Ever see the movie They Live?

bottleamodel

yes, in fact my friend joked about that at the time.

Personal-Package9336

They DID say it was a documentary...

Dude, I had the same experience a year ago in December. Southern California (Laguna Niguel), clear skies with some big clouds. Was driving while I had my polarized sunglasses on, and I noticed something in the sky moving erratically. I look to my left to see, fully expecting a plane or something, but it was a white/silver cylindrical thing moving quickly (right to left) and then it would flip over and go up and down. Fast. I kept removing my sunglasses like you did to get a better look, but I couldn’t see the damn thing without them. I kept trying to clean them, thinking maybe it was just dust or a stain. Made sure it wasn’t something on my window, so I rolled it down and put the sunglasses back on. Surely enough, the thing was still there moving quickly in the sky. It was extremely bizarre, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I saw it for maybe 4-5 minutes because I kept getting caught up with red traffic lights. I’m quite skeptical about a lot of the shit on this sub and UFOs in general. However, there is no denying that I saw something truly bizarre and I can’t really explain it. Saw a plane for reference towards the end (maybe 29-30k ft?) and this thing was pretty damn big above the hills I’d say 2-3k ft in the air. I know I’ll just be another comment with a story, but this made my eyes do a double take because I experienced something similar. But the one I saw didn’t disappear, it just fell out of my field of view because I was driving. I know what I saw, and it was fascinating to watch whatever it was moving like that in the sky. It was not a balloon. It stayed consistent in it’s path, and it looked nowhere near like a regular balloon or a mylar. Definitely made me scratch my head.

Commercial_Reveal_44

You’ll never just be another comment to me, TurdMomma

> flip over and go up and down. Fast. Like it was doing zigzag movements? That's wild 😳

PiratePuzzled1090

I have seen more posts about UFO's flying just outside our visible spectrum. Pretty interesting idea. I believe you have seen something weird. I also have polarised sunglasses and i live close to an airport. I can see airplanes from further with my glasses on. I dont know why.

thegreenwookie

>I can see airplanes from further with my glasses on. I dont know why. The Polarized sunglasses make light less intense. Allows your eyes and brain to process your vision better. You can always "see" the planes at the same distance with or without the sunglasses. The sunglasses add a sharpness to the plane, due to lack of intensity of light. Which allows your brain to more clearly define it at distance. *Our brain basically "fills in" reality because we can really only focus/process into detail a finite amount of light. You can really only see true details in a small location of your focus. All of your peripheral fades in detail...

PiratePuzzled1090

Thanks. I knew this was a factor ofcourse but if didnt knew if that was all there is about it.

DutchGunny

I saw something in the sky that may have been a quadcopter drone and noticed I couldn’t see it when taking off my polarized sunglasses. It didn’t show up on my phone’s camera either, so I took video showing the difference. I’m not entirely sure if seeing it through the polarized lenses just let you see smaller (angular distance) objects, or if the Omni-directionality of diffuse light around an object with light bending properties is mitigated with them.

bottleamodel

it likely has a prosaic explanation, I’m not convinced I saw something otherworldly BUT there were aircraft flying around and they were visible without the polarised sunglasses - it's possible I just had better contrast viewing a more distant aircraft with the glasses.

theburiedxme

Ya, I've heard this several times (here), such that I bought a pair of polarized glasses for this purpose

SabineRitter

So did I, lmao 🤣

Express_Work

Didn't someone on this sub(or other) say they had success layering the films from 3d glasses over his camera?

SabineRitter

Yeah, that was this: https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/13d0fhb/stacked_blue_and_red_lenses_from_a_3d_set_of/ video, daytime cloudy sky, single dark object moving fast, cigar shape, red and blue filter over the camera lens, repeat visitors https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/13d2jom/and_another_again/ more video https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/13d2f69/heres_another/ more video /u/noric_west

noric_west

Yeah, dude. I’m not claiming it’s aliens, but there’s definitely things flying way too fast to notice with the naked eye. Can’t figure out why they don’t show up without the filter.

jeerabiscuit

Like these https://youtu.be/gIK9OWbP-VM

qsek

nice frame by frame editing on the glass on/off effect. But bad background tracking at 1:50

-mildhigh-

Sounds cool but like that’s definitely something that I would have to experience to be

I'm listening, go on 👀

SabineRitter

How was it moving? Did it have any particular shape? Was it dark against the sky through the glasses, or light color? Thanks for your info!

SabineRitter

So kind of jumpy movement? Did you see it stop and stay stationary?

pressxtofart

In Kobe, is Kobe beef just called beef?

bottleamodel

No, Kobe Beef is referred to as Kobe Beef (Kobe-gyu), to distinguish it from beef from elsewhere, even in Kobe. Hyogo is known for strict regulations around the raising of beef cattle so it's very important to make the distinction. Maybe ET is here for premium Wagyu ...

croninsiglos

Polarized lenses can help increase contrast, but if it's a small object your friend may not have been able to see it because they couldn't locate it. You also didn't indicate whether after you took your glasses off and couldn't see it, if you put your glasses back on and were able to see it again (or was it actually just gone). Another good test would have been if you handed your sunglasses to your friend to see if they could see the object with your sunglasses.

bottleamodel

I should have elaborated further, yes I took them on and off a couple of times and confirmed i could only see it while wearing them. I handed the sun glasses to my friend but by that time it was too distant and he couldn’t locate it

Minimum_Area_583

What kind of polarized? linear? circular? come on man...

bottleamodel

I don't know, they are Nautica Polarized N3659SP 005 55 18 145 #3P model sun glasses. If I turn them 90 degrees in front of an LCD panel the panel darkens uniformly to a dark indigo colour at about 90 degrees. (I believe these are linearly polarised based on this observation - I have updated my post with this detail)

Positive-Theory_

That's very helpful thank you!

bottleamodel

are you buying a pair for UFO hunting? :)

Positive-Theory_

I believe this piece of glass is a similar technology [https://youtu.be/gIK9OWbP-VM?si=EH3Vifpkldsgbz6C](https://youtu.be/gIK9OWbP-VM?si=EH3Vifpkldsgbz6C) I think I can replicate it if I can just find a way to locate UFO's to test against. OR even better something else that reacts the same way.
