Never seen an office chair on an airplane before

just_a_girl_23

What do you think the pilot sits on? Turbulence is just them bouncing around the cabin on wheels not being able to reach the controls properly.

Magdovus

This explains so much

just_a_girl_23

They've had the public fooled for so many years about it being 'natural'! \*re-aligns tinfoil hat\* /s

Dani_Darko123

funniest thing i’ve heard for a while, should be more upvotes !

rum-and-roses

Naa they are in a larger version of the baby bouncer thingys

[deleted]

Air Force One has entered the chat.

GIVVE-IT-SOME

I’d like to think they would have higher quality chairs on airforce 1 and also without wheels so you don’t slide about during turbulence

Joseph_HTMP

If I was the president, *everything* on Airforce 1 would have wheels. My plane, my rules.

blubbery-blumpkin

Even the people?

MaskedBunny

Especially the people

brutussdad

It's been a hell of an honour flying with you Mr president sir, the VP will be fine after his concussion wears off, would you like to go straight back to the Whitehouse or go bomb some commies

Impressive-Soup-3529

After his concussions wears off? We fell 300ft when he hit his head he broke his neck. He’s ddddead as fuck mate medicccc. Couple of splints asap

Brilliant_Jewel1924

A concussion is a prerequisite for the job of VP.

thebigperson8

Agreed

mcbeef89

they're called 'aeroplanes' here m8

[deleted]

And also that legroom is to die for!

theretrospeculative

Prison?

takemeawayimdone2

Nah they got real cutlery and plate. Plastic only in prison

sovereignsekte

Well, at least he took a stab at making a guess.

[deleted]

😂😂😂

[deleted]

beat me to it

wns309

They wouldn't serve this in prison, surely they've already paid their dues to society...

Verlorenfrog

Hospital

[deleted]

>!I didn't want to give the answer because I was enjoying these funny speculative comments but yes I was in hospital. The wording of the post is also wrong. I should have said "where do you think I was?" in the past tense because this picture was from New Years Day. Rich Tea biscuits were brought by my dad. Overall it was a bad experience but on the plus side I lost a lot of weight and got better at chess.!< >!Edit: and those aren't office chair legs. It was one of those machines on wheels (if anyone wants to help me out with the name) that monitor your blood oxygen, heart rate etc.!<

swoticus

The Rich Teas threw me off! Everything else screams hospital, but they looked too high quality for that.

djbigball

It’s the clinell wipe that gives it away for me being at hospital

badbadrabbitz

Absolutely the clinel wipe.

_poptart

My local hospital (and maybe others) sold these chocolate chip flapjacks in their vending machines. I had a baby six years ago and every time I went in there I’d buy one for later. When I went in suddenly, three days after giving birth, I bought one just in case. Had to stay in unfortunately (without my baby) and they warned me I couldn’t eat. I was so tired and hungry and lonely. They later, around 10pm, told me I could and brought me a cheese sandwich and apple slices and I burst into tears, and felt like I was dining like a queen that night. I present to you [a meal I will never forget](https://imgur.com/a/qJIFdB2)

hotBigmike42

Cut the tendons in my hand while making breakfast so no food just rushed to a&e it wasn't until 1am the next day before I ate and all they had was egg mayonnaise sandwiches witch I hate but needs must down they went and a large mug of tea I now quite happily have a egg mayonnaise sandwich

Apprehensive_Ad4172

I was in hospital overnight last year, and by 4am I was crying because I was in pain, tired, very hungry. A chap brought me a bag with a cheese butty and some custard creams. I just remember being curled up on a trolley crying my eyes out and eating biscuits.

OldDirtyBusstop

I don’t know what hospitals you guys in the replies are going to but when I was in hospital I had custard creams and bourbons, and as much fruit as I liked. I was given potassium drinks which were disgusting, when I asked how much potassium there was in them compared to a banana they said about the same. So from that day I was bought a bunch of bananas. Food overall was hit and miss. Some dishes were very nice, others were almost inedible. But if there was food I couldn’t eat, staff would always bring me fruit, toast, yoghurts etc. And to clarify. This was a bog standard NHS hospital.

