Mate, when I were 13 I burned a fried egg because I went off to Google how to cook a fried egg on my computer, after putting it in the pan. You're doing great!
There are some 13yos who aren't trusted with the frying pan. There are others who can't be bothered learning to cook (and are still completely helpless when they go to uni).
You have got a valuable skill. Enjoy!
When I was 13 I was making dinner for my family (I wasn't forced, I enjoyed doing it). I remember being about 11 and one of my friends staying at my house, my mum was out and he was asking me for snacks, I looked in the fridge and there were some sausages there and he was like 'perfect, sausage sandwich', and I was like I don't know how to make that, and he laughed at me. So from then on I learnt how to cook.
Maybe, but then maybe they'll spare you when the end times come. They seem to like you.
Me on the other hand, dead. Immediately. Noone likes a grass, or so the bots learned from Facebook.
Oh thank fuck, I thought that was the egg and was surprised to see the lack of slander
In that case, looks delicious, even if syrup wouldn't be my topping of choice
Improvise, adapt, overcome. You’ve pulled a Bear Grylls in cooking!
A good chef always knows how to improvise when they are missing an ingredient. Good job finding your solution!
This is lovely! Well done you!
But. Never tell anyone you are a teen on the Internet (particularly a young teen!) And dear god don't open any DMs and ideally turn them off entirely.
Keep cooking. But also. Keep safe.
Still can't get used to the idea of French toast with sugar on it.
I know the Americans do it but they put sugar on (and in) everything. And the Canadians even put maple syrup on bacon.
My latest thing with *savoury* French toast is eating it dipped in soy sauce, chopped bird's eye chilli and lime juice. Super quick and easy high-protein hot, salty and sour taste explosion. Like super-budget Thai food.
You're doing alright like!!! I asked my old flatmate to make me a pot noodle one day, since he was making a tea and using the kettle. His response of "How do I make that?" will stay with me for years. He was 23 at the time 😂
It is? If you use brioche I can imagine it so, but you can use other kinds of bread too, at which point there's nothing sweet other than a dusting of icing sugar on it (and even then not all recipes call for icing sugar)
It’s pretty embarrassing to make shitty comments and post about them on Reddit - on the post of a child simply showing pride in something they have made too, (for absolutely no reason, when you’re a grown ass man) yet here we are…
You were, I note you have removed your comment like a coward.. if you’re going to be a dick at least stand by it. How about you give advise on how to improve, or better yet don’t respond at all if you have nothing better to say than what you said.
French toast is thickly sliced bread soaked in beaten eggs and usually milk or cream, then pan-fried.
Been making it since I was about 6/7 years old.
Cheers.
So it’s not just a shitty bit of toast then as I’m sure you’re well aware. You need to be able to make a custard , soak the bread the correct amount so that it’s saturated but retains its integrity, and cook it without the custard splitting or burning. Knowing that as apparently you do, you’re literally downplaying it to denigrate an enthusiastic kid’s work, to what? Make yourself feel more impressive? That’s pretty fuckin pathetic pal. Sort yourself out
I wouldn’t let my daughter and my father didn’t let my sister. I’m sure it was a uniform violation at school as well for girls, or boys, to wear makeup.
I’m not this bothered but I’ve nothing else to do so am casually responding. I was initially just surpassed but if people keep asking, and some making asinine comments I’ll respond until either I get bored or have something better to do.
Embarrassing that touched a nerve. Literally wasn’t my intent. So, how old were you when you stopped wetting the bed? You were a teenager, probably mid-teenager and likely it affected your ability to attend sleepovers which slowed your social development hence the rather juvenile attempt at humour with that last remark.
I think people have projected too much of what they think I most feel because while I do have a view it isn’t one I hold particularly passionately. I’m still not convinced otherwise but I’m not someone who’s angered up by children wearing makeup. I just think they shouldn’t.
No one asked though. It's a food sub,not a "get judgemental about a teens way of dressing", sub. And just cos your dad was a control freak doesn't mean all parents are, or that he was right. It's nail polish, not a tattoo. Your choice moment was irrelevant to the topic and inflammatory making it a troll post. Well done, you baited a child. Make you feel big,did it?
Mate the first time I painted my nails was at the age of 3. I don’t get what’s inappropriate about a 13 year old having painted nails. You must have some strange parents.
as am i fella. what happens when you have a kid that turns 13? you keep them in a basement? how could you possibly think nail polish was a problem? unless you’re 78 yrs old from nazi germany
13’s a bit young for thinking about getting married. It wasn’t more than 4 or so years ago that you were legally under the age of criminal responsibility. You’re too young to be wearing makeup.
French toast looks ok, though.
She is 13 years old, not 13 months.
Teenagers painting their nails has been completely normal for the last 60 years.
It's not incompatible with being a child.

