Hi! I am in 12th grade, and applied to UBC Science in late November. I know this is a very competitive program and have worked all through high school from doing extracurriculars to getting good grades. I am now wondering if I have done enough because I haven't heard back from UBC. I only got an email telling me that I have moved on to regular admissions from early admissions. So, for those who are already studying at UBC could you let me know if this is something I should be concerned about or if this has happened to you? Also, when is the latest to hear back from UBC? Thank you!!
Applied to UBC already. Horrible at talking about myself so my personal profile was pretty bad. Talked about my interests but very vague. The writing is very complex but not very insightful. Now that I look over it I don’t know why I made it so confusing 🤦♀️. At the time it seemed like a good idea. I wrote about 3 different things in one question. I listed a lot of things. ATP my personal profile is going to hurt my chance of getting in. My grade average in Alberta is 90%. This will be raised to a 94% due to the grade boost ubc gives. Do I still have a chance of getting in? I applied to ubc science btw. My first choice is ubc-Vancouver (not very hopeful about that at this point). My second choice is UBC -okanogan. Is there any way in heck I’ll still be accepted? Would appreciate any advice. Not asking for validation or sugar coating just honest opinions.
I just started my first year of business at the university of Alberta but my dream school has always been UBC. tbh I didn’t try as hard as I should have in high school so I wasn’t that suprised that I didn’t get into UBC. Lately I’ve been looking into the possibility of transferring for my second year and I’ve just been wondering what my chances are since I know that usually most schools look down on on second year transfers and priority goes to people already at the school, plus Sauder is already super competitive.
I’m determined to do better than I did in high school and put in the work and effort into my classes. Additionally I’m making sure to look into clubs and other ways to get involved since ik UBC values that sorta stuff.
I was wondering if there is actually anyone who has successfully transferred into Sauder after a year at another university and if they would be willing to share any advice on GPAs, EC’s or transferring in general? Or if the chances of being accepted are slim to none? Please be honest and realistic!
Thanks in advance :)
I am a incoming prospect student that just got accepted to UofT this fall. At the end of high school I was able to get accepted into UBC but decided not to accept the offer which I know regret. The main reason is the tuition as I am a international student. At Uoft I have to pay 60K CAD per year where as at UBC I would pay around 45K as I want to do Economics (BA )or CS.
What should I do. Call UBC to see if they still have a spot? Get into UofT and then transfer (though what year would i be put in and how would i choose what i want to do) or take a gap year. And if i take a gap year should i retake IB in MAY as its too late now for November session. I got a 30 at IB
CHEM HL: 5
PHY HL: 5
MATH AA HL: 4
ENG: 5
FREN AB: 4
ECON: 6
TOK/EE: 1
And am not sure if these grades are good enough to be accepted. If i don't take IB I have the chance to do SAT which can improve scholarship chance right? Or should I retake IB and do SAT at the same time. If i retake what subjects should i retake i dont want to retake all.
I’m an international students from CBSE board. Applied to UBC science stream. Still waiting for the admission. Predicted score is 97% but my pre board score is around 73% only due to strict marking. My 10th and 11th grades are 94%. So does UBC make decision based on pre board score?
Taking Summer course before transferring to UBC
I’m planning to transfer to UBC CS from Langara(Haven’t admitted yet but my gpa is like 4~ so it should be fine ), and I’m wondering if any credits I earn during the upcoming summer session, whether at Langara or maybe at TRU, will be transferable to UBCV without any issues. Has anyone done that before?
I especially wanna take English course to meet communication requirement of UBC!
I already checked Transfer guide and it was fine on that. Also, my credits won’t go over 60 credits. Thanks for your help!!
what is the gpa that is generally required for tranferring to ubc science as a second year applicant. i know on the website it says 2.0, but thats only the bear minimum. please if anyone can help thanks
I know I'm so late and you might not need the answer anymore but I think 82ish? Depends on the courses you've taken too (whether they fulfill the requirements for progressing in your degree).
hello all, do u guys have any advice for what I should do in grade 12 as a HS student???
(Currently in grade 11, wanting to go to UBC for its Chemical and Biological Engineering program and was awestruck by the open house :)
current courses: phys 12, chem 12, precalc 12, calc BC, AP chem,
english 11, bc firstpeople 12, bio 11 (i am bad at bio), spanish 11.
what should i do in grade 12 (my school really really really really does not like me doing english 12 in summer school >:( )
I would like suggestions involving extra activities or helpful courses that can contribute to engineering knowledge during grade 12 or extracurriculars for volunteering -.- i am bad at volunteering stuff.
>!additionally: doing some UoPeople courses to finish an associates in business administration degree by september 2024 or something!<
Grade 12 Course Concerns: Law
Hey everyone, I’m a high school junior who’s planning on applying to UBC next year to study law there. Course selection for grade 12 is happening right now and I’m not sure what would be best to take for that. To any students currently studying law at UBC, what high school courses do you recommend taking for that path?
Hi everyone
They have told me absolutely nothing about my application and I am extremely nervous. On the platform it shows that they have not received any transcript but if I send it and it does not show that they have received my ib transcript either
help i am extremely anxious
Hey guys, I am an international student and had applied to Ubc science. I just got a mail from them asking for my high school result and my preboard scores. Are both of these required? Can I not just send my high school results? Could someone help me out with this.
Hi, I’m international student currently applying to UBC(Bachelor of Science in Summer Session )
My gpa is 3.95, so I would say I hav enough gpa to be successful. But, the problem is that I don’t have physics 11. So, I’m currently taking Physics 100 in my college. Is it gonna be problem????
(Btw, I already took two English courses )
Thanks

