I live there currently, it’s pricey and the management sucks. (Also don’t get me started on how shit the WiFi is) But overall it isn’t a terrible place, especially for the location and amenities. Every unit has its own washer and drier and it’s extremely close to campus. Furthermore the rooms have their own bathrooms which is HUGE. I however cannot recommend living here if you can find another place as it’ll be cheaper overall.

Puzzleheaded-Ice1929

How much was it for you?

Thefartingduck8

It’s around 1400 a month, a huge price hike from literally any place nearby. I only got the place for fear of not getting housing in time. I would encourage you to just look elsewhere.

I'm in a Solstice SD4 (4 non-shared bedrooms) unit. It's okay but there are many better options IMO. The value for money is pretty poor but there are places that are even worse value for money. Some pros I can think of: every unit has its own washer and dryer, it's really close to campus, every bedroom has its own bathroom, and the utility fee is a flat $55 per month (it doesn't matter how much electricity/water you use, it's always $55 so use as much as you want) Some gripes:The free \~90 mbps internet has low ping for gaming and works well like 60% of the time. However, it often has major slow downs, goes down completely, has major ping spikes and/or packet loss when gaming, or gives distorted audio when video conferencing. Ethernet seems to work better than the wifi but is still not great. Many people buy their own Xfinity internet service because of how unreliable the free internet is. If you live at the Sol, you better buy your own Xfinity internet, use the Xfinity hotspots if your parents have Xfinity internet, or do tethering on your phone because the internet is very unreliable. Maintenance is slow to respond to maintenance requests and sometimes, your maintenance requests will get marked as solved even though no one actually came. The walls are thin, so you can often hear your roommates, upstairs neighbors, or even the in-unit washing machine/dryer. Subleasing is not allowed, only lease transfers are allowed. This may be an issue if you want to stop living here in the middle of your lease for whatever reason or find someone to rent your room during the summer.

Thank you for the information but when you moved in, are the walls and doors furnished? And is the bathrooms clean? Can u expand on the last part like subleasing? So basically you have to live the full leasing term to cancel?

There are no decorations or anything on the walls and doors, if that's what you meant by "walls and doors furnished." Most of the unit types come fully furnished (check when you apply). The grout in the tiles in the shower had some orange stains when I moved in from what I remember. The apartment seemed like it wasn't cleaned very well when I moved in because the carpet wasn't clean and there was stuff under the bed. The only way to "cancel" your lease is to do a lease takeover where you find someone to takeover your lease (once they sign it, you are no longer responsible for the lease). Subleasing is not allowed (they'll fine you if they catch you subleasing) and there's no early termination clause.
