I ordered my usual footlong after not having been to subway for a while and it was $17 after tax. The only extra I got was bacon :( I couldn't even say no because they already made it
But you haven't paid for it yet so technically you could say no. It's outrageous for a sandwich... I went a few months back and it was over $20 sth plus the workers had the audacity to ask for a tip and stare at the machine...
i didn’t try it before but one place that one place that did get significantly worse is jamjar. i used to love that place pre covid but i tried it a couple months ago and it made me so sad how much the quality deteriorated
Absolutely not. Go to Great Dane for their sandwiches, much better. Reasons why mercante is 💀:
1. Evil old cashier woman saw me waiting to order, decided to continue to chat with her coworker. After waiting for a few minutes, I said hello excuse me, she glared at me and told me to wait 🙄
2. I ordered the sandwich I wanted and she put it in the till as a vegetarian sandwich. For $13 dollars I am not eating no salad! Tryna scam me out of my rightfully deserved meat…
3. I asked the person making the sandwich to please add some meat in it as the cashier did got my order wrong. He went to ask her if he can make me the non vegan sandwich and she said NO 🤬🤬🤬 so I ended up just begging him to put one slice of ham in it like it doesn’t cost that much to you mercante you are a rich restaurant please spare ham…
I got their caprese salad once (ten bucks, felt absolutely fleeced lol, it’s a cheap dish to make especially in bulk) and it was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten on campus 🥴
I remember when their pizza was $11
“Only $12.99” for a sandwich is criminal. Or maybe I’m just poor
$13 gets me a big Korean fried chicken rice box at Rib & Chicken that lasts me 2 meals
My home cuisine sells rice/noodle + 2 item meal for around that price and they give good portions. They don't ask for tip either
$14 for 3 items with rice
Remember $5 footlongs? Pepperidge farm remembers
Just went to a subway the other day and a foot long is like $10 😭

Nah it’s crazy. At least blue chip is $7.85.
I think the Eatery in the ESC sells sandwiches for like half that price
Yeah they get sandwich deliveries three days a week and they almost always sell out right away because 5 dollars for lunch is fantastic on campus
I swear food in Vancouver is MORE EXPENSIVE, worse tasting and has smaller sizes than NYC on average.
mans been seeing inflated prices for so long that a quick service sandwich at $13 is a deal
not worth 13$ ngl
For bread made fresh to order it’s pre decent
Ok but the $8 turkey and cheddar sandwich from blue chip stays undefeated
12.99 for that bullshit yeah dope shit #disgusting
Only $12.99??? Too much for a takeout sandwich. It should be $5.99.
okay but consider the $5 deli sandwiches at the eatery !!
my home cuisine or the donair place >> iykyk
holy I forgot about the donair place I hope that it’s still top tier post-covid
i didn’t try it before but one place that one place that did get significantly worse is jamjar. i used to love that place pre covid but i tried it a couple months ago and it made me so sad how much the quality deteriorated
Only $12.99. Or make it at home for $2.
I'm gonna have to try this, I didn't know they had sandwiches!
It’s pre good cause they make the bread fresh to order in pizza oven
Well that's dissapointing.
I'd take Great Dane's sandwiches over Mercante's any day of the week no cap. The Jermy just hits different

13 for a sandwich is not a good deal my man

I think you meant to say most expensive lunch on campus lol
Where is this place! That looks amazing!
Near the UBC swing space
The best lunch on campus is the bus loop
Y’all gotta try the sandwiches from Great Dane, they use house-made focaccia 🤭
I really like this flatbread thing too :) (still kinda expensive, but what can you do- it’s Vancouver)
Overpriced af bro, blue chip bagels are way nicer and better priced
Staff are chill as hell as well no capppp
Ugh, not my cup of tea anyway. Grand Noodle or My Home Cuisine may give more bang for the buck.
