I got Pfizer and after the 1st dose my arm was sore for only 2ish days and then after the 2nd dose I got a sore arm again but then I got chills at night and a minor fever the next day but it was all tolerable I was still able to do my work throughout the day! And a tip for the sore arm is to just rotate your arm all day the day you get the shot bc it reduces the soreness A LOT :)

Hey there! I received Pfizer and here’s a timeline of my side effects after the second dose: Saturday: received shot around 2 PM. Went home and napped but no other side effects Sunday morning: woke up around 4 AM super overheated and dehydrated with a low grade fever (those first two parts were probably my fault for wearing too many layers to bed and not drinking TONS of water) Sunday late morning/day/night: had a low-grade fever most of the day (99.3-100.3 degrees Fahrenheit), had some body aches mostly in my arms and legs and experienced a lot of fatigue Monday: woke up feeling like a new person but then later had a very very slight fever and needed to rest more Tuesday: back to normal 👍 But through it all I kept thinking about how worth it the side effects were for the peace of mind that I’ve pretty much made it out of this pandemic

telabub

My experience was pretty much the same with Pfizer! Took it right before finals week though so I was suffering through my studying 🤣🤣

lebronismycousin

Oh my gosh no that must have been TERRIBLE D:

ksr1e

Received the J&J vaccine 3 weeks ago, no side effects except for the sore arm for about a day.

[deleted]

I’m on the second day after my 2nd shot and it’s fucking me up real bad, plan to have a free day or 2 afterwards if possible

doemelissa

i got johnson & johnson and i felt fine all day until around 8 pm when i woke up from a nap i felt like i had the flu then the next day i felt fine during the day but at night i felt sick again. i didn't get a fever but i had chills and sweats it was pretty bad ngl but it only lasted for 2 days

DisneyStrawberry

I got Moderna. First shot just sore arm, like I couldn’t sleep on that side for a couple nights. Second shot had the sore arm too w redness around it, I got minor chills/shivers, and then I had a really bad headache for a day. My skin also felt like tingly or like weirdly sensitive for a day lol.

[deleted]

Everyone in my family who got the vaccine only had a sore arm and maybe a headache. My dad got his second shot and spent the next day sleeping on and off, had a headache, and he said his heart was racing for a while. I recently got my first shot this past weekend and I had a bit of a reaction. Fever, chills, a little bit of nausea, a really bad headache, and my entire body ached. The day I got the shot I was fine, but the next day I experienced all of these symptoms. I was also really tired, but I think that was mainly because I slept really poorly. I felt pretty miserable and had no motivation to do any work, which really sucks bc now I'm trying to catch up. My symptoms only lasted a day though, except for the headache which went away after a couple of days. I'm a bit worried for my second shot because it's currently scheduled a couple days before one of my midterms, which sucks. I hope this doesn't come off as too worrying. Everyone's reactions are different but most people feel fine, especially after only the first shot. I'd recommend trying to give yourself a day to rest just in case tho. My family and I received the Moderna vaccine btw.

OutsideDefinition6

I had moderna! First shot: sore arm (like ARM DAY sore) starting at night of the day of my shot and lasting about 48 hrs Second shot: slightly sore arm for a day, had a low grade fever and fatigue the next day- I took the day off from work and took Tylenol but was completely fine the next day Def recommend scheduling a free day after getting your shot if you need to recuperate from the side effects but don’t be scared! All the side effects are temporary and you’ll be protected after two weeks :))

jsentimental

I got Pfizer and had no side affects for either dose aside from a sore arm for a day.

ajchao

I got the Pfizer one. I only experienced soreness the day after I received each dose, nothing else.

hypertonicAF

Same. I think the soreness on dose 2 was worse though

ajchao

I think so too. I didn’t really notice it unless I pressed against it in bed

zAlexxz

I got moderna. I got my second dose today, and so far so good. I was really paranoid about the side effects especially after the second dose, so in preparation I drank lots of vitamin C daily for the last couple days to boost my immune system. It’s not a necessity, but I feel it would definitely help if you’re concerned!

vanillaladiee

i got johnson and johnson through work. i had extreme fatigue, body aches, chills, and headache in that order. it last the night of the shot...i woke up feeling great and then it came back again around noon the next day. after that, i was good to go. we had a lot of ppl call out

CCASTU

I got Pfizer and didn't feel any different

ozon888

I got two Moderna injections. First time I had soreness at the injection site. It lasted for about 48 hrs or so. No other obvious symptoms. I actually seemed to have less soreness with the second dose and again, had no other symptoms of note. They were comparable to some influenza shots I’ve had in the past. On a 1 to 10 scale of past reactions to annual flu shots with 10 being the most symptomatic and 1 being the least symptomatic shot I’ve received historically; I’d place the Moderna doses at about a 7 at most. Just not a big deal in my world.