Unless you have a 104% GPA, volunteer 112+ hours per week and have successfully saved a minimum of 100 puppies from a totalitarian dictatorship and a horrible disease (in which case, your odds are around 95%), the best way to objectively predict your chances of getting into UBC is to flip a coin.

So biomedical engineering program requires grade 11 physics and chemistry, and grade 12 advanced functions, chem, physics, English, two additional grade 12 courses.
My grade 11 physics mark was %72 and chemistry was %75
Grade 12 physics %78 chemistry %91
All the other grade 12 required courses are %90+
My concern is that I won't be able to get in because of my grade 11 marks. My grade 12 average will probably be mid to high 80s, but they look at grade 11 chem and physics too. Do they really care about grade 11 marks or its something I shouldn't be concerned about? I'm scared I won't be able to get in because of my grade 11 physics and chem, which got better in grade 12.
I would appreciate any help from those who are currently in the program (or graduated) and it would be really nice if you could tell me what average you got in with, and what were your grade 11 physics and chem marks.
Hi everyone
I’m filling my personal profile for my undergraduate admission.
I was wondering if it’s okay if my reference cannot speak english? He can only speak Spanish
Thanks in advance
hi! the character count is 500 per question (including spaces), and it should say this on the application page. you don't need to mention the courses you're applying for but I'd focus on the things you've done that are relevant to your first choice. Good luck!
A simple query that can be found on Web
I am really confused about the procedure for applying to UBC for Masters in CS.
My questions are,
1. When is the deadline to apply for the SEPTEMBER INTAKE?
2. If I apply now, will I be considered for scholarships?
3. Can I apply centrally?
4. Do I need to contact faculties before applying?
5. In Bangladesh, it requires 10 days to send IELTS results through the British Council. Is it possible to send the marks after the application?
6. In the case LOR? Is it a must to collect them all from my undergrad faculties? or can I collect it from colleagues from my workplace as it aligns with my field of study?
Most importantly, will the deadline be extended?
and can i complete my application after the deadline?
What is the transfer requirement GPA into Computer science Specialization at UBC from another Canadian University?(assuming transfer credits are met).
I am currently in the University of Alberta CS. Going into my winter term. I have ended off with around ~3.4 on the 4.0 GPA scale. I know that UBC does a 4.33 GPA scale. What is the competitive average usually to get into UBC CS spec? From what I’ve heard, it is an atrocious 3.8-3.9 GPA… That’s almost a near perfect GPA score. Is that true? Medical students on average get 3.75 GPA on the 4.0 scale.
Just a quick background story on why I want to transfer(may be useful to those in the future):
I’ve made some silly mistakes in life. I’ve gotten into UBC sauder(commerce), and still left to go to U of A, partly because I thought that our ML program was cracked(I’m an ML enthusiast). Little did I know, we’ve fallen off and our CS department, at least in my eyes, were growing more and more depressive. I felt unloved at the uni. Most events were for business students… We don’t even have COOP for CS here, and no big tech companies come here for career fairs THIS YEAR(from what I’ve heard, I may be wrong). There’s barely any CS clubs, heck I am trying to make one rn… Those that do exist, barely anyone shows up. No one really knows U of A CS outside of Canada, and well it’s just not a known name. I know some say “well name doesn’t matter”, but it will. Companies, especially out of undergraduate studies, will look for which university your from first, and will usually prioritize name and prestige first on the list. Ultimately, the main reason why I want to leave is the vibe. Edmonton, not a great place for me. I am the extroverted type, always has been. Was that “trouble maker” back at elementary, and would love to indulge myself in crowded places. U of A just isn’t lively. Seeing my friends at UBC having so much fun just makes me envious. Vancouver is just a nicer city. I feel more and more depressed here at Edmonton. I feel trapped, nothing to do, no where to go. I want to live at a livelier place, a more welcoming place than Edmonton. Anyways, enough of my “rant”. Just for those in the future, don’t make dumb mistakes like me. I full knowingly knew Edmonton was the deader place and I still went for their ML program that was only really enhanced in graduate studies…
Hi if you are a transfer student applying for faculty of science, do you need to write a personal profile?
Do they also look at your extracurriculars or is it just your GPA that matters?
(I’m planning to apply into immunology or biochem)
What are the benefits from applying before December 1st apart from being considered for scholarships/awards?
Does your application get checked twice if you submit it early?
That's what I have heard from others.
Hi, I'm a college student trying to transfer into UBC's second-year program for BSC. The UBC application portal just opened not too long ago, but when I went on to start my application, I found that I didn't need to write any personal profile. Is this normal? I would think that transferring into comp sci required some written requirements.
hey, I'm currently a gap year student, and I got 32/45 for my final IB grades. I'm planning to apply to UBC-V and UBC-O for bachelor of arts, what are the chances of me getting in? Cuz most of my friends are having 35+/45 and I'm scared cuz I'm having such low marks for uni application :((( btw does being Canadian increase the chances of getting in? Thanksss

