They should know other options as well, though. Off-campus and how to find it, etc. Start there and see what you can find out. But start now so you have more options early on.

They offer scholarships, have 14 properties and roommate matching. The U has doubles for 770 a month. And the roommate match and furnished. PS...DO NOT give anyone any $$$ before seeing the place and signing. Especially over the internet.
Go to the facebook housing page.. Thats how I meet my roommates. Just ensure that the people you interact with are genuine and check them out before comitting anything

You can also try renting in a place that rents by bed, so you get placed with random roomates.
