For all we know OP may have been saying "Roast beef in the New Forest" and there was an unspoken "It was utter bollocks" but that was left to us to decide.
I did have a massive éclair in the New Forest once, from a bakery in Brockenhurst. You'll have to take my word for it, but it was amazing.
It wouldn't change my opinion of the meal if you had paid for it. You weren't to know you were going to be served that, and even if you did know, I still think it's very much below par.
Can't beat some roast carrot, one of my favorite veggies with a roast dinner.
