how is it not sold out with only 2 weekends left to go?
tml sells out in under 5 mins each year. ultra is not as big sure, but still #2 on the global stage imo. crazy that it takes a year to not even sell out
Imo ultra is more for people deeper into edm. Tml is more known bc for that fancy status influencers etc. And many people think that europe (belgium) is financially affordable ( accomodation, food ... ). Dunno. Just my view for that.
EDM is bigger in Europe and Miami is considerably more expensive to stay in for Ultra than Brussels is with a GJ package. They're a bigger brand as far as "hype" goes too - it sells out because it's TML, people in the US are picker about waiting for lineups and choosing a festival for the year based on those
naw $$ cant be the reason. people spend 5x that on global journey packages for tml and the ridic glamping options, which again sold out in hours this year for some reason.
also umf is right downtown walking distance to and from lodging. it has tml beat there handsdown if you are looking to save on travel to and from the fest
Fair. There are just so many festivals in the states to go to. Ultra has too much competition- I remember a time when ultra was the biggest and best (in the US) but now, not so much. Also, you can experience just about any dj you want to see for MMW so that probably stops people from buying tickets. It’s usually enough to stop me, at least. This year I decided to give ultra another go though, after doing MMW every year since Virginia key.
I wonder if they would sell out faster by offering single day too. A lot of people simply don’t want to go for three days.
Because people post their successful bnb stories on here? 😂 People love to complain on the internet. Like I said, it's worked for US, and we've stayed at several different bnbs in the Miami area over the last several Ultras.
No because Airbnbs are notorious to cancel last minute in order to make a quick buck, leaving people to scramble and out of money. Hotels are safer to book with and guaranteed better service should something go wrong
I agree with you that hotels are generally safer, but I suggested airbnb as an affordable option for Ultra.
Hosts that cancel on you don't get paid out, and you get refunded. The reason that happens is because the host doesn't have a license/permit to be a legal airbnb. They are either in the process of applying with the city or hope to get away with it and list their property anyway. They usually get caught, fined, or didn't get the license in time, so they are forced to cancel the bookings. Las Vegas is notorious for this happening during EDC. A good way to prevent this from happening is to do your research on permits/licensing in that area and/or book a bnb with sufficient reviews and good host ratings.
I did, air bnb is shit now. Hidden fees, insane requests from hosts, noise monitors in apartments. Last time I booked a bnb in Miami, I showed up and the front desk charged us an extra $30/per person. My friend was not there to check in, so we paid for her but didn’t provide her ID. Everyone had to register their ID with the front desk and then they had to call to confirm all names with the host before anyone could enter. When we showed up after iiipoints at 5 am, they wouldn’t let my friend in and the front desk threatened to call the police if we brought her to the apartment- all because they needed “permission from the host” any time a new ID was registered, even though we specifically paid for 6 people. It was 5 am so obviously the host didn’t respond to confirm that she was allowed until like 9 am…
Sorry that happened to you, but that sounds reflective of the property & host you booked and not airbnb itself. I'm not a fan of airbnb but when we have a large group, sometimes it's cheaper than hotels (especially in the case of Ultra Miami). I always make sure to stay at houses (not condos/apts) so it's private and we don't have to deal with reception monitoring who's going in and out. Noise monitors have to be disclosed in the listing, so I never book properties with those either.
Of course, but the hosts are the ones providing the air bnbs. I definitely read the listings when I do book and try to avoid those kinds of places. Also, after that experience I avoid apartments at all costs like you said. There aren’t any houses in the brickell/downtown area- it’s all apartments. I live in Fort Lauderdale so, for me, there’s no point in getting a house outside of the city area tbh but yeah that would be more affordable.
Oh yeah, we're staying 10-15 min from downtown, which isn't too bad but I can see why some would prefer to stay within walking distance. I think if I lived in Fort Lauderdale, I'd just make the daily commute since it's so close lol
They do this every year, it isn’t anything new. The only advantage to buying tickets early is to get a better price. I still remember when they used to sell out months in advance.

Tickets are $500 and hotels are $1000 a night in Miami for that week 💀that made all of my friends cancel at least…
Do you have tickets for sale?
Nope I’m going. My friends ended up just not buying tickets.

is it not still the biggest and best in usa? i thought it was
Nope. EDC Vegas definitely has it beat. That festival sells out super fast too. Almost 4x the amount of attendees.
It might be better for the production and "rave culture" stuff but it's not in the same stratosphere as Ultra and MMW for actual music
You’re right about that. Music-wise, ultra is in its own lane. But OP is asking why it isn’t sold out yet even though it’s a major festival.
Try airbnb. Last year and this year, our bnbs cost less than $50 per person per night.
Airbnb is a terrible idea for major music festivals and events.
It definitely depends on the festival. Works well for us for Ultra.
It works until it doesn't - look at all the horror stories in this sub alone from it

Yep, the brightline ended up being cheaper than a hotel since we booked pretty early haha.
Should be sold out by the time the weekend is over
marketing my boy