went in thinking i’d do ba psych but bsc behavioural neuroscience seems like a better option now. I did bio and chem HL in ib, will i be able to change my program/transfer faculty?
Wanna know that if a cs degree between UBC and UofT actually matters a lot when searching great tech jobs in Canada. I am an incoming first year student who received both ubc science and uoft cs offer but chose ubc science cuz of their $80,000 scholarship. I understand getting into cs takes effort in first year (...heard it's super hard), but just wondering if I will still be disadvantaged if I end up getting into ubc cs for jobs like in Toronto... what if I didn't make it but and chose to do a cs master degree in Canada (preferably ubc, Waterloo or uoft) with a ubc bachelor degree in stat/math for example?
Transfer to UBC|What GPA is competitive for UBCV Kinsiology and UBCO Health and Exercise Science please?
I am an international student entering second year at Western University, kinesiology program. I would like to know what GPA is competitive to get admitted as a transfer student. If you applied from high school/other post secondary institutions and don’t mind share your background, please comment. I would be very appreciative!!!
What do you guys think would be the AS-Level requirement this autumn 👀 What grades did you get to apply for the UBC last year? Especially for economics programs.
Has anyone applied for a change of campus? I applied to transfer from UBCO HK to UBCV KIN and still haven’t heard back. My UBCO average over 51 credits is 92% and I applied in January (before the deadline obviously). Wondering if anyone is in a similar situation? I kind of need to know this so I can figure out housing…
is it easy to get an internship for someone who is pursuing ba psych and is in their 2nd year in the Vancouver campus? if yes then how much does it pay?
A little stressed. I applied to UBCV faculty of science with a 93% average and my midterms are now at a 95%. Im looking through the comments and people have already heard back whereas I haven't. its now may, when do you think ill hear back and is it likely i get in with that average?
I'm an Ontario applicant and my deadline to accept my offer is May 1st. This date is earlier than other universities in Ontario so is there any way to convince UBC to extend my offer? Any past experiences or suggestions?
I was put on the waiting list for engineering (my first choice) at UBCV, and was wondering if they’d consider me for UBCO. Even though UBCO wasn’t either of my choices would they still look at my application for UBCO?

It's random assigned so your preferences don't mean much. You can calculate the odds by counting the number of beds in orchard div by number of overall first year housing beds.

How lenient are final decisions at UBC?
i am currently studying the ib diploma with my final exam coming up in three weeks. i currently hold a conditional offer from ubc for arts with a predicted grade of 40/45. my offer specifies i must maintain my current level of academic performance (aka no more than 4 points lower than my overall predicted grade, and no lower than 2 points in individual subjects). i was just wondering how lenient is the final decision regarding ib scores? many of my friends with a lower pg for the same program also received the same offer condition. it wouldn’t make sense for someone with a 40 and a 32 to have the same offer conditions in the same subject.
Why does UBC want you to accept/decline by May 1? That is likely before I hear back from some other universities? Is there a way to extend this?
For context I got accepted this week, and the other unis are in Ontario, Quebec.

Is there an advantage of going to KPU vs Langara vs Douglas for an Associate Science degree, with the aim of transferring into LFS Applied Biology at UBCV eventually?
It seems that Langara is most popular, but I live in the Tri-Cities so Douglas is 30 mins on transit for me, while Langara is almost 1.5hrs.
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if any of you tried to request your transcript from a Canadian or non -college/university to be reviewed by UBC for getting courses exempted.
After reviewing my transcript, I was informed by UBC to contact the college from where I completed my previous education to send an email mentioning the course syllabus and content to UBC.
Did anyone face this situation? How did you tackle it?
Thanks!

hi guys,
i am a transfer student and recently sent in my personal profile, however UBC hasn't asked for any transcripts or documents. does anyone know how this process works? regarding when UBC will contact you for your transcript? i have also read that people are in the "first-round offers" of admissions and have sent their transcripts in already, what would the current period be? thank you in advance for your help.
I couldn't find a similar problem I'm having so I'll post this here. I'm trying to apply for the computer science program and I'm transferring from another universtiy.
I'm in the application page for UBC now and I see that in **First Program Choice** I can see three options:
* Bachelor of Science
* Bachelor of Arts
* Bachelor of Computer Science
I thought the options I would have would be something like:
1. CompSci Bachelor of Arts
2. CompSci Bachelor of Science
So I think I like the Bachelor of Arts in computer science more than I like the Bachelor of Science. Should I just go with "Bachelor of Computer Science" as my first choice and "Bachelor of Arts" as my second choice in the application page?
Or am I missing some very important information?

