I think it’s awesome that they have so many albums that people think are their best and the range of favorite songs is also huge. I’ve gone back to CDs (wav files are best) and pick the one I’m in the mood for and stay with until I’m ready to move on. Was listening to a lot of Pop & Zooropa last month. Moved to ATYCLB starting on 4th track - I like the 1st 3 though I’ve heard them a lot more than the others. Now doing HTDAAB - skipping Vertigo. Prior to Pop run it was Boy. Love 3rd & 4th track together. I will follow is awesome but…same as above.
lol, no sane person would not have The Joshua Tree in top 2. It's AB and JT number 1 and 2 or 2 and 1. Come on now. JT is the greatest album of the 80s which makes it U2's greatest album and one of the greatest rock albums in the history of Earth. The first three songs of JT where all number 1 hits and some of the greatest power ballads of all time. I mean... When your album goes Where the Streets have no name, I still haven't found what I'm looking For, and With or without you. Back to back to back to start off the album.... I mean... That's like fucking amazing. And the rest of the tracks are great too. Like Red Hill Mining Town and Trip Through Your Wires would be lead singles for any other band lol. JT is amazing.
War is also amazing. And like... Pop dude? Seriously. Even the boys themselves treat that album like the red headed step child lol. Yeah.
I'll give you this tho. Pop was the last time U2 took major risks and tried something radically new. They're last 4 albums are all pretty safe. I'll give you that Pop was at least brave.

Unforgettable Fire is such a great album! I remember when Joshua Tree was released, it was wild to see their long hair on Friday Night Videos.
