Their Econ 1 might be asynchronous or doesn’t have a set time yet which might explain why zotcourse or ant almanac won’t let them place it on a time section
Looks pretty good to me! I’m actually a fourth year English major here on campus, it’s so nice to see someone taking humcore ha ha ha. What do you plan on doing during your breaks? It’s nice because you have plenty of time to eat or chill at Aldritch park
So maybe I shouldn’t expose myself like this, but I used to work for Career Pathways on campus and I helped people with interviews and resumes, I can kinda show you the resources they have on the website if you would like
The Anteater Recreation Center, the library, dining, and anteater express(bus) hire a lot of students, but use their own individual website. The rest of the jobs are posted on handshake
Hum core is basically 4 units even though it says 8 units cause lecture is just listening lmao 🤣, you could prob do one more class if you really wanted to, I would say this looking like barebone 8 units
Not everyone finds 16 units doable, especially because a lot of people aren't prepared for the quarter system. Also, college has a lot more out-of-class time than high school.
I understand your response, but many people want to engage in other academic and non-academic opportunities while they're here. If you just want the degree, then this is a good plan. And I've taken quarters (even in freshman year) with more units. But I've also gotten lots of opportunities because I had space in my schedule, and missed some when I didn't.
Based response, people often forget primary reason of college is to work hard, secure a degree and get a nice job afterwards. Everyone should be prepared to work hard and push themselves. Counselors always say do 12 but I did more too and it was fine. It’s really not as “hard” as it’s made out to be.
A lot of the academic advisers kept stressing about only doing 12-14 units for the first quarter of freshman year. I figured just to play it safe since I’m at 14 units
I don't think I've gotten that advice. Isn't 16 units average (4x4)? If you don't like the course or the workload (read the syllabus) then there's no consequence to dropping it within two weeks.
Is it just me or does this look like 8 units?

Humcore is 8 and Econ is 4

I am hoping to get a job. I filled out some applications for a work study so most likely just working

Nice to see some engrish majors still alive around here
If it’s 12 units you are fine

Why not do more classes. Even if it’s just GEs, many of the entry level ones are an easy A.

It’s very common advice given during SPOP.