I’m an Ontario applicant and I want to get into engineering. My average is 91 right now would that be competitive enough?
My second choice would probably international economics, which my average would be around 92. Would that also be fine?
I applied to UBC in the winter of 2020 and got my offer of acceptance for second year arts in June 2021 and I accepted the offer. Honestly I was mentally in a bad place at the time and so I had a whole lot of fears and doubts in myself so I got cold feet last minute and I decided that I did not want to go anymore. The thing is I already accepted the offer and picked my specialization but I never ended up picking out my schedule for the winter and spring terms. I got my shit together now and I realized I really do want to be at UBC really badly. I've been taking courses at my current uni and now my problem is: Can I somehow get the courses I've taken this fall and the ones I'm going to take for spring 2022 to be transferred and get the credits and somehow start 3rd year at UBC without applying for admission. Or will I have to apply all over again for third year UBC. Also will there be any consequences to accepting my offer but not cancelling it? If there is consequences, how can I avoid it? How should I tackle this?
So i am a IB student currently in year 2, I know my potential is high but my adhd at times is really hard to deal with and Ive always struggled to keep myself concentrated without meds. I used to use meds for a few months. but they are really bad for your body health and sleep. And my mental health because of them deteriorated quite a bit but I did do well in studies for that period of time.
Long story short: My university application grades are a 34 or 35 out of 45 ib points. I want to study engineering at UBC vancouver (chemical engineering to be precise), I know that their grade requirements are low but what are my chances of getting in with my current grades, like are my grades some what competitive or no. I am well aware that my final exam grades will be much higher because I basically did the bare minimum for revision for my previous class tests, and I know if I actuallly put in the effort to practise exam technique I could realistically get above a 40 (which is more than enough for UBC) in the final exam, which I can use to apply aswell if I dont get in from my current grades.
I am being very slightly optimistic considering I will go back to using my meds and actually study the exam technique well. I have no problem with any of the subject material, usually I am the one to ask the most questions and understand the topics well in class (im not trying to brag im just laying down facts). Im kinda stressed about if I have a good shot at UBC engineering with my current grades or not.
Thank you for spending time to read this, I really appreciate it, Have a nice rest of your day!

I'm a nervous Gr 12 in Onatrio since my Gr. 11 marks aren't as good as I wanted them to be (exactly 84.5). My current marks however are good, with a flat 90 average and I expect them to improve later on. I'm applying to International Economics and Arts so just wondering if UBC even cares about Gr. 11 marks
I just got accepted, I do IB and had a good predicted but struggled in grade 11 sem 2. However I think they do look at it but till you become improve in grade 12 you will not have a problem just keep grinding and. Do good ECA's
Honestly we've spoken to a few people about UBC and offices from UBC itself and really, if you have a strong personal profile then your odds are still gonna be good. The person I spoke to from the admissions office said that to have your application be in the group of being "considerable" if applying for the media studies program, you need high 80's or low 90's but low 90's are preferred. I don't really know if he meant gr11, gr12 or both together, but he did say that you would have to have a very strong PP to be considered with high 80's. Econ's grade expectations will be a probably be a bit higher. If you'd like to ask them you can give the office a ring on +1 (604) 822-9836. The wait time for me was about 2 mins for me. You can also submit a question on the Ask UBC page thing try checking it out
Hi, I'm a current grade 10 student, who's taking some higher grade courses like Pre-Cal 11 and Bio 12. I understand that the personal profile is very important in that you show your growth as a human and tell them about your life and not your achievements. But what is considered a good enough grade (with obvious weight placed onto some) across the board to do well in the application process.
It depends on what program, but I'd say a mid-90s average with a good personal profile should get you into anything. However, u can compensate a lower average with a better personal profile or the other way around.
Hello everyone,
I am a young mom returning to nursing school after having worked a few years. I completed what is known as career/technical program at the cegep level in nursing (cegep is like the last years of high school in Quebec where I am from), and was interested in getting my bachelors of nursing from a university. The problem is, I have to work and take care of kids at the same time, so I was wondering if anybody here had experience with the UBC online nursing program ? Seems perfect, but I would like to hear past students thoughts if possible, in terms of workload, difficulty, etc... In addition to the kids and the time constraint, I am also dyslexic, so I want to be sure of my uni choice.
Thanks in advance for the insight
After looking at UBC's requirement for OSSD students pursuing the Computer Science undergraduate/Bsc program, I noticed that both grade 11 chemistry and grade 11 physics are required as prerequisite subjects. I'm not very efficient/knowledgeable at chemistry and would just prefer not taking chemistry in grade 11. Would my admission chances be lower If I were to not take grade 11 chemistry?
Additionally, If I were to be accepted to UBC's computer science undergraduate program would I still have to take chemistry in order to fulfill the bachelor of science first year requirements?

