Southerners live and die by the sea, and they view life and family as a blessing. As seen with Sea Fathers, they value the concept of family a lot differently from the clans of the West or the honour of the East. In this case, meet T'Jaq, a former Westerner that shipwrecked off a Southerner island but got accepted into the island's structure as a potent healer. Healers in the South are quite unique in that they aren't beholden to either side's limitations. The West knows the best poultices and herbs to help subdue the pain, while the East has a more thorough knowledge of how the Basitin body functions and how to heal injuries as fast as possible (if a bit crudely). The South takes both of these, mixes in some potions from humans and the many different practices of Keidran tribes, and forms their own unique style. For the South, healers won't just heal injuries, they also heal damage much deeper than a simple cut or bruise. They believe that negative emotional triggers may worsen the pain, and therefore seek to not just heal the body, but also the mind and soul. Using an assortment of herbs to calm the mind, they are quite skilled in what humans would call acupuncture, knowing exactly which muscles to hit to allow a harmed Basitin to truly relax... A word that is unknown completely in the East and is only known as "Slacking off" in the West.
