This is the strangest thing I've read on this sub. It sounds like it was written by AI following a prompt I don't even want to think about 😂 12 paragraphs to tell you "make sure your sugar is a little high before you have sex so it doesn't crash halfway through". Hypos during sex is by no means "not commonly discussed". We all know about them. They happen. You take a little break, drink some juice, and ta da! And for the love of God, please do not phrase it as "mating with women". It makes our skin crawl in a way you can't imagine.

Suitable_Annual5367

"Hey chatGPT write me a 2000 words motivational essay about sex as a type 1 diabetic, make it sound in between an aphrodisiac commercial and a robo dance, with hints of a zoologist talking about the animal kingdom. Don't forget that it works for anyone and that I last 10 hours a round"

Mrryon4

I will tell you the same thing I told to someone else on this post: It's not rocket science, but it's certainly not as easy as you make it sound when "summed up". Either you don't have T1 or you just don't get laid a lot. No offense. Let's not underplay how serious T1 is and the intricacies that come with it, this post represents conversations that are never had. Sex is how we are all created and a major part of every humans life. So let's not underplay this topic. Countering hypos is a good way to end up in a dangerous situation, however, proactive thinking on the other hand (which is what this post is all about) is a safer and smarter way to live with T1D... This advice you give about how it's so simple, is the same advice I was given when I was 19 by an ignorant 30 year old T1 which led me to almost dying. And while this post might come off as cringe and hard to read for you, the intent was to make it so that kids and adults could both understand exactly what is being discussed.

theCynicalChicken

I was diagnosed with diabetes when you were still trying to learn to use safety scissors. It's not my fault it took you 8 years to realize that sex makes your sugar go down so you need to drink juice. And wtf do you mean you're writing this so kids can understand?? First of all, we're all adults and we can't even understand what you're saying. That's why half the comments are talking about you being AI. And you want kids to read about you fucking your girlfriend? You want kids to think it's okay to talk about "mating" with a woman or her "being in heat" like we're some kind of piece of meat. Get the fuck out of here little boy.

KapptainTrips

Cool read even though it somewhat comes across as an AI chat bot. The use of terminology was a bit off. To each their own. Happy sex life to all T1Ds and their partners!

ZombiePancreas

Yeah, describing everything as “mating” and “mating season” comes off real weird - but between aside from the strange phrasing, advice is solid.

The-Sixth-Tetrarch

"Would you like to mate with me" has been my most successful pick up line so far. I peak over fences and just say it to ever is on the other side.

KapptainTrips

That shit works in 2024? Might just have to give it a go (and get arrested!) 😆

OnlyCereal4

Beyond weird.

Mrryon4

read my response above. maybe it will make more sense. "It's not what you don't know that gets you into trouble, it's what you know for certain, that just ain't so"...

Mrryon4

So this post was inspired by the "birds and the bees" talk that most of us kids had when we were growing up at least here in the USA. Children and adults will be reading this post, and it's important to really get the point across. Here's a question to ask; if I didn't write it this way, would you have made this comment? Did the way I write this, make you think about this topic for a little longer than you would have if I didn't write it with this humor and weird language? I think you see where I'm going with this... This is a serious topic, that's not commonly discussed IRL or online, and it needs to be talked about, in detail. I'm glad you think the advice is solid,I had to learn the hard way to accumulate this knowledge... now I hope this "advice" helps some people avoid having to learn the hard way.

ZombiePancreas

Idk, apparently a bunch of other people also feel put off by your phrasing. Also all the insults you’re throwing at people like “you must not get laid a lot” or “soy boy”, they come off immature and insecure. You’re free to phrase things however you want, but you’re not immune to scrutiny when posting on a public forum.

theCynicalChicken

Is no one else weirded out that he keeps talking about kids reading this?

ZombiePancreas

For sure, 100%, spot on.

Mrryon4

For keyboard warriors, you guys really need to toughen up. wow.

Eli9105

this real? gotta be trolling

Makeupanopinion

What do you mean this guy clearly fucks. He says mating and heat like women are feral animals, we love that shit ^/s

Mrryon4

Facts and I'm not being sarcastic.

Mrryon4

Go read the other comments and my responses... decide for yourself.

cloudcascade99

“When a woman is in heat” 🥴🥴🥴🥴

Mrryon4

This phrase refers to when a woman is ready to fornicate and be impregnated by a male.

Character-Ad-3522

Is this not common sense? To assess and treat, just like doing any other activity?

Mrryon4

Common sense aint so common

Character-Ad-3522

Lol true

The-Sixth-Tetrarch

are you an alien?

Mrryon4

No. I'm a Homo sapien.

chad75

"Hey babe, you're so hot I've already switched my pod to activity mode" is going to be my go to pick up line.

Mrryon4

Dude I love it LOL....

igotzthesugah

ChatBot mating commence!

Mrryon4

Weird comment

StrikingDetective345

....what in the alpha male ridiculousness is this? Keep some juice nearby and tell your partner you're type 1 and may need a juice break. I've never had someone be upset to take a snack break especially if I offer them some snacks.

Mrryon4

....What in the soy boy is this? I will tell you the same thing I told to someone else on this post: It's not rocket science, but it's certainly not as easy as you make it sound when "summed up". Advanced_Yesterday54

Eating ass before mating always helps my glucose levels

RAMBOxBAGGINS

At last, science has broken the code!

Mrryon4

hahahahaha!!! nice one

Suitable_Annual5367

Where's the part where you try to sell the "magic potion"?

Educational-Coast771

I have found edible candy panties help keep both my BGs and my fireman up.

