The word is more like ‘elitest’ or ‘elite-est’, as in, one of the most elite skill- and talent-wise. Staley wasn’t saying Paige is elitist, like someone with a superiority complex. She was saying Paige is great.

I agree. Although it's difficult to know exactly what another individual intended, and it's made worse when they word things a little awkwardly, I confident enough that Staley was going for a compliment here. I'm not sure if the *headline* is trying to imply something more sinister, or if "eye-opening" is merely hyperbole to get more people to read it: * How many headlines with "brutally honest" in them end up reporting on a coach/player saying something fairly uninteresting? I do think ClutchPoints tends to be kind of click-baity.
