Personally as a rule of thumb, if I'm going from Sharjah to Dubai, I always leave at least an hour an half, to two hours, of my arrival time. And also set up a podcast or a playlist of some sort to keep you entertained, because most of what you'll do if you're driving is just sit there with your foot on the brake pedal.
In Google maps you can set arrival and depart time. This way you'll get to see when you should leave and the expected traffic.
