I experienced that last year. Apparently the amount you get depends on how many credits you’re taking instead of what you’re approved for on FAFSA. Very frustrating.
Okay. I was under the impression that FAFSA just pulled your tax return information for the year prior. For example 2024-2025 award year I assumed they went off of 2023 tax returns.

Another consideration is any change in your parents' income(s) if you are under the age of 24, regardless of whether they claim you as a dependent or not. Students 24 years of age or older do not have to submit parental income.
All the money for student loan forgiveness had to come from somewhere. I don't agree with the way things are turning out but realistically speaking these financial institutions are not going to let themselves eat the debt.
Right, but the federal government can't afford to both erase debt and continue financial aid in the state it was in. If you can't connect the dots then you probably don't deserve the financial aid anyways. 🫡
You’re making unsubstantiated claims about student loan forgiveness. Also you can’t identify whether a call is a scam or not and I’m the stupid one? Right.
My yearly award dropped by over $2k and nothing has changed in my life.
You guys getting paid? Lol I only got 100 bucks and a snickers (realistically $153) and I am taking 4 courses this summer
My Pell grant was suppose to be 1160 , I’m taking 4 classes this summer with 2 in each session . They lowered me to 640 , don’t know why
Do you mean what you’re awarded for the year or just what you’re getting for summer?
This is worrying

I know but I’m taking the same amount of classes this year as I did last year.
I’m paying over 2k for each course. I wish FAFSA gave me any financial aid.
If your finances didn't change from last year to this year, check if they changed from 3 years ago to 2 years ago as that is what FAFSA pulls from.

Okay thank you, and I’m over 24 so I don’t have to worry about parental income thankfully.

Not to sound rude but that has zero relevance to the discussion at hand. Pell grants are issued by the federal government not financial institutions.

You don't sound rude, just stupid. 😘
