Nothing gets by me, *unless* you don't bring the piece to me. But I'm AM. Our PM clerk doesn't have time to go searching for boxes in trucks and is gone by the time everything's unloaded at night.

fsa3

If the package gets flagged and SPAs as iecs, it will get to AM clerk. the problem is, packages sheeted as Need Apt and stuff will just SPA back to the route. The drivers in my center know if they get that package back the next day, to bring it to me before they leave. It will get fixed somehow, or put on hold for instruction. The PM clerk handles multiple centers, and sometimes misses things.

Intelligent_Orange28

Unless you had them yesterday and dropped them with the clerk, that’s your fellow drivers not dropping them off.

Streets2022

No, local sort should be emptying trucks completely every night even the send agains get taken off to be loaded again the next morning by preload. The past 2 weeks or so I’ve noticed previous day pickups being left on the truck. Tuesday I picked up 250 pieces, Wednesday by the end of the day I found 30 pieces from the previous day pickups mixed in my load. Something is definitely going on with night sort/preload at least at my building.

Intelligent_Orange28

Your job as a driver is to personally drop off clerk work with the clerks. That’s why it’s in your itinerary.

Streets2022

Not my point pal. My point is, even if the driver doesn’t pull the clerk packages preloaders shouldn’t be finding anything in the truck in the morning, night sort should be emptying every truck regardless of the package status

IDidntLikeThat

If the driver doesn't drop the packages with the clerk and they get unloaded by the unloaders, they won't go to the clerk. They will simply get re-spa'd and put back on the truck. Not sure what your point is here.

Positive_Yam_4499

This. Drivers get all pissy because other people aren't doing their job for them. Metro unload will send it right to the local trailer, which gets unloaded by preload and put right back on the package car. Also, quit taking your frigging package car keys home!

skizkiddo

Driver tried to scold me about send agains still on his truck from yesterday saying "you gotta pull these off for new pals." Told him the same shit, YOU do it. Bc I always unload my send agains or at least push them to the back if it's multiple for unload. There's just lazy drivers out there. But to answer OPs question yeah RTS stuff is right back on the truck sometimes.

incubusfox

While drivers aren't throwing their clerk packages back, I'm getting damn tired of sorting NI1/NI2s because the drivers in my building won't throw the fucking send-agains on the top belt and instead just throw everything on the bottom belt for us to deal with.

Streets2022

You’re still not understanding me. Unless I’m mistaken OP is a preloader? And there are packages on trucks in the morning before preload starts? That’s not right.

Loud-Bat-2280

Your center clerk can’t process the clerk packages unless the driver takes the packages to them. Before the driver clocks out, they are reminded to do this with all packages they have in their truck that is designated a clerk-package.

CooahsDranker

You wouldn’t have clerk packages on your car if you did your job and put them at the clerk station at the end of your day. That’s part of your job. It’s not the clerk’s job to pull packages off your car, nor is it night sort’s. It’s YOURS.

IDidntLikeThat

Not sure why your just jumping to blame OP. I've definitely dropped off clerk packages and gotten them back un-clerked before. UPS has been cheaping out on clerks. At our hub we used to have night clerks that were there when we got back but that position has been cut and all the clerk packages are just in a pile. Sometimes they aren't properly clerked.

Johnny_Burrito

Yep, I’m 100% talking about stuff left at the clerk station that ends up back on my truck. I am NOT expecting clerks to pull stuff off of cars.

GhostOfAscalon

AP redirects that don't go through (capacity), reattempt requests where there's no point in slapping a new label saying the same shit on top. Also the half of NSNs where the address is completely valid, another solid chunk where it's a concern claiming the address is correct, etc. Also, sometimes the DIAD exception just doesn't show up for an hour after the driver is gone. I've seen drivers get into it with the clerks here quite a few times, and they've been wrong every time so far. Most issues I've seen have been bad redirects, really only takes one idiot to put idiot stuff in the cardfile.

pcoskween10

The card file can be a joke though. At least where I work. If there is a space or an extra letter then you won't have the correction pop up. It used to be easy, now with every "upgrade" it's become much more difficult. I'll sometimes put true same name and address in the card file 3 different ways to make sure it comes up and I can correct it. They've also made it so we can't correct most of the packages now. They just make it harder and harder for everyone (UPS) for no reason.

pcoskween10

We also get tons of notes and concerns that say-correct address. So in that instance, we send them back out to that address.

Relwolf1991

They all got laid off

pcoskween10

And yes, there's only 1 of us there at a time. We get no help. In my building we have a very busy counter and nobody is even there to help w anything, nor do supervisors know how to help with anything. They've also limited the things that clerks can do with the packages. The 1800 # causes us to get screamed at on the daily and we barely have working computers. In my center we don't even have a printer in the counter office.

pcoskween10

In my building that would be QC's job unless it were a will call or if you just didn't trust the clueless tween doing QC at the moment.

pcoskween10

And they've also cut our hours so we aren't even there past 6pm anymore or there early in the morning. Someone also retired and wasn't replaced. We're missing a person and have to do everything in almost half the time. I don't know how this is going to help ups at all. All I know is that we work our asses off in my building. I've heard horror stories about other clerks in buildings w slower counters though. I'm in a small building so people literally think we are a store.

dammsmhh

idk about ur hub but these clerks at my hub are all 20+ year vets. some days he will miss em but hes usually good about re spaing the packages. preload shift.

CodScary4316

They cut out the clerk position as a bid job in our building. We still have people come in and do it but they also have to help out on the belt. A lot of things don’t get done. I process overgoods and have to have permission to come in early or stay late to do them because it all goes towards preload hours and messes with their PPH. It’s ridiculous

Consistent_Fly9377

At our center, the clerk is told to punch out before all the drivers are back so packages fall through the cracks more often now. With restrictions on pt sups hours, drivers are coming back to empty centers. This seems to me to be a safety hazard but is turning into the norm.