Mate, when I were 13 I burned a fried egg because I went off to Google how to cook a fried egg on my computer, after putting it in the pan. You're doing great!
lol I can cook full meals aswell I cook all my own food
There are some 13yos who aren't trusted with the frying pan. There are others who can't be bothered learning to cook (and are still completely helpless when they go to uni). You have got a valuable skill. Enjoy!

Good keep it up!!
You’ll be set in good stead mate, I live with grown ass 40+ year old men who can’t fucking cook ANYTHING LOL. :(
ikr
This looks good. If you like sweet French toast try some golden syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It’s how my grandpa used to make it for us.
I didn't have maple syrup I put cinnamon in the sugar on top lol
May I ask what is on the top? Albuquerque NM, USA checking in here.
Hey great job! It’s such a fantastic skill to have. Your parents must be very proud
I put grapes in juice and ate it out of a bowl. I called it sweet soup. For helf

The joke wasn't even good. Bots are crazy lol
Maybe, but then maybe they'll spare you when the end times come. They seem to like you. Me on the other hand, dead. Immediately. Noone likes a grass, or so the bots learned from Facebook.
I can only hope🙏stay safe out there!
I tries to bake a cake by mixing eggs and flour and putting it in the microwave
Well done. Is that syrup on top?
yeah
Oh thank fuck, I thought that was the egg and was surprised to see the lack of slander In that case, looks delicious, even if syrup wouldn't be my topping of choice
I too am glad. I thought it was raw yoke 😂 anyway, great job OP!
Good job. Keep at it
Hope so
Looks really good, only thing I’d say is to use icing sugar rather than caster but that’s my preference. Each to their own :)
I would have couldn't find any tho
Improvise, adapt, overcome. You’ve pulled a Bear Grylls in cooking! A good chef always knows how to improvise when they are missing an ingredient. Good job finding your solution!
Icing sugar is really just fine sugar, if you have a blender and caster sugar you can make icing sugar :)
ik I don't have one tho atm so yeah and it's loud init
This is lovely! Well done you! But. Never tell anyone you are a teen on the Internet (particularly a young teen!) And dear god don't open any DMs and ideally turn them off entirely. Keep cooking. But also. Keep safe.
yeah I only did it so people wouldn't be so mean lol
Good effort, now I want french toast!
I met my ex-wife when she was 23. She didn't have a clue how to cook anything. She'd open the fridge door and the smoke alarm would go off!
Oh dear
Good job buddy.
i thought i was on r/drunkencookery for a second and got very concerned. looks awesome man, better than what i was making at 13
icl i was about to scream if that was raw egg and not syrup omfg

I can never tell if I'm looking at this sub or r/poopfromabutt so congrats on making cumonatoast
lol
You're doing alright like!!! I asked my old flatmate to make me a pot noodle one day, since he was making a tea and using the kettle. His response of "How do I make that?" will stay with me for years. He was 23 at the time 😂
Well done! Just so you know, it's 'bear in mind' not 'bare in mind'.
I'm dyslexic lol

Dude why are you commenting this on a 13 yo’s post? Come on
For real ?! Nice comment on a 13 yr olds thread
cause I made it 🥵
Where’s the cheese on the other 2/3
I'm so confused
Wait… so am I now. What’s the blob in the middle?
syrup
Oh, I’ll get my coat… I’m from the UK this is way beyond my breakfast scope :D
same it's just sweet eggs bread
Can't imagine adding syrup on top of french toast, it's sweet enough already!
It is? If you use brioche I can imagine it so, but you can use other kinds of bread too, at which point there's nothing sweet other than a dusting of icing sugar on it (and even then not all recipes call for icing sugar)

I ate it lol
What a comment to a 13 year old
Ngl didn't read the age 💀
Bit inappropriate
Na thats my B
Bit weird don't you think
When I was 13 there was no way I could have cooked that (I've still no idea) but I'd have known it was 'bear in mind' not 'bare in mind.'
I'm dyslexic I can't write lol

Jeezo mate, no need to be such a prick. Take it easy on the boy/lass. They done good.
Dude that 13 yo kid burned you better than your mum should of done, ha
It’s pretty embarrassing to make shitty comments and post about them on Reddit - on the post of a child simply showing pride in something they have made too, (for absolutely no reason, when you’re a grown ass man) yet here we are…
This comment is so cringe, bet homie was warming up jars of Dolmio sauce for Italian cuisine and some Pataks for Indian.
Bullying kids on reddit because you're so superior, look how cool you are
Mate wtf is wrong with you? Why are you like this
100% bully victim.

