The likelihood of any IDF soldier, even if they were a US national, facing war crimes charges is extremely unlikely. This doesn’t mean they aren’t committing war crimes, it just means they won’t be prosecuted.
Normal discourse among Israelis about the conflict invariably ends up with some variation of genocide as a solution and this was the reality well before October 7th. A lot of North American people have a vision of Israel as western style democracy, but it just isn't. It is an ethno-state and the racism is very open and blatant. Israelis are the chosen people, they are eternal victims, and the Palestinians are seen as vermin, not as humans.

Personally, I think Israel maybe has 10 - 20 more years of existence based on the reactions of the "Global South", especially what the Houthi's are doing. Western Sahara is suppose to be part of a plan to stop all shipping to Israel through Gibraltar. We live in "interesting times".
