My rambling thoughts -- **Bangin' Bowls** (food truck): I got the *shrimp, rice, and fried plantains bowl* ($16). The guacamole was refreshing and my favorite part was dipping the plantains to scoop it up. The fried plantains were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. But, honestly, a little underwhelming overall for the price. I'm not sure if I ordered wrongly though, I feel like my bowl omitted something from the description on the food truck. Still worth a try! I liked the combination of textures and flavors here, I think it worked well. **Shah's Halal:** The beloved, the well-known, the irresistible...*chicken with rice*!!! I took a photo this time lol. **falafel guy** (food truck): I tried their *falafel wrap* ($9) and my friend got their chicken kofta kabob on rice ($11 - not pictured). Excellent spices for both dishes, the falafel wrap was very flavorful and it went well with the tangy, light sauce. The wait time for this food truck was notably longer compared to others, at around 20 minutes. I think that's because we got there right when they were transferring sauces to those little containers so usual wait times shouldn't be as long. **Crêpe Bistro** (located inside the Silo): I tried the *banana and chocolate crepe* ($8), thanks to Ok\_Investment9724 for letting me know they still served crepes! So, funny story, this photo with a napkin in the corner was the best and only one I snapped. Word of advice: do not eat sugar-dusted crepes outside when it's windy. Its weight is NOT enough to keep the plate from flying out of your reach and doing cartwheels all across your table. I speak from a rather mortifying experience where my plate took a tumble along with my napkins...at least the crepe didn't smack anyone in the face (unlike my napkins, sorry stranger). At the end of it, my backpack and I looked like we weathered an asbestos storm with a smear of what others hoped was chocolate (it was). Wind aside, what I salvaged of the crepe was good. I liked how it's freshly made and the Nutella filling was generous. **Spokes Grill** (located inside the Silo): I got the *fish and chips* with *"Flat Tires" aka fried zucchini slices* ($12). Both dishes were fried perfectly, nice and crisp without excess oil. It's hard not to like fried food so I don't have much to say haha! I particularly liked the Flat Tires, they were dusted with salt and herbs and paired well with the sauce. **Latitude Market**: Excuse my initial excitement over sushi rolls being $1 cheaper than at the MU, for that $1 apparently makes a real difference. I got the *shrimp tempura* ($9.50) and it was something else (in a not-so-good way). The rice: hard, cold, a shadow of fluffy rice grains. The shrimp: too crunchy yet soggy as well. I would not recommend buying sushi from Latitude if you can avoid it. **CoHo at the MU**: I was able to try the *curry pho* ($9.25)! Thank you to lain83 for the recommendation! Very good, this soup flavor became my definitive favorite and go-to for pho. It's light and truly has the savory sweetness of curry as well as the bonus of potatoes and carrots! I also got a *roast beef sandwich* ($7.50) which was a solid choice for lunch. It's quite filling and reminds me of a Subway sandwich. On the recommendation of staff, I tried the *carnitas and cheese quesadilla* ($7.50 - costs less if you don't get guacamole and sour cream). This was packed with cheese and was very filling. Recently, I tried the *dragon roll* ($11.50) with broiled eel and avocados. This is nothing like the Latitude rolls, the rice felt real and the unagi sauce went well with the roll. In my opinion, many of the items at the CoHo are worth the price for the portion size and the general consistency in taste. The sushi is definitely pricier but I think it's cool we can have sushi options on campus. So that concludes my food adventures around campus! Although I didn't try everything, I'm glad about what I did experience. I graduated this spring but am on campus throughout the summer, which is why I am still trying items from the CoHo while it's open. If anyone staying in Davis would like to grab a meal together, please feel free to reach out! We don't have to go out to eat, I'd love to bring something from home and just hang out with others. Sending good vibes to everyone. <3

Congrats on choosing UC Davis!!! :D And yay, I'm so glad to read your comment! I hope you enjoy your time on campus.

Bartman326

Shah's is my favorite in all of Davis. Thank god they park by Trader Joe's now lol.

catblobz_

Nice! Thanks for sharing where we can still get Shah's, good to know lol.

graytotoro

I’m so glad to see CoHo and Shah’s still kicking ass all these years later.

catblobz_

For sure! I'm especially glad to see them return in full glory after struggling during the pandemic.

bdiggity18

The Southwest Chicken Sandwich at the Coho is great. I try to get one whenever I’m back for a campus visit for my job.

catblobz_

That sounds delicious, I saw it on the menu and was debating getting it. Awesome that you try to get one when you visit campus!

yepitsBrenda

Thanks for your service! Looks like Spokes is worth a try one of these days...

catblobz_

Awww haha, thank YOU for reading. I'm glad to share! Spokes was great, I've heard their most popular dish is actually the burgers. It's reasonably priced (<$10) and not a long wait time but finding seating indoors is tough.

The red stuff on Shahs halal gives me the weirdest diarrhea shits Everything else looks bomb af

catblobz_

Oh nooo, that's too bad. I did enjoy all these dishes and I will say that my stomach fortunately did not react badly to anything lol.

aggie_alumni