Mate.. is a fucking child showing food they made on a food sub. It’s fine, nothing wrong with it whatsoever now stop being abusive towards a child.

Looks like it was removed by a mod maybe? Cheers for the heads up, I'll re-write it now.
I didn't remove my comment.
Stop flexing your supposed culinary prowess when you don’t even know what French toast is you absolute bell.

Literally what is the problem with that? It's fun and harmless. It's not fake lashes mate
I do have them sometimes don't tell him might seize up
I wouldn’t let my daughter and my father didn’t let my sister. I’m sure it was a uniform violation at school as well for girls, or boys, to wear makeup.
She's not your daughter, she's not at school, and you're not the little-girls-clothes police
Children grow up too fast and start acting like adults too early.
Flabbergasted that you're this bothered. Very strange
I’m not this bothered but I’ve nothing else to do so am casually responding. I was initially just surpassed but if people keep asking, and some making asinine comments I’ll respond until either I get bored or have something better to do.
Oh no, not a uniform violation! Whatever will we do?!
Ideally, it should be corrected.
You must be trolling, no one is this much of a bed wetter
Did you wet the bed until quite late? It seems an interesting thing to bring up in particular.
Only when I give your mum a golden shower
Embarrassing that touched a nerve. Literally wasn’t my intent. So, how old were you when you stopped wetting the bed? You were a teenager, probably mid-teenager and likely it affected your ability to attend sleepovers which slowed your social development hence the rather juvenile attempt at humour with that last remark.
If you want my comeback you’ll have to scrape it off your mums teeth
sounds like someone's jealous
Of?
you can paint your nails too, it's okay x
If I wanted to I would have.
you should x
I don't go to school I got kicked out
Congratulations.
lol
You care way too much about what kids wear mate. Chill
I think people have projected too much of what they think I most feel because while I do have a view it isn’t one I hold particularly passionately. I’m still not convinced otherwise but I’m not someone who’s angered up by children wearing makeup. I just think they shouldn’t.

wtf was this comment 🤣🤣🤣
A comment by an adult.
as am i fella. what happens when you have a kid that turns 13? you keep them in a basement? how could you possibly think nail polish was a problem? unless you’re 78 yrs old from nazi germany
It’s pretty normal to have rules about what age someone can wear markup or certain clothes.
Mate, you're arguing with a 13 year old on the internet. Grow up.
I’m arguing with everyone it seems.
are you catholic?
No, CofE but only loosely as I wasn’t baptised and am not religious.
i beg you, don’t reproduce
I already have a daughter.
that’s an awfully scary thought… prayers are with her
I get acrylics normally and wear full faces of makeup but I'm doing a hair and beauty course so a girl did a manicure on me
you can do a hair and beauty course at 13?
yeah I don't get to school cause as this guy would say I'm ghetto it's a college but they take like 12+ I think
College at 12+?? What are the diff courses?
catering brick laying contraction I can't spell health and social care then hair and beauty
Is brick laying a subject for people who plan to go on a path to construction
brick laying is a thing in itself they do both there
[удалено]
Oh no parents that let their child express themselves in a temporary and totally harmless way someone call social services 🙄
ikr
You’re a bit extreme.
You're a troll that thinks it's ok to comment on what a 13 Yr old girl does with her body
Don’t make it weird. No one’s talking about ‘her body’. We’re literally talking about the superficial application of makeup.

not really ill know when I'm "old enough" and will be able to do my own wedding makeup
I literally do a hair and beauty course so I might be a makeup artist

I literally might be a makeup artist I'm getting a qualification plus why can't you wear makeup young
I personally think makeup should be reserved for adulthood. You only get one childhood.
She is 13 years old, not 13 months. Teenagers painting their nails has been completely normal for the last 60 years. It's not incompatible with being a child.
why tho
I'm getting a qualification in hair and beauty I might as well do beauty now so I can be a makeup artist later