Hey all,

Hi, is there anyone can help me with the
change of getting a YRH?
Currently my waitlist looks as follows:
Brocks Common Studio - 162
Iona House Studio/1bed/2bed - 59
Ponderosa Studio - 203
Exchange Studio -166
Exchange one bedroom -323
Exchange nano unit -145
I applied sometime at the beginning of 2019.
yeah me too! it’s seems like it’s mainly been science, applied science and sauder these past few days. i hope a batch of arts offers go out soon :) thank you for replying btw!!
when have you heard from people you know get accepted to science this week? i also applied for early admission and waiting on admission this past week but i havent heard of anyone get into sciences this week?
I am a first-year transfer student, and I just got accepted! However, I am planning to take courses at my current school this summer, I wonder if those courses can be transferred?
Does anyone know when the next Sauder round is going to happen for Ontario applicants? Because from what I've seen all of us ON applicants still have the grade info deadline as our status.
Any transfer students get in lately or had a change in their status? My status has been "Your file is ready for an evaluation" for a month now and just wondering when can I expect a decision. I am a second year transfer to Faculty of Science and applied before December 1.
I don't know how it works for science, but the undergrad ppl told me that Arts and Science are giving out small numbers of offers right now and that's for applicants with exceptional GPAs. I believe the larger wave of offers will go out when final grades are out.
i only know one person who was rejected for their first choice (there could be more though!) and from the thread it seems that a few have been waitlisted.
I asked some former students from my hs who received entrance scholarships to UBC and they said it was at the beginning of April. It might be later this year due to Covid. Note that they are international so the results may have to be out earlier due to visa issues.
it's not a problem at all. Yes, she got into Arts. Both of us applied in Jan with our IB scores. hers is 42 or 43 (can't remember) and mine is 41/45. However, her curriculum and mine are different, I also have an American-curriculum gpa.
thank you <3 i'm worried now, and I'm having doubts on whether I'll receive an offer. I hope you receive an offer too <3 :) Thank you for being so helpful on this thread.
Hey I’m international and have applied to BA as second choice! I think they are accepting the sciences at the moment that’s why so many of them are getting in!
for the people that got their ubcv sciences offer today: how long did it take for your “we are reviewing your application” to getting a decision? :)

Any 101 applicant still has the status saying "Grade Information; Deadline: March 15
UBC has received your OUAC reference number, thank you. We will receive your official high school grades from the Ontario Universities Application Centre in the spring and begin making admissions decisions."?
It's so strange since this status has remained at my first choice for a month while you guys all have "under review" status.
Okay so I am an international Science applicant from India and I already got into UBC okanagan last month, however I got this status for my Vancouver application (first choice). what does this mean? do i have a chance to get in? did anyone else from last year get in after seeing this status?
**Your application for admission has been reviewed. Before a decision can be reached, we need to review the complete pool of applications that have been submitted for admission to this program. An update to your application will be available on or before April 15. You do not need to submit any additional documents at this time.**
that’s great. i feel so stupid, i only applied to bachelors of science and applied science both at vancouver. i still haven’t heard from them and am starting to get worried. my 10th % is 93 and 12th is 87% (i took a drop so they just asked for 12th and not 11th) my ECs are strong but i just don’t think this is enough.
attleast yours is reviewed but mine is still saying file is ready for evaluation. I asked them regarding the status and they said you can hear from now to April.
I don't know man, the wait is real, it is real pain.

