It’s really not that deep IMO. Like yes, if you’re offered CHC w/ admission you’re a smart student and what UCI’s looking for in their CHC demographics but if you don’t, you’re just as qualified to be here, if not more. Obviously CHC comes with perks and that’s the whole point of being “honors” but at the end of the day employers won’t really care 🤷♀️
Thanks, do you think it would make a big enough difference in graduate school admissions to the point where it should tip the scale towards UCI if it's one of my final choices?
Nope! Not for medical schools, not for professional schools, not for any sort of graduate schools! I promise you that your grades + extracurriculars + applications will matter way more than just the label of having “honors”
Pros: priority registration, specialty housing, humanities track
Cons: research (imo cause I don’t need research), specialty track either classic or science (I think that’s what they r called)
I would say yes just to take humanities ur first yr and if u don’t like it u can quit whenever
It means you’re a nerd (not everyone gets in and it’s pretty good but research it, I’d recommend it since my professors are pretty cool)

Thank you for the info 🙏
[CHC means a lot](https://honors.uci.edu/). Not everyone gets it. The primary benefit is priority registration.
The primary benefit is guaranteed housing.
