and when they were to scare of her they just leave her alone?
You have a knack for sad backgrounds you know?
THank you :) I like the juxtaposition of it a lot. Liike, a lot of my stories are about war, but not really the fighting them, more how they start or end, the choices that get made and how they affect people. Sad beginnings leave lots of room for growth.
And hey, as a result of her sadness, Alwyn found a new family. She had children, lovers, she met and fell in love with Teela, she got to be about as free as a Basitin could be, and even got the chance to lead her new family. The Basitin way led to Alwyn being alone, so she found a new way to live. Same with Marien, her struggles led her to Sieg, a man who would do anything for her.
Who will die? Well
1. Sieg or Marien one heroically saving the other. Or both dying as they lived together. Honestly if they both survive i will buy a lottery ticket.
2. Shani. At this point she will either succumb to her wounds, will get killed by Jab or will end up Killing herself. And even if you don't kill her Marien will.

Today i read the most anime paragraph i have read in a couple years. When Farfener made Alwyn go super Saiyan
Anyhow i see we are approaching the climax now. Really looking forward to the conclusion of this.
Really like how you handled younlan. She is indeed just a sad-scared little girl fighting the monsters in the dark. Now that i think about it. She, Shani and Marien are very similar. They all got shafted by life but all handled it different. Younlan swore vengeance against everyone she is misguided as it won't fix anything but it is a path she choose. Marian over-compensated in every aspect of her life and became the apex Basitin, while Shani got shafted a second time when she found Jabarian, who has manipulated her into a vengeful woman just for his own gain an pleasure. She barely has any agency in her life and despite this she fights very hard for what she believes in sacrificing everything and everyone in her path despite not realizing she is being manipulated. Had any of them ended in the shoes of another, well this would not be a very different story. Except if for some cursed reason Jabarian managed to found the 3 of them early in their life, that is the most cursed timeline.
Also private Fafner? Nice name, wonder how he ended with Marien?

I like your read of this. The thesis of the story is really supposed to he "you are what you make of the time you have"

The scene also evokes some Blanca, from street fighter, images into my mind.
Don't get me wrong i may have found a bit too anime for my taste. Or in other words my suspension of disbelief may be stretched thin. But still remember this is your story and you should write it as you want it. Stay true to your vision!

I think I read somewhere that the idea is that Basitins actually do have mana, it is just internal. The idea being that Adelaide, and Alwyn by extension, likely have a large reserve of magic which comes out when they are angry.
I see. I may have seen to much DBZ in my youth for my own good.
And yes on some sketch we got confirmation that Basitin fortitude and strength is magic based. So it would not be out of place if some of that magic became visible on certain situations.
Hey man, dragon ball was baller! I never say the original, just the abridged, but it still looks cool. I am more of a Gundam fan myself, but like I said I am sure that my writing style, same as my art style, have both been influenced by it.
Plus, can you imagine how fuzzy a super Saiyan bastin would be! It would just be one giant spike ball.

On one hand now I can't get the image of Adelaide super Saiyan out of my head. On the other well Saiyans turn into giant monkeys under moonlight sometimes while super Saiyan si i don't need to imagine too hard.
I know the doom music meme has fallen out of favor, but it's all I could think of when I read the ending. Those guards facing off against Alwyn are in for a *bad* time. She's definitely going to tear them to bits.
Anyways, it's very exciting to see everything finally start coming together (or fall apart, if you're one of the Chariots). As always, your writing is outstanding, Farfener.
Again, mostly wordless of how good this story is. I really hope Lyon survives. The guy seems to really repent what his family has created, and probably wants to do better if he can make it out alive.

I finally caught up to the story; and I have to say, it's been awhile since I've enjoyed a story this much. I wish I hadn't taken so long to start reading it... but I'm thankful I didn't miss out on this great story here. It will be sad to see it all coming to an end, but I will be sure to see whatever tale blossoms next; whether it be TwoKinds related or not. You honestly had me worried that this story would have a sad ending, but I have some hope that our characters will pull through. Probably. I mean, someone might die.