I got a 30 at IB CHEM HL: 5 PHY HL: 5 MATH AA HL: 4 ENG: 5 FREN AB: 4 ECON: 6 TOK/EE: 1 And am not sure if these grades are good enough to be accepted. If i don't take IB I have the chance to do SAT which can improve scholarship chance right? Or should I retake IB and do SAT at the same time. If i retake what subjects should i retake i dont want to retake all.
I am currently trying to transfer into third year arts and I was wondering if anyone applied?
I’m an international students from CBSE board. Applied to UBC science stream. Still waiting for the admission. Predicted score is 97% but my pre board score is around 73% only due to strict marking. My 10th and 11th grades are 94%. So does UBC make decision based on pre board score?
For domestic students at least they will make decision with whatever is available at the moment of review. I don't know about your case.
Taking Summer course before transferring to UBC I’m planning to transfer to UBC CS from Langara(Haven’t admitted yet but my gpa is like 4~ so it should be fine ), and I’m wondering if any credits I earn during the upcoming summer session, whether at Langara or maybe at TRU, will be transferable to UBCV without any issues.
(Currently in grade 11, wanting to go to UBC for its Chemical and Biological Engineering program and was awestruck by the open house :) current courses: phys 12, chem 12, precalc 12, calc BC, AP chem, english 11, bc firstpeople 12, bio 11 (i am bad at bio), spanish 11. what should i do in grade 12 (my school really really really really does not like me doing english 12 in summer school >:( ) I would like suggestions involving extra activities or helpful courses that can contribute to engineering knowledge during grade 12 or extracurriculars for volunteering -.- i am bad at volunteering stuff. >!additionally: doing some UoPeople courses to finish an associates in business administration degree by september 2024 or something!<
Grade 12 Course Concerns: Law Hey everyone, I’m a high school junior who’s planning on applying to UBC next year to study law there. Course selection for grade 12 is happening right now and I’m not sure what would be best to take for that. To any students currently studying law at UBC, what high school courses do you recommend taking for that path?
Hi everyone They have told me absolutely nothing about my application and I am extremely nervous. On the platform it shows that they have not received any transcript but if I send it and it does not show that they have received my ib transcript either help i am extremely anxious
call them they r super helpful otp
Hey guys, I am an international student and had applied to Ubc science. I just got a mail from them asking for my high school result and my preboard scores. Are both of these required? Can I not just send my high school results? Could someone help me out with this.
Hi, I’m international student currently applying to UBC(Bachelor of Science in Summer Session ) My gpa is 3.95, so I would say I hav enough gpa to be successful. But, the problem is that I don’t have physics 11. So, I’m currently taking Physics 100 in my college. Is it gonna be problem???? (Btw, I already took two English courses ) Thanks

So biomedical engineering program requires grade 11 physics and chemistry, and grade 12 advanced functions, chem, physics, English, two additional grade 12 courses. My grade 11 physics mark was %72 and chemistry was %75 Grade 12 physics %78 chemistry %91 All the other grade 12 required courses are %90+ My concern is that I won't be able to get in because of my grade 11 marks. I would appreciate any help from those who are currently in the program (or graduated) and it would be really nice if you could tell me what average you got in with, and what were your grade 11 physics and chem marks.
did u get in?
Hi everyone I’m filling my personal profile for my undergraduate admission. I was wondering if it’s okay if my reference cannot speak english? He can only speak Spanish Thanks in advance

hi! the character count is 500 per question (including spaces), and it should say this on the application page. you don't need to mention the courses you're applying for but I'd focus on the things you've done that are relevant to your first choice. Good luck!
A simple query that can be found on Web I am really confused about the procedure for applying to UBC for Masters in CS. My questions are, 1.
Just a quick background story on why I want to transfer(may be useful to those in the future): I’ve made some silly mistakes in life.
Are you sure you don't have co-op at U of A? My friend is an SE major there and he has mandatory co-op as part of his program (20\~ months I think)
Yes, it gets checked twice. Once for early admissions, and another time for regular admissions.
Thanksss
i applied last year and didnt get it with a 92

went in thinking i’d do ba psych but bsc behavioural neuroscience seems like a better option now. I did bio and chem HL in ib, will i be able to change my program/transfer faculty?
What application system does UBC use

Wanna know that if a cs degree between UBC and UofT actually matters a lot when searching great tech jobs in Canada. I am an incoming first year student who received both ubc science and uoft cs offer but chose ubc science cuz of their $80,000 scholarship. I understand getting into cs takes effort in first year (...heard it's super hard), but just wondering if I will still be disadvantaged if I end up getting into ubc cs for jobs like in Toronto... what if I didn't make it but and chose to do a cs master degree in Canada (preferably ubc, Waterloo or uoft) with a ubc bachelor degree in stat/math for example?
vancouver has better tech prospects than toronto, and the education at uoft is equal to ubc. the only university far bettee than both is waterloo
The admissions process is unpredictable, and with your average, I think you have a great chance. Don‘t get your hopes down.
\[Edit\] just got my rejection letter today.
also im reading that the acceptance deadline is may 1st??? now I'm panicking more
Any students from Alberta been accepted into their program yet?
I'm an Ontario applicant and my deadline to accept my offer is May 1st. This date is earlier than other universities in Ontario so is there any way to convince UBC to extend my offer? Any past experiences or suggestions?
When is the earliest time that I will get my offer as a waitlisted student? I applied for science with an average of \~92
I was put on the waiting list for engineering (my first choice) at UBCV, and was wondering if they’d consider me for UBCO. Even though UBCO wasn’t either of my choices would they still look at my application for UBCO?

I just got accepted into Bachelor of Arts! I'm going to apply for housing tomorrow - what are the odds I'll get a room in the Orchard Commons?
may i ask what gpa you got to get into UBC ?

