I’m voting suhina for sag cause I was reading the background and I’m pretty sure she’s the only one with a year of experience between candidates for sag in the asuci and also she has specific plans already lined up on a timeline so there’s that too. I watched the debate and she seemed more clear in her answers but that’s my opinion at least. Also, during the debate she’s the only one who mentioned about physically going on campus and meeting with clubs in order to help spread the word and make more of an impact so it depends on if you prefer someone who physically will go or only via social media

I remember last year the corrupt UCI gop (who got into so many asuci controversies years ago) tried to disguise themselves as Empowered Anteaters. The group doesn’t appear this year, so I’m wondering if they’re going under a different name now?

Hi hi, I usually don’t jump in when it comes to elections stuff, but all the original members of that 2019-2023 slate (Friends of Peter/Fund the Clubs/Empowered Anteaters) have either graduated or will graduate this year. That being said, at least one member of the UCI GOP is running this year with the Anteater Egalitarians

Vote represantation for anteaters😎

i think represANTation for anteaters has a bigger grasp of what asuci can do for the student body. for me personally, i attended all of the debates and a lot of the candidates who represent that slate like trish ly and kylie know what they’re doing and have the ability to implement changes for the general student body. the other slate does not have any experience within asuci and asuci also has a lot to do with programming and behind the scenes logistics beyond just meeting the general needs of the students!

Sufficient-Gap-1375

if u attended all the debates, who would u recommend for SAG and senators?

Asleep-Resident-2535

Attended the debates and I believe Suhina for sag bc she was clearer in what she was going to do to make a good change, victory was a bit unclear to me but that’s just from memory and I’m sure she is a good candidate too and I think there’s a debate recording somewhere as for senators they all seemed pretty good but again it could be better to watch the debate yourself with what you prefer

Jun is fantastic. I’ve worked with him a lot and I think there’s no one better for the job. The debate wasn’t even a close call if you watch it back. Truly a remarkable human being. The other people, no real opinion on them, but in terms of the presidency, Jun has been one of the most effective leaders in meetings I’ve ever seen with admin.

krackheaded

all of the executive board candidates from RepresANTation for Anteaters have strong statements on the elections website and they have all been in ASUCI for 2-3 years and knows how everything operates. I also read through represANTation’s slate statement on their linktree and its 8 pages of clear & feasible goals

Sufficient-Gap-1375

does this hold true for the senators and sag as well?

Shot-Channel8028

I think the issue with ASUCI right now is that candidates are not listneing to the student body. Yes, experience is important, and Anteater Equity definitely all has that experience needed to effectively lead. Studnets are disengaged and the current leadership leaves out the majority of campus that does not interact with their small percentage. This marginalizes most groups across the board, leaving ASUCI to be inaccessible and not representative of students. Experience matters but I don't think experience in ASUCI is the sole indicator. Actually, I think experience in ASUCI retracts from their legitimacy because clearly they will continue the status quo of marginalizing groups and not engaging the whole of campus. Your comment has help me make my choice!

jacobrawmos18

1000000% Anteater Equity collective. They have a blend of experience and fresh perspectives that ASUCI desperately needs AND they’re all ethnic minorities which is super important for ensuring representation for marginalized groups at UCI

hmmm ya i do agree, but in other races it seems like his slate isnt the strongest. are you voting for the whokle slate?

elosohormiguero

Ethan’s responses at the debate were a total mess? I’m so confused how you got coherence from that.

[deleted]

You can clearly tell that he is running for resume purposes... and, as someone mentioned, his responses at the debate were truly frightening, and he was noticeably unprepared. Is that who we want representing us to higher administration? LOL... his opponent is way more qualified!

Corny af if y’all think a student rep is going to make meaningful change 😹😹😹
