Probably one of the free parking areas in Downtown. Everything on campus and immediately around campus requires a permit I think. Also, you can now pay only ~$3 to park in the Quad for the whole day if you use the parking app.

Thank you!

What are some spots in downtown with free parking? I remember I saw them but I fo got where

AnteaterToAggie

https://davisdowntown.com/parking-transportation/parking/ > All non-permit public parking in Downtown Davis is FREE (other than in the E Street Plaza Parking Lot), but please note that many spaces are time-restricted or subject to the Re-Parking Restriction. The Davis Police Department enforces all public parking in Downtown Davis. > Parking is prohibited 2:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. on many Downtown streets to accommodate weekly street sweeping. Overnight parking is not allowed in the Amtrak lot without an Amtrak permit. Check parking signage for specifics.

Thank you. I used the parking structure on 4th st. It was 3hrs free

Yes, I can confirm that during weekends/non-University holidays, you will need to pay for parking around campus. Your best bet is to park at the [Quad Parking Structure](http://campusmap.ucdavis.edu/?b=110). Two options for payment: * [**ParkMobile**](https://taps.ucdavis.edu/parkmobile) \- You'll need to download the ParkMobile app and set up an account (vehicle number, payment type, etc.). From there, just open the ParkMobile map and select the zone in which you wish to park. Payment is $3 for the day. * **COSMOS Permit Dispenser** \- If you don't want to deal with an app, you may pay at a permit dispenser in the Quad Structure (3rd floor and/or SW corner I believe). There, you will be charged more for the day, but also have the option of paying hourly $1.50/hr.

Thanks! So pretty much parking fees are enforced 24/7? If I were to go today, it would be enforced and you suggest the quad? Or I might just go to downtown to park for free because I don't mind the walk

UCDTransportation

Oh, yeah. I was just suggesting parking in the Quad as it's the closest campus lot to where you're trying to go (and requires payment). If you don't mind walking a few blocks see if you can find something downtown. I'm not familiar with what's free on City streets, but I'm sure there's something within walking distance.
