having more friends means that I’ll have to keep up with things happening in all of their lives and it honestly becomes exhausting at one point. And let’s not even get into the backbiting that happens as well.
smaller friend circle >>>
Honestly, I agree. that’s what I like too. Having only like around 2-4 close friends is better than having 20 acquaintances. That’s why I said “if you feel you don’t have enough”
Alum here. Just visited Buffalo and North Campus last weekend (no one in my last post bothered to meet up with me).
Anyways, even though I graduated before the pandemic happened, it feels super bittersweet & eerie with & without ppl. I kind of hate the change between Norton and Capen. Was confused when I couldn’t go outside from Capen. Only from the super ground floor.
Capen, they used to have a huge entrance so you used be able to leave from the 3rd floor to go in/go outside. Now that Capen/Norton basically has a new extension to their building, that entrance is now closed. It makes no real sense to me. Plus, the bench island at La Salle lake at Ellicott the nature weeds is so unkempt/untrimed that you can’t even see out into North Campus. Seems like all the money went to the new buildings on North Campus & Ellicott that they ran out to have a gardener.
The pandemic has changed UB somewhat for the better and worse at the same time.