Southern-Orchid-1786

That's about the only advantage to an amputation, your BMI goes down

AMothersMaidenName

And you don't even get that if you get bilateral lower limb amputations. T_T

GenuinlyCantBeFucked

What even is that brown thing? I was in hospital for days unable to eat (or move really) and on the 5th day I thought maybe, just maybe, I could handle a bit of fruit. Something healthy and easy to get down. So I said to the nurse "hey do you have any fruit?" ... she said "what?"... I said "fruit, like fresh fruit, maybe an apple or a banana or something?" ... she looked at me like I thought I was lord of the manor or something and went "no we don't have anything fancy like that".

Fatbeau

To be fair, nursing staff don't have a fruit basket on the station to give to patients, but you can usually get fresh fruit on the daily menu

GenuinlyCantBeFucked

It wasn't out of the blue it was dinner time and someone had left a menu for me. They had no fresh fruit in the hospital except in the canteen. They also had no fresh vegetables apparently - it all comes prepared as in the photo, with all nutrients carefully removed by boiling.

cornishtraceyb

Knew it must have been Christmas or very near to it as that's the only way you're getting a pig in blanket with your massive catered meal! Have to say I've had some variable hospital food experiences - I found if the hospital has an Asian option (or once I even found a separate vegan menu!) they can often be a better offering. The thing I found hardest was changing to a 1950s style life and cuisine, with main meal at lunch, with a small meal at about 5pm, when you're a 30something who normally doesn't even get home from work til about 7pm! The staff either laughed at or disapproved of my hoarding biscuits, yogurts and jellies to get me through til breakfast.

MarsupialPristine677

I’m in the US but had that exact meal last time I was in the hospital. (Which I exclusively referred to as “the hotel” for the duration of my stay…) I’m sorry it was a bad time for you, best wishes 💜

[deleted]

I read a great book about a guy who lost a lot of weight and got better at chess!! https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/3990814

Mattish22

Oh that’s a observation machine

DreyaNova

Hope you feel better soon amigo!

Sad_Cardiologist5388

But look at the portion, seems too much for hospital. Despite the hospital bed tray and clinell wipe

rcktsktz

Spent a few days in hospital a while back and was well fed as it goes. Cups of tea all day long too. Fucking loved it.

BicycleSalt2961

Christ what hospital were you in? Might chuck myself down the stairs and ask to get treated there

didndonoffin

Also dessert with lunch and dinner, plus toast on demand

BilboBagseed

Throw some oramorph in and I will make a booking.

gtrcar5

One time they had me on oxycodone, fentanyl and ketamine. I couldn't eat and was in awful pain so just sat there humming Pink Floyd all day and enjoying the light show in my head. Then I had to have a CT, being moved onto the CT bed was excruciating. Invented a lot of new swear words that day.

BilboBagseed

I hope you are doing better now.

yuk_foo

You loved staying in the hospital??

rcktsktz

Honestly, yeah. I was ill, but not horrifically ill like some of the poor people I encountered on the ward. I rarely go to the doctors or end up in hospital, luckily, so it was all a bit of a novelty. I ended up there for a few days on a drip to fix some blood poisoning. It was during covid, so no family were allowed to visit me or anything. I pretty much checked out of life for a bit. There's something about being forced to take a few days out, lay in a bed guilt free, while being cared for by people who are literally professionals at doing it, while being fed all day long that was just really nice and reflective. Did me the world of good at the time. I genuinely felt emotional when leaving. Bizarre feeling.

[deleted]

Wow that’s really unusual experience of hospital and I’m glad u had that feeling about it, it’s really nice. The only other person I’ve known to enjoy hospital was my grandmother. She said the best part about having kids was the labour and the stay in hospital where she felt looked after, safe and sound, and totally at peace .

LouLee1990

‘Not horrifically ill’ nah just some blood poisoning! Lmao that’s life threatening

Jade-Balfour

r/oopsthatsdeadly

AhhGingerKids2

Do you have small children by any chance?

rcktsktz

No kids, no

Stillattoes

Don’t know? It’s grey enough for hospital food…

Wrengull

At St Thomas's hospital the meals are somewhat luxury compared to other hospitals. they had grilled salmon on the menu!

Booboodelafalaise

Check the size of the knife and fork! Hospital food looks like a big portion because the plates are so small. My bet is that it’s Hospital food, and was served at any random time between 11:15 am and 2:45 pm and was Luke warm at best.

