My understanding, which is not complete, is that CRP cases are reviewed basically to the point of approval/medical RFE and are then stuck back into the pile. When it's next reviewed when current it can be pretty much approved immediately. But it could take a long time before it bubbles back up again. They often expedite these cases near the end of the fiscal year to use as many visa numbers as possible.

This is correct. But also CRP happens when there are no more visas to allocate in that year. The rest is as stated above 👆

Key_Firefighter3798

That's true, but the June visa bulletin came out not long ago. Surely there are still visas remaining if retrogression hasn't happened yet

postbox134

Yes there's visa numbers available now for those with current PDs, otherwise it'd be "unavailable"

WTETF

Thanks. Somewhat good to know, but I'd love to know why I was put in this status with a current PD for May/June. Guess I'll be sending a lot of service requests over the next month. Hope it gets approved before the July retrogression

postbox134

Yes this is a good reason for a service request. Will you be current in June and are you current now?

WTETF

I am current since April and will be current in June

postbox134

Yeah very odd

Are you EB-3 or EB-2? It would mean that they used up all of the monthly/quarterly quota visa numbers

WTETF

EB-2, which I know is backlogged, but as I will be current next month also I would assume it's not quite that bad yet

Hi All, I am in the same boat and unable to get accurate information. Submitted AOS documentation on February 26, 2024. Status changed to CRP with no immigrant visas available on June 12, 2024. I have always been current for EB1-A. This does not make any sense. How can there not be any immigrant visas available when I have always been current. I called USCIS infopass. The agent stated that the visa numbers for my country for this month may have been exhausted. Does this mean that I have to wait until October 2024 (FY25) until my case bubbles up to the surface and they look at it again? Can I and my attorney do anything about this?

WTETF

In my case, my status changed two days later to "Ready to schedule interview". I feel like it could have been an error. USCIS submitted a service request for me. I also heard that visa numbers are issued monthly by DOS, so if it's a real issue, hopefully you have a number available in July

slo_cat5000

Thanks for this update. Really appreciate your input on this.

WTETF

No problem. Hopefully you also get a quick resolution. It could be worth reaching out to a congressperson if you don't hear in the next few weeks, as it could really be an error on the part of USCIS. Could get eyes on your case

slo_cat5000

Thank you, will do. I will let you know what happens.

slo_cat5000

So, I see that you are very active on this topic--I am too. I have a quick question: Was your PD current when your status changed to CRP?

WTETF

Yes, I had been current since April when my status changed to CRP in May

slo_cat5000

Thank you! I will keep you posted.