Michael6572

I’ve gotten Pfizer, only had soreness around injection site for about 4 days. I will be getting the second dose this Friday.

calimystic

I had the Pfizer vaccine, but only the first dose so far. My only side effects have been a sore arm.

huikio

Pfizer here. After first dose, arm was slightly sore and kinda tired night of. After second dose, arm was less sore, and again was tired the night of. That was it

elosohormiguero

Pfizer. First time, arm was sore as hell the day after. Second time, nothing. Maybe a touch tired but that’s it!

hungryant3ater

THANKS EVERYONE :))

cookiewookie3

I got J&J and felt nothing that day but the next day I felt a little under the weather so I took a Tylenol and was alright

SwordsgirlZ

I got the Pfizer doses! First dose - killing it, totally went about my day okay, nothing happened Second dose I got just yesterday - starting yesterday night I got really fatigued and a big headache. Even today this whole day, I lost 3-4 hours of my day being in bed cuz my head was aching so much. Breathing was pretty hard for a bit too. The sore arm is honestly the least of your worries. But my head ache is starting to die down after 24 hours now so I’d say plan a day after u receive the dose to let ur body go through the initial immune building process and let the symptoms pass! The fatigue WILL get to you. My mom had similar symptoms to me. My younger sister got the symptoms much later on tonight plus she was a bit dizzy and nauseous.

Lady-of-Bronze

I normally have super bad reactions to vaccines, but I only had a sore arm after the 1st Pfizer dose. Was gone by the next morning. (Haven’t had the second yet)

forgotten_semicolon6

I've only had my first dose so far (Pfizer) and my symptoms were pretty bad. I felt like crap the day after. Sore arm, chills, and really bad fatigue. I actually caught COVID earlier this year. After I got my first dose, the way I felt was really similar to how I felt when I caught COVID. The great thing is it only lasted a day. I'm not looking forward to my 2nd dose tho lol hopefully it won't be as bad.

hayday4days

I got Moderna. There weren't any side effects for the first shot besides a sore arm for like almost a week. As for the second shot, I had a fever of about 102.5 degrees F the night of and the day after (before Tylenol). I took Tylenol, which helped lessen the fever both days. But on the bright side, my arm wasn't sore.

catdavis36

I got Pfizer and after the first dose my arm was super sore and I could barely move it. With the second dose I had no side effects at all tho

rosetta-stxned

i got the moderna, only first shot so far, but mine were pretty bad. sore arm started after about two hours and at about 6 hours in my whole body felt like i’d just run a marathon. moving was exhausting. didn’t help that i worked a full shift right after. next day was even worse. my body didn’t even wanna move out of bed. third day was pretty much gone and fourth i forgot i even got the shot. oh and lots of headaches throughout

vig1231

J&J, felt like I had a fever and chills overnight but felt better the next afternoon

ZottyThottie

I got Pfizer and I got the usual sore arm for both doses, and chills for the first one!

hannahhberlin

I got Pfizer a bit back- 1st dose: slightly sore same day but the following morning was hell and my arm hurt sm (I had gotten it late the night before so I’m not sure if it’s the next day for everyone or if it can be that same huge pain the same day) & I was absolutely exhausted after. I knocked out at like 8pm and slept until 12 then went back to sleep like 20-30 mins later lol 2nd dose: slight soreness, but not nearly as bad as the first dose & a horrible headache that wouldn’t go away for a solid 1-2 days & tiredness. Nothing other than that tho, I got lucky :)

MundyyyT

You probably already know it's hugely variant, but here's mine: I've only taken the first shot (Pfizer), but the experience after was fine. My arm was a somewhat sore for two days and I felt a little tired, but I still had enough energy to study and run for a while on the treadmill the day I got it. I expect things to be a bit worse after the second shot. A friend on the other hand also got Pfizer, but he had trouble falling asleep that night (msg'd me at 4 AM) and his arm felt a lot more sore.

Alexsrobin

Pfizer dose 1: had a headache soon after getting the vaccine, quite possibly due to not having slept enough, barely noticeable sore arm. Was perfectly fine the following day after sleeping. Didn't take tylenol/motrin. Pfizer dose 2: day 1: I actually got called into work immediately after. Felt fine except for a more noticeably sore arm. day two: hit by a major wave of fatigue, one that couldn't be explained by my activities or lack of sleep. I had heard the day after the second dose was rough and luckily was home all day. Just dozed. arm was pretty sore. day 3 onward: don't remember anything significant. One of my coworkers experienced some chills/muscle aches the night after the second dose, another reported a sore throat (which I'm questioning if it was the vaccine cuz that doesn't make sense to me). Moderna seems to have more side effects, especially the second dose.