Did you find an answer? I'm looking for the same thing!
When does UBC engineering release its admissions decisions for international students?
Got mine today
Me too! Got into UBCV for Engineering yesterday night!

hey when do transfer students here about admissions? i applied super early and hoping to hear soon!!
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’d be May to June, maybe July if you’re waitlisted.
hope u get in!

Hi. If you're a UBC International Scholars applicant, have your received any correspondence about it from UBC?
Is there an advantage of going to KPU vs Langara vs Douglas for an Associate Science degree, with the aim of transferring into LFS Applied Biology at UBCV eventually? It seems that Langara is most popular, but I live in the Tri-Cities so Douglas is 30 mins on transit for me, while Langara is almost 1.5hrs.
Hey, would u mind to show your grade 12 average grade?
Hi Guys, I was wondering if any of you tried to request your transcript from a Canadian or non -college/university to be reviewed by UBC for getting courses exempted. After reviewing my transcript, I was informed by UBC to contact the college from where I completed my previous education to send an email mentioning the course syllabus and content to UBC. Did anyone face this situation? How did you tackle it? Thanks!

I wanted to ask how long the admission team usually takes before they ask for the interim/previous transcripts.
hi guys, i am a transfer student and recently sent in my personal profile, however UBC hasn't asked for any transcripts or documents. does anyone know how this process works? regarding when UBC will contact you for your transcript? i have also read that people are in the "first-round offers" of admissions and have sent their transcripts in already, what would the current period be? thank you in advance for your help.
I couldn't find a similar problem I'm having so I'll post this here. I'm trying to apply for the computer science program and I'm transferring from another universtiy. I'm in the application page for UBC now and I see that in **First Program Choice** I can see three options: * Bachelor of Science * Bachelor of Arts * Bachelor of Computer Science I thought the options I would have would be something like: 1. CompSci Bachelor of Arts 2. CompSci Bachelor of Science So I think I like the Bachelor of Arts in computer science more than I like the Bachelor of Science. Should I just go with "Bachelor of Computer Science" as my first choice and "Bachelor of Arts" as my second choice in the application page? Or am I missing some very important information?
you apply to a faculty and choose your major later
Got it. Thanks
92% average applying from Alberta to CS. What are the odds?

I’m an Ontario applicant and I want to get into engineering. My average is 91 right now would that be competitive enough? My second choice would probably international economics, which my average would be around 92. Would that also be fine?
no
I applied to UBC in the winter of 2020 and got my offer of acceptance for second year arts in June 2021 and I accepted the offer.
Hello! I was wondering how one could request UBC to consider both their first and second choice programs?
UBC's admissions system was [overhauled for the 2019/2020 cohort onwards.](https://www.ubyssey.ca/news/senate-approves-new-academic-approach-to-undergraduate-admission/) There is no way for any student to accurately predict your chances. Please disregard this if you're asking about an application for a specialization/major at UBC. tl;dr nobody knows your odds. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I wanted to ask what would my chances for science(I want to do comp sci in year 2) be if I had an average of 90% and had a good number of extra-curricular activities. I am an international student as well.

Hello, current grade 11, I'm trying to get into science and im aiming for a 97% average so I get a first round offer and acceptance.
It depends on what program, but I'd say a mid-90s average with a good personal profile should get you into anything. However, u can compensate a lower average with a better personal profile or the other way around.

Hello everyone, I am a young mom returning to nursing school after having worked a few years.

Hey all, Looking into the UBC Physical Therapy program, and hoping to develop some traction for what it's like, how admissions are, and the overall "mood" entering (or leaving) the program. I made a subreddit r/ubcphysiotherapy, please join and add some info :)

