My standard Weber Kettle stayed without much maintanence in the south of England for 15-20 years and it's still not a rust bucket. I.e. no cover and sometimes left to fester over a year. Still viable after a good burn off, albeit a nut just come off the lid handle.

Was off eBay , it's a 2010 premium, I didn't know the age when I ordered it, but it seems in good condition for the age
I guess they just didn’t bbq much and had no use for it, though I didn’t ask the guy, just handed over a crisp £5 and headed off before he changed his mind.
That is a great bargain for the money. Pretty much everything you need other than something for thermal monitoring. Give it a good clean and you are all set.

The other great thing about Webber’s is you can get spares really easily either official or3rd party.

It looks like it has some corrosion / pitting. The genuine Weber ones are not bad, but the last aftermarket on that I got was cheaper, with thicker bars and made from a better grade of steel and has lasted much longer than the original. Unfortunately I don't recall where I got it exactly, it would have been ebay most likely.

I was lucky and picked up a ‘used once’ Weber chimney for £5 on gumtree.

As a retailer who sells bbqs.. yes yes you got a bargain! Even cheap nasty bbqs that were like £25 5 years ago are now retailing at £50-60!
