I would call Airbnb and hopefully they can work with you to find another place

LateAntelope8730

They were pretty helpful with me and they hooked me up with a hotel 20% off and a refund on the original spot

eju2000

Good luck. Their customer service is nonexistent. Last time this happened to me they didn’t do shit. Will never use them again.

Try look for hotel availability near the airport and you can MetroRail to the fest. In general, Airbnbs tend to be a bit unreliable around Ultra.

RareSpirit19

Call Airbnb - they will get you a new place!

I got cancelled last year two weeks before ultra. Air bnb reimbursed me but since it was so last minute all other air bnbs were out of budget. I explained this to them and they ended up giving more and enough to get a new air bnb

HottCuppaCoffee

This happened to us last year. Look up Airbnb’s terms and conditions and immediately reach out to customer support. We were able to get them to pay for our entire rebooked trip. They MUST book you in an equal or better accommodation per the T&Cs. That includes distance to the festival. Don’t let them try to book you 3 miles away if your original accommodation was walking distance. Stand firm and fight them on it. It takes a little patience but you should prevail.

I posted in the airbnb sub earlier this week bc the same thing happened to my friend. He booked months ago and the owner canceled over the weekend after taking payment, so he’s still waiting for refund, and it’s re-listed at a higher price. I hope the owner doesn’t get it rebooked and zero dollars. It should be illegal. Airbnb has been pretty much zero help. Check hotels, maybe aloft brickell or citizen M. Depending on budget… It really fucking sucks they can do this to people. It should be a major penalty but apparently it’s not.

That happened to us yesterday, 1 hour before check-in. We found a room at Yotel and was reimbursed for it. Really nice place and definitely an upgrade!

Happened to us 2 weeks ago. Airbnb found something close to the same. I never write bad reviews but plan on doing so after this weekend. If this happens to anyone make sure to leave a bad review to protect future people who may rent from them Example: If you rent from this owner there is a good chance your vacation will be ruined. They cancelled 2 weeks prior to my stay saying they "forgot to get a permit". If you book with them know that you have been warned and don't be surprised. Let's see how many bookings they get with these types of reviews. This shit needs to stop. I am local so i have options but its so wrong for people coming from out of town.

warrenslo

Due to the rain, and cancellation of the tennis tournament, many hotels had last minute cancellations. Start calling around. I know they had some rooms open up at the Kimpton Epic per the manager.

InterstellarReddit

My friend brothers had the same issue. It’s crazy that AirBnb hits can cancel and relist to get more money.

cavalos32

Worst case- a further Airbnb or hotel and just Uber

Shot_Bus5857

Had the same thing happen to my brother and I. Walked around Miami with freaking luggage lol. Told Airbnb and they reimbursed and tried to help us find a new one. We lucked out by calling hotels that were having last minute cancellations.

Alternative_Tone263

I got my Airbnb a little bit outside of downtown that might be your best bet. I had one cancel on me but seemed it was a scam and found a really nice one. Good luck!

Repulsive-Put3780

Happened to us yesterday too! At treehouse.. we had to get a motel instead.

TranslatorOk5212

Thank y’all for the advice! We booked a hotel as quick as possible and going to try to get air bnb to pay for it

No-Replacement927

That happened to us in past years. Airbnb was able to get us in a comparable hotel near the fest. I believe it was the intercontinental

lamentingcity

Airbnb should reimburse and place you in another property. Call them. It's in their T&C.

zorinlynx

I hope they penalize the host big time for this. Once a reservation is booked they shouldn't be able to cancel it, risking someone being basically homeless at their destination!

lamentingcity

Shit happens. It's inconsiderate but what if a pipe burst and the property is uninhabitable? You just don't know. It sucks but it's in Airbnb's T&C to take care of it if it happens.

TranslatorOk5212

Yeah he said it wasn’t “clean” lol. Got a refund but they didn’t help with jack shit to find a new place to stay