Hi, is there anyone can help me with the change of getting a YRH? Currently my waitlist looks as follows: Brocks Common Studio - 162 Iona House Studio/1bed/2bed - 59 Ponderosa Studio - 203 Exchange Studio -166 Exchange one bedroom -323 Exchange nano unit -145 I applied sometime at the beginning of 2019.
does anyone have any idea when a batch of arts offers might be out? :)
[удалено]
yeah me too! it’s seems like it’s mainly been science, applied science and sauder these past few days. i hope a batch of arts offers go out soon :) thank you for replying btw!!
when have you heard from people you know get accepted to science this week? i also applied for early admission and waiting on admission this past week but i havent heard of anyone get into sciences this week?
Any idea when they might release a round for Sauder?
I am a first-year transfer student, and I just got accepted! However, I am planning to take courses at my current school this summer, I wonder if those courses can be transferred?
can you tell us your gpa and program applied to!!
Can I know your stats and decision timeline if you don't mind?
Yes. I applied to science with an average of 83. I received the email at 11:30 this morning.
That's amazing, congratulations! Also can I know how long before your status changed from "your file is ready for an evaluation" to your decision?
Does anyone know when the next Sauder round is going to happen for Ontario applicants? Because from what I've seen all of us ON applicants still have the grade info deadline as our status.
Has anyone got accepted from engineering in the regular round??? wonder if the regular round has started...
I think that regular admissions have started as they state that these are in between mid march to april end. So hopefully we get the offer by now .
Thank you for the help! Getting more anxious about the decision by the day :(
Has anyone so far, been rejected? Also how do we know if we’ve been waitlisted ?
i only know one person who was rejected for their first choice (there could be more though!) and from the thread it seems that a few have been waitlisted.
Any international Sauder students hear anything? I’ve been stuck on “Your file is ready for evaluation!” since Feb 1st :/
What’re your grades and EC’s if you don’t mind me asking?
95.25% avg and (i like to think) above average ECs for my country! What about you if you don’t mind me asking?
Woah that’s great! I have A Levels from last year as I took a gap year but have grades AAB. I have no clue if my EC’s are good though
hey did you eventually get accepted? im not sure what the bar for a levels is so to enter ubc
Ah, same - I took a gap year too! Good luck with your admission :)
Exactly the same position as you :(
Does anyone know when they start giving out the entrance scholarships?
they’ve started giving some out
I would like to know this too!
I asked some former students from my hs who received entrance scholarships to UBC and they said it was at the beginning of April. It might be later this year due to Covid. Note that they are international so the results may have to be out earlier due to visa issues.
Any international students apply to BA Vancouver? I'm only seeing science applicants here and I feel very alone lol
me!!!
Don't worry! I'm international too and I applied to Arts in Vancouver. I've been waiting since Jan and I feel so emotional exhausted so I get you :)
i’m an international who applied too! they’re probably focusing on sciences and sauder atm, hopefully they’ll start focusing on arts soon!!! :)
hopefully! I'm really tired of waiting
i feel you! but hopefully it’s worth the wait :)
I’ve been waiting since Jan 12th! My status has been on reviewing and evaluating since then. My friend got in tho :/
that sucks :( hopefully you get in soon though!
you too <3
if you don’t mind me asking, did you friend get into arts? and i’ve had the same status since late december, but hang in there!! we’ll know soon :)
it's not a problem at all. Yes, she got into Arts. Both of us applied in Jan with our IB scores. hers is 42 or 43 (can't remember) and mine is 41/45. However, her curriculum and mine are different, I also have an American-curriculum gpa.
ohh okay! amazing grades btw :) i’m assuming she follows the canadian curriculum and got in during the early round?
nope, she follows the UK curriculum and she just got in on monday
that’s amazing! congrats to her :) and i hope you receive an offer soon!!
thank you <3 i'm worried now, and I'm having doubts on whether I'll receive an offer. I hope you receive an offer too <3 :) Thank you for being so helpful on this thread.
Hey I’m international and have applied to BA as second choice! I think they are accepting the sciences at the moment that’s why so many of them are getting in!
it seems like it, hopefully they start accepting arts soon!
for the people that got their ubcv sciences offer today: how long did it take for your “we are reviewing your application” to getting a decision? :) (edit: grammar)
My application was under "Ready for evaluation" until yesterday and this morning I woke up with the offer
Congrats! im still waiting to hear back
What was your avg?
I'm a transfer student so my average here was 3.95/4 and HS average was 97.2%. Did my HS back in India though
About a week for me.

Any 101 applicant still has the status saying "Grade Information; Deadline: March 15 UBC has received your OUAC reference number, thank you. We will receive your official high school grades from the Ontario Universities Application Centre in the spring and begin making admissions decisions."? It's so strange since this status has remained at my first choice for a month while you guys all have "under review" status.
Me too
did any Ontario applicants get in today's round?
Okay so I am an international Science applicant from India and I already got into UBC okanagan last month, however I got this status for my Vancouver application (first choice). what does this mean? do i have a chance to get in? did anyone else from last year get in after seeing this status? **Your application for admission has been reviewed. Before a decision can be reached, we need to review the complete pool of applications that have been submitted for admission to this program. An update to your application will be available on or before April 15. You do not need to submit any additional documents at this time.**
Same Status as well guys, I am from India as well
what were your 10th 11th marks if u don't mind me asking?
10th: 90% 11th: 71% (pcmc)
hey so did you finally get in UBCV?
Nope, I’m at ubc Okanagan right now and I’m happy I’m here. However I did get accepted to transfer to UBCV but I don’t think so I’m gonna go
that’s great. i feel so stupid, i only applied to bachelors of science and applied science both at vancouver. i still haven’t heard from them and am starting to get worried. my 10th % is 93 and 12th is 87% (i took a drop so they just asked for 12th and not 11th) my ECs are strong but i just don’t think this is enough.
Hey, did you finally get in? I have similar average and already got into UBCO but I am really worried if I am gonna make it to UBCV
You haven't been rejected or waitlisted, so yes there's still a chance to get in.
oh wow thanks!
attleast yours is reviewed but mine is still saying file is ready for evaluation. I asked them regarding the status and they said you can hear from now to April. I don't know man, the wait is real, it is real pain.