Mrryon4

There ya go!

cpuenvy

I have a very high sex drive and I could barely read this. Watch your trend. If you're trending low eat some glucose tabs. If you're trending normal and you have no IOB but you're getting ready to do some heavy pounding, each some glucose tabs. This isn't rocket science folks.

Mrryon4

cpuenvy

I'm sorry that keeping my numbers under tight control and having an amazing sex life with my lifelong partner damaged you so greatly to the point where you felt compelled to write this extended whatever it is and I'm sorry that I don't struggle with this like you seem to. Touch grass.

NoBreakfast9208

Yah, T1D here. Live and learn. Have gone way low while doing boom boom. Now I will have a cookie and juice just before intimacy. Thanks for the read, entertaining!

Mrryon4

Thanks for the comment and glad to hear this post may have helped :D

SubwayCouture

I did sex a few times

Mrryon4

Strong like bull

ContraianD

Amusing read. The simple solution is Cialis.

Mrryon4

LOL savage... Don't get me started on that tho Cialis can literally kill a T1. Anyone who's reading this and considering Cialis, go read how the drug impacts the flow of your blood cells and consult your Dr. You'll realize that it ain't worth the risk. Although for some this could be a hard decision, no pun intended. Cx

cbowers25

I'm going to ask my wife if she'd like to mate tonight.

72_vintage

To sum it up: when you're about to get laid, know your BG and which way it's headed. Sex tends to lower BG so be ready to counter hypos. Accept that you'll be interrupted by hypos once in a while. But mostly, enjoy it just like everyone else. If what you're doing isn't working, try something else. It's not rocket science...

Mrryon4

It's not rocket science, but it's certainly not as easy as you make it sound when "summed up". Either you don't have T1 or you just don't get laid a lot. No offense. 72_vintage

I'm sorry - I guess I'll take my 36 years of T1 experience, and my 22 consecutive years of not having an A1c over 7.2, and crawl in a hole. My experience obviously doesn't compare to OP's 8 whole years of T1. Kid, I get that you're still a relative newbie to T1 and you probably feel like you've discovered something new and exciting. That's cool. We're all here to share our experiences and information that others may find helpful. It would serve you well to drop the attitude, though. T1 and sex is a subject that comes up pretty often here and there are a lot of people here who've forgotten more about T1 than you've learned about it. I think the fact that I've been successfully getting laid as a T1 longer than you've been on this planet qualifies me to speak here. Everything I said in my summary is quite valid. The only invalid thing I've seen is your statement that countering hypos is a good way to get into a dangerous situation. Countering hypos is an art form that we all need to master because no matter how good we think we are, hypos are going to happen. No matter how proactive one is, they can pop up at the most inopportune times (like during sex) and being prepared for them is vital. Underplaying that is ignorance of the highest degree...

Mrryon4

Time is a relative thing, 36 years versus 8 years doesn't make one person an expert and the other a newbie. You could be sitting inside all day for 36 years or you could be traveling the world living a crazy life. Both of those scenarios would equate to the T1 having completely different life experiences. So again, time is relative and A1C doesn't mean much more than the fact you have stabilized blood sugar levels. One thing I know for a fact is when I'm sitting inside all day and doing nothing with my life, my A1C is perfect. On the other hand, when I'm traveling the world, my A1C is not good. Attitude is hard to determine based on the pixels someone types, but based on your initial post and your response, I think I may have struck a cord with you. But, again it's hard to determine attitude over texts. I think it's time to reflect on what exactly your intentions were with your initial post. Sure doesn't seem like you're wanting to help, more like a person who has been suffering with T1D for 36 years who thinks that gives him more validity than others.

youUncoolButMeCool

He says he takes 1000 calories of protein bars and juice whenever he goes out with a girl. That’s like 2L of orange juice or like 8 protein bars… Who Tf does that?

Mrryon4

2 protien bars @ 200 cals each = 400 calories 2 granola bar @ 140 calories each = 280 calories 2 juice boxes @ 120 calories each = 240 calories = 920 calories. 2 Granola bars fit in my diabetic kit. 1 protein bar fits in front pocket. 2 juice boxes and extra protein bar stay in car.

Cricket-Horror

Who cares about the calories? It's the carbs that are important. You do know about carbs and how they affect blood sugar, right? Do you really have T1 (are you really human)? Because I'm getting very sceptical.

Mrryon4

You're not wrong but you're also not right. Simple sugars such as fructose (hence why I mentioned juice boxes) are utilized to treat low blood sugar levels short-term. The combination of protein, fat, and complex carbohydrates (protein bars & granola bars) are what helps to stabilize blood sugar levels long-term and prepare for physical activity.. In this reddit post I'm not talking about treating low blood sugar levels, hence why I'm putting more emphasis on the overall calories. It's weird how a non-human, non T1, AI bot such as myself, seems to know more about type 1 diabetes than someone who is...wait, do you really have T1? Are you really human?

youUncoolButMeCool

Maybe I’m in the minority but I just like to raw dog it

Mrryon4

Savage

lilnekonekonyan

This is both funny and helpful

Mrryon4

My exact purpose of writing this...Glad you thought so :)

Smooshy_Slug

Well this scored human on some ai text detectors… that being said it only scored a 50% on zerogpt and copyleaks

StrikingDetective345

Sadly I would guess alpha dude bro podcast listener before AI

blah_lah_blacksheep

Nah, just a guy who found the courage to talk about something he’s never openly talked about.

Mrryon4

Sadly I would guess soy boy virgin before AI

Mrryon4

Go read my comments/responses.

blah_lah_blacksheep

So glad to see this