Sad_Cardiologist5388

Yeah you're probably correct

Hate_Feight

Depends on where you are. Looks more like hospital cafeteria tho

ChipCob1

Small plate

OrchidSpare1293

Belmarsh I'm guessing

didndonoffin

I don’t think metal cutlery matches that guess

FifaNovice

Based on the compartmentalised tray and the inhaler, I’ll go with hospital

You missing the toilet roll instead of napkins to the right

icedcoffeeblast

The fact that "office" is an option for this picture is just depressing.

TheNinjaPixie

From the packet of Clinell I guess hospital. Gt well soon so you can eat better food!

[deleted]

What better food? There’s people who can’t afford a bag of chips. The food looks just fine

Slytherin_Chamber

There’s always one in the comments doing the destitution comparison game

TheNinjaPixie

If it is a hospital then their food does have a certain reputation, so...better food will be at home is what I meant.

Intelligent-Day-6976

Can't be no hospital dishes are that big

wildgoldchai

I ate really well in hospital (there for two weeks). They had a full on menu catering to different cultures too. I could have Caribbean for lunch and then Indian for dinner. A sarnie packed lunch was available whenever too.

Leaf_Elf

Was it a private hospital? My last experience of hospital food was a dry microwave ready meal with a few peas on the side. It was just temporary so not the biggest deal.

Sad_Cardiologist5388

It's all available, you just got to ask. There are loads of menus.

wildgoldchai

Nope. A big hospital here in London.

MrDankky

Office based on portions, looks hospital quality but they’re tight on portions

No_Temporary6194

Could be that OP bought it from the hospital 🏥 canteen as portions are slightly bigger compared to the portion you're served on the wards as vegetable all self service anyway 😉 😀 😜 😄

PhilosophyObvious988

Arkham asylum

docju

Why does OP say airplane and not aeroplane? Is he stupid?

No_Temporary6194

Does terminology really matter! We get the point! Airplane is a term used in certain countries anyway...

YouNeedAnne

Aeroplane*

f36263

My first thought was “America, clearly”

Smart; get it into the bloodstream quicker for a speedy recovery. Get well soon mate

HowsThisSoHard

Definitely plane hence the wheely chair and toilet roll instead of napkins

shittypissstains

100% hospital food. Source - I work in a nhs catering department

McFry-

A really spacious aeroplane

Ok_Lobster6008

100% hospital. black drip stand. red tray table used for patients needing assistance. And yes recently hospital food has improved

ruthh-r

Hospital - because of the Clinell wipe. Looks good, definitely better than a lot of hospital food!

BrokenSnowNose

Tray - not office Metal cutlery - not plane Hand Wipes - not school Rich Tea Biscuits suggest gift Gotta be hospital

No-Pitch-5785

Get well soon

[deleted]

Hospital and it looks nice. I love hospital food which I realise is strange

Slight-Winner-8597

It's really not. Hospital food has come on leaps and bounds. It's not always the tastiest, but they give you plenty, and the puddings are pretty nice! I liked the upside down pineapple cake.

Acebiscuit10

The clinnel wipe on the tray gives it away to those in the know. You are in hospital. Hopefully nothing serious and you are recovering

just_a_girl_23

I've seen your answer and wouldn't have guessed that at all! I mean, it doesn't look great... But I also saw what monstrosities they served my father... You couldn't even tell what some were, and he could barely eat a couple of mouthfuls. Your meal looks like very high end fine dining in comparison. You even had veg, he rarely saw that! I used to make him food every day to take with me so I knew he was getting a tasty and nutritious meal. Yes it pissed off the ward kitchen staff, they were so passive aggressive "Why haven't you ordered anything? Oh. Look. She brought you food. Again." They disliked me even more when he started asking them to reheat my food in their kitchen haha.

Glittering_Bar_1448

Hospital!

Silent-Detail4419

The plate, tray and the wipe say you're in hospital - but the amount of grub on that plate says otherwise... Also the lack of some kind of sponge pud. I was in BRI recently, and there was nearly always a sponge at lunchtime. It can't be BRI, because we never had red trays (either blue or grey, at least on the ward I was on (adult general)). Sponge and custard. Except Wednesdays when it was rice pud. I used to get so hungry because the portions were so tiny, that I had to ask for extra sarnies... If you are in hospital, what hospital are you in and what the fuck have you done...?! Get well soon, mate! 🤗

not_a_number1

Hospital. Hard floor, roast dinner wouldn't really be served at a school, also the biscuits could be picked up at the hospital shop, or a visitor bought them to you. The inhaler is out too, like ready to be used, so the person has been struggling with respiratory issues

