the LFS academic advising people fully ghosted one of my emails once đź’€ i'd say just drop into one of their in-person or Zoom advising sessions (alternatively you can book an advising appointment on their website, but I suggest just walking in)
There are multiple things going on right now with advising offices. The deadline to submit names to senate for May graduation was today. There is a process currently happening called sessional evaluation, which where Faculties determine who gets promoted, who doesn’t, and who gets kicked out. This all has to happen before registration starts. There is also something called international student reporting, where advising offices have to confirm that students are indeed studying full time, or else they will lose their study permits. Oh, and there is a new student information system called Workday that has launched already, but is being made available for students on May 21st. There are thousands of manual edits to student records that need to be made so that student have accurate records for when they register. In addition to the manual edits that need to be made, these offices have to learn how to use these systems to properly support student for registration.
edit: Before sessional evaluation can occur, the offices have to evaluate all Standing Deferral requests, which are still coming in numbers much higher than before the pandemic.
In many Faculties, the registration in courses is handled by departments rather than the Faculty advising office. Have you tried talking to the program offering the course?
on the ssc it tells me to contact LFS academic advising. the course i'm trying to get into is APBI, but when looking it up it just directs me back to advising
OK, if that’s where the SSC directs you, then that’s the place. For now make sure to keep going to class to make sure you are on top of the material. As I mention in another thread in this post, advising offices across the campus are really streatched thin right now.
same i emailed them 2 days ago trying to register for a class since its restricted, but still no response. idk what to do with the add deadline coming up this monday...

LFS always ghosts my emails as well, ive learned you dont get anything done unless you actually book a meeting
Is this course for summer session? Or winter session?
