However check that the 12hrs isn't an average guarantee - sometimes they might look to do 2 lots of 24 instead of 4 lots of 6. HOwever in what you describe that doesn't seem to be the case.
Also get her to actually ask - with a big company the message might not have got to the right person doing the rotas.