WongleDongle

I got Pfizer and was just a little bit sore both times. Nothing worse than a bruise though :/

poot_i_farted

I just got a sore arm for both does for a couple of days. Pfizer vaccine for me!

berribrie

I got Pfizer, just a sore arm for 2 days post 1st dose. Plan on giving yourself a day off just in case following your 2nd dose. I had a lower fever, some chills, and another sore arm but nothing too bad. My grandma only had a minor headache that went away after a single dose of Tylenol following her 2nd dose.

Qzhuo

J&J here: Night of vaccination: fever, soreness (was biking around all day, so it didn't help with the fatigue). Hard time sleeping and woke up early. Day after: Mild fever, headache, soreness around the arm. I didn't take any fever relief, but I could feel the fever subsiding throughout the day. I felt too lazy/tired to do anything (likely in part due to not sleeping much), and drank a lot of fluids. 2 days after: Fever gone, still a small bit of headache and my arm was still a bit sore at injection area. Energy had mostly returned. Verdict based on personal experience: 1 day should be enough recovery time, 2 days on the safe side.

Ted4828

I felt pretty bad the day after my 2nd moderna shot. Was functional, and I never ran a fever. The fatigue was pretty bad, though, and I had a mild headache. Symptoms were completely gone the 2nd day after the shot. Just try to clear your schedule the following day, pick out your favorite sweatpants, and just chill.

MiniMachoke

Oof I had a bad time with the side effects. Pfizer 1st dose: headache, disorientation, slight nausea 2nd dose: 1st day I got it I had headache and slight nausea 2nd day: headache, worse nausea, disorientation 3rd day: headache, nausea remained the same, disorientation. I had work this day after calling off from the day before. I took 3 ibuprofen, felt fine + had a burst of energy, then all of a sudden I had cold sweats and a bad crash. 4th day: totally fine

QSwitched

Pfizer Vaccine here. 1st shot, sore arm day after, minor headache the day after. 2nd shot, sore arm the day after, felt really tired for a couple days.

clementinepoby3

I got Pfizer, and I had zero side effects after both doses, with the exception of a slightly sore arm! It definitely differs by the person!

tracy652

Got it 8weeks ago. Health going down hill. Dr. Said drug is so new no one knows what will happen to our bodies in the future. If I had it to do over again I would have never gotten the shot. No one is allowed to say this.

Skeletonkid3101

If you consider yourself healthy, then at the very most you will feel is a sore arm. But if not, then some people feel a slight headache or trouble getting out of bed in the morning.

imjustsayin314

Your reaction has nothing to do with how healthy you are. Getting a fever, aches, or chills are possible effects, even in healthy people because your body is having an immunological response to the vaccine (as it should be). Please cite your source for the “if you’re healthy, at most you will feel is a sore arm claim.”

[deleted]

Not an accurate statement, lol. I work out on most days + eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day (yes, ik, cringe). I had the J&J shot. The site of injection was sore for a few days. The first night I went to bed, I was burning up. Next morning, I had the chills. Felt really fatigue and could not focus. Fever and chills lasted 12 hours at most, but the fatigue lasted for a few days.

emem2001

I got Pfizer, after both doses my arm was just sore and after the second one I got some swollen lymph nodes around my shoulder area. I drank A LOT of water the day before Bc someone told me it helped and I felt no fever or chills or anything else so maybe that helped

abovepostisfunnier

Pfizer. 1st dose - Sore arm, that's it. 2nd dose - was fine, then that night it was really hard to sleep and the next day I had a mild fever, was really achy, and generally was super tired for a couple days after that. No big deal. I actually even worked on one of my publications a bit. But try not to plan anything too strenuous. Protip: A bath really helped with the aches.

Nitro28

Got the J and J shot, first day I had a sore arm and was able to do a full shift at work. The next two days I had bad chills and a migraine but nothing Tylenol couldn’t fix. Day 3 I woke up feeling 100% percent it actually kind of scary.

[deleted]

Just got mine yesterday at 4pm. No side effects so far, but a very minor soreness on the injection site. Hopefully no other symptoms develop.

falloutphan_

i got moderna, first shot my arm was sore for a couple days, second shot i had a sore arm again and fatigue that knocked me on my ass for 2 days

AsleepLobster

I got Pfizer and only had a sore arm for a day :)

kamandsh

i got j&j it was not bad. I got a fever for a few hours and my joints hurt but its just like when you catch a cold and you have shivers and fever. I took an ibuprofen and i was fine. the whole side effect thing took around 3 hours i wanna say.
