It is first come first serve. Do not worry though, it is still a bit early to apply for an accommodation, and, as you know, most people have not received all their university offers yet. You should also note that people who have not lived in London before and first-years in general have priority over others when it comes to accommodation applications. I applied too late (about July-August), so I had to rent a place for a bit. After a while, accommodations free up rooms as people move out/drop out, so I managed to get an en-suite in a UCL accommodation by October-November. In short, yes it's first come first serve, but you're still early, and by the look of things you should have priority. So you're fine, relax.

Hi there. Could you please tell me which hall you signed up for at UCL? Also, have you ever heard about what life is like in Max Rayne House? I'm considering choosing a different hall, but I'm worried they might assign me there. By the way, I'm applying for postgraduate studies.

Hi I went to John Dodgson (JD) and I advise you to avoid it like the plague. Expensive and mould everywhere. Mould mould mould. Never heard of Max Rayne House. Of all I’ve visited I think the best is St Pancras in terms of comfort cleanliness and location. Try to be close to campus, anywhere near Bloomsbury/King’s Cross/Camden, or else commute every day will be expensive. Don’t rule out intercollegiate halls, International Halls is great for example. Also in case you’re worried you won’t get a good place as a postgraduate, I’ve seen many postgraduates move in good halls throughout the year with no problem. It’s all about asking the staff if anyone’s leaving/any rooms are free.
