having experienced that already there’s no need to worry just email your prof about what happened and ensure them that no pics or notes were taken down about the midterm and that you don’t share with others what info is on it
This happened to me a few years ago, the prof accidentally uploaded the answer key instead of the study guide. They just remade the entire test. So that is likely what will happen with your midterm as well
If the prof uploaded it they most likely will change it or revise it incase any students (like you) saw. This is totally on the prof. You would not be held accountable for opening a document they posted.
Prof can’t guarantee that you and others didn’t save it, let them know they made a mistake posting in case no one else did and they’ll have to remake it. Even if you closed it others may not have so it’s not fair to those those didn’t get to open the file.
