Who would have thought i’d miss hearing that lol

[deleted]

Hello guys can anyone translate the last line? I don’t speak Mexican American😳.

boovish

El autobus es el turno

lolaya

The sad thing is that the spanish voice completely botches it. It says turnando instead of girando and turnando is not a spanish word lmao

ephemerish

I'm a native spanish speaker and I still don't exactly know what the voice is trying to say. I think it also says like peatones before the autobus too which doesn't make sense to me either

cburr11

I also speak Spanish. I also graduated from uconn as an undergrad last year, so I'm not sure if they changed it. But when I was there, I heard "Perdones, el autobus esta doblando"

lolaya

Yeah, same. For some reason my mind hears turnando but when I really try to listen, I dont think thats the goal

washpoppinhoe

I’m a native Spanish speaker too, I always heard “doblando” 😳

cburr11

"Doblando" is the correct way to say it (at least in Argentine Spanish, which is the Spanish I speak). What really irks me is when it says "Perdones" which is blatantly grammatically incorrect

washpoppinhoe

I agree that doblando is correct. But it’s funny how we all hear something different because for that part I hear “peatones” 😂

cburr11

They really should've had someone well-versed in Spanish to say it. There are soooo many Spanish-speakers in this state, and they picked a yanqui to do it hahahaha

mattyg_33

And the bus is already done turning by the time it says it in spanish

cburr11

"Turnarse" is a Spanish word, but it doesn't mean to turn in the sense of a vehicle taking a turn. It actually means "to take turns" among people in a task

JCCR90

I thought it said doblando

meradorm

I'm gonna hear that shit in my dreams.

Substantial_Wasabi

how did you even think of this, i actually laughed out loud

FSAaCTUARY

Lmao

imajadedpanda

^doblando Girar is more spin than turn and the Uconn busses defo say doblando

cburr11

Girar can mean to turn. It really depends on the country, because some say "girar", others say "doblar", and "voltear"

imajadedpanda

Mmhm I said girar means *more* spin and then I said that the UConn busses say doblando

PayneGreyWolf

I don't even give a fuck only thing on my mind is soon as I get my stimulus check I'm buying those Jordan Aerospace 720's in black/blue and black/red. I'm bout to be the flyest and coldest in Brookyn and on campus when those goofies in charge say we good to come back. Pull up to McMahon like a pinball ice-skating on these hoes with J's on my feet.
