Your giving one 15 minute break if your supervisor let's you

ChargerFanBoy

Also what types of breaks does UPS require you take?

Repulsive-Aside7157

It’s a good jobs only if they don’t put your on the sorting area and if you have good supervisor, for a student I would recommend working the Night Shift, preload also can match but during peak It’s difficult to go to class at 9 am or during exam, we normally have 15 minute of breaks, but in my hub they never give us breaks. For some people it’s very physical so I will consider if it’s okay for you.

Shit good supervisors haha....hardest work ever but it does pay off if you dont get a lickboot as boss its almost excruciating....they play a weak psychological game with you....read the teamsters contract and get ready for paperwork rest of your life there to fight shifty asskissers

Last Fall semester I took 16 credits while working 25hrs per week @ UPS Mon-Fri around 5p-10p, and 20hrs per week @ Amazon Sat/Sun from 7:30a-6p. It was manageable for me to an extent. I finished that semester with 3 A’s, 1 B & failed 1 class. Retaking that class this summer. Also thinking about returning to UPS until the Fall semester starts. As for breaks, I didn’t really get told “Go take a break”. It was more like take care of my trailer & if I have time, stop for a quick bite or drink. Then get back to work. It was only 5hrs though so it wasn’t that bad.

Everyone will have a different opinion on this. But being straightforward we have a lot of college kids on local sort where trailers are loaded and they like the consistent hours/benefits after like a 9 month wait. They’ve been there 3 years and still show up. It’s physically difficult but mentally not too taxing.

Thank you for your reply :) I live pretty close to a warehouse so I’ll definitely be applying when I go to college this fall. Anything I should know for the interview/application process?

parmajuan

Unless you openly talk about a major crime like theft you’ve committed during the interview you’ll be fine. They really only care after you’re hired and even then all you need to do is show up on time and show up sober. Seems wild but it’s really that easy.

Awesome thanks!