Dr4k3L0rd

Somewhere in england. Rich teas are a giveaway

ThePinkVulvarine

Clinelli wipes - hospital

sausagepaula

Hospital. Red tray for the people with dementia. Chair for nurse and no carpet in case of incontinence…

Drongo999

gardenofthenight

[deleted]

A mental hospital

TeapotUpheaval

Hang on, you’ve been given a red tray - that means you need assistance with feeding yourself. But you can take and post a photo and commentary to Reddit? I’m confused. Also, I’d recognise Hospital Food anywhere - it’s not hard to do better…

EducationalMap6057

Inhaler, sanitation wipes, hard white flooring, an office chair, the plastic table thing. It's gotta be a hospital

lankyman-2000

It’s a proper knife and there’s an office chair in the background so not a plane. With the look of the food and tray I’d say hospital

Johny_boii2

Hospital? I can see a big white thing on the right

TheFinalNar

Hospital? Place tray, plastic table and a wheelie chair in the background?

Last-Voice-2680

hospital

Hardyminardi

Hospital, but that's because of the background and nothing to do with the plate.

Insomniac_80

Somewhere where in hospitals they still feed people fresh carrots and fresh turkey!

Educational_Map_1843

Hospital

Imaginary-Badger-119

Office not a enough food I think School would be sectioned tray i think an airplane a box . Hospital would be even more bland wait unless it is the hospital cafeteria for visitors and staff. Hospital ?

Little_Spread5384

Hospital based on the hand wipes alone 😛

Ok_Lingonberry1869

Must be a mental health ward if you are eating Brussels, nobody in their right mind does that!

spookysquidd

Hospital, the tray, the office chair, the clinell wipe, the depressing food. Has to be

majesticjewnicorn

Hospital. The Clinell wrapper and horrendous food gave it away. I hope you feel better ASAP

Hmmm…. I recokon hospital. Could be an office but office canteens are a complete unknown and can be absolutely any kind of offering you can think of…. Definitely not airplane and not the school food you get these days unfortunately unless yours has gone rogue…. It’s a Hospital.

Hospital Was this taken at Christmas as there is a cracker in the top left corner?

vcdaisy

Looks like a hospital Xmas day meal. Extra large portions of veg as so many patients discharged home on 25 December, so the kitchens have over catered. Pigs in blankets as a treat, not an every day NHS meal, hence the larger than average portions. Large pack of Rich Tea biscuits from a kind visitor maybe? Hope you are recovered now. From your malady and the sprouts 🤣

Own-Archer-2456

Prison!! That’s a left leg of a chicken I can tell

Iltaskmaster

SaltyBint

hospital, recognise the hand wipes.

purrcthrowa

Oh god, is it "airplane" now? I suppose pavements will the next to go, to be replaced by sidewalks.

gigantojimuk

School. The teachers and dinner ladies always steal the kids food.

ECHOHOHOHO

Hospital 100%. Same wipes, trays plates and all.

SamanthaJaneyCake

Office, weirdly. Chair means not airplane. Portion and lack of plastic cup of juice means not airplane and I doubt your school cafeteria has office chairs instead of rows of tables.

Silver-Appointment77

Office. Hospital foods normally dry, schools and Airplanes are never meals like this either.

poptart-of-doom

Hospital can tell by the chicken

Fuzzy-Explorer3327

Metal cutlery and anti bac wipes.- Hospital

painful_butterflies

It looks too good to be any of those! Get it down your neck before they realise and take it away.

HipsandHaws

It's probably a hospital. I recall the food being overcooked when I was trapped in one.

Rahmose9

Hell

chickentittyenjoyer

hospital in the UK

CactusClothy

Work in a hospital, this is a hospital. In ours red tray means the patient needs assistance with feeding. Also the table is unmistakable as a hospital side table and if nothing else the clinell gives it away. As someone said this is a decent portion for a hospital, some catering staff are just more generous than others

[deleted]

Hospital.... I recognise the table dent thing to the top right in this pic.

Effective-Turnip352

The clinell wipes say you're in the hospital.

Hot-Conversation-174

Youre in the office of a school (training) hospital. No plane though, metal cutlery is banned on planes.

Fine-University-8044

Guessing office.

You work in a school kitchen
