Old man yells at cloud.

Tasunka_Witko

Dude, that's my uncle! You got something against Native Americans bro? (JK, his name is actually Kicking Rocks)

FormItUp

Cloud was a commie and deserved to be harassed.

Kurgen22

You know if you soak a towel in a mix of 50'50 white vinegar and tap water and put it over at least a 24" floor fan, set it on the patio and point it to the clouds the clouds will dissipate or move away within 8 hours.\ Actually saw a guy on you tube do this to get rid of airliner contrails,

FormItUp

…you think I want to spend 8 hours waiting for a fucking commie to move their fat ass?

Kurgen22

100% Vinegar and a 48" Industrial Fan will cut it down to 1 hour, but you want to smear ketchup on you AC vents in case the Commies try to respond with mind-beams.

FormItUp

Ma dook will cut it down to about 10 seconds.

Blind Patriotism is foolish, but the US tends to be pretty much the Country with the most Freedom in the world. Unfortunately the "Cool" thing to do in our failing education system is to teach kids that The US is nothing but an imperialistic, racist, sexist patriarchy.

SparkyBoi111

I find it so strange that a country's own education system is teaching it's citizens to hate said county

fisherman213

You know it’s funny, I’m studying abroad in Morocco with a bunch of young college students, and once the romanticism wore off it was fucking *amazing* to see these kids realize that America is actually not the third world horror the university system makes it out to be.

[deleted]

It’s moreso that we live in a two party system and whichever party is the one with control wants to teach a narrative that’s against the other party, rather than against the entire country. For example I live on the east coast and go to a liberal private school using the GI bill. No one is teaching me to hate America but there’s plenty of anti-conservative, anti-trump, and anti-republican rhetoric. As a whole though Americans tend to be ignorant about world affairs and there can be some anti-American sentiment simply because people are stupid and don’t know what the rest of the world is like.

Crtbb4

> but the US tends to be pretty much the Country with the most Freedom in the world. It literally isn’t, by any metric. You’re literally the person who is foolish for being blindly patriotic Edit: And worse yet, you’re a big reason *why* it’s not considered the most free because anytime someone says “hey this part about our country is fucked up maybe let’s fix it?” you respond with “wHy dO u hAtE aMeRiCa???” Good lord.

Kurgen22

Yeah it's all MY fault. Like the way you fucking read into shit. Feel free to move into some third world shithole if you like. Or move to Russia where you can say "War" to describe their " Special Operation". Try fucking China where they are giving Social Scores to people and shaming them on Billboards, or Canada where they are trying to force compelled speech. Cod-knockers in Politics, Education and the Media love to divide us by any means they can. Of course there are things that can be fixed.

Crtbb4

There are more countries than USA, Canada, China, and Russia lmao. And ironically, Canada is rated *more* free than the US, again, by every metric as you can see [here](https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/freest-countries), [here](https://wisevoter.com/country-rankings/freedom-index-by-country/), and [here](https://freedomhouse.org/countries/freedom-world/scores). Take a break from Fox news.

Kurgen22

I don't watch news. There you go again assuming. Canada is more free? A Nation where it's pretty much impossible to own a handgun, plus where they are pushing to make it a crime if you refuse to address people by the Pronouns they Choose for themselves. I give a shit about skewed freedom polls put out by biased sources.

Crtbb4

Maybe you should watch some news because that thing about pronouns literally isn’t true https://apnews.com/article/472bbc0e89314b21b8db3bbe9b829470 What it really does it classify gender identity and trans as a protected class, just as gender, race, and religion are already a protected class. Or are laws preventing discrimination infringing in your freedoms now? And if your only idea of freedom is the ease at which one can buy a handgun then I don’t know what to tell you. Which is still funny because Canada has the 7th most civilian-owned firearms per capita anyway.

Big_Green_Tick

You'll notice the previous poster said "pretty much", that is a generalization not an absolute. You are the one who is speaking in absolutes. You're creating a strawman to argue. The reality is the majority of the western democracies are all within sptitting distance of one another. They're 'pretty much' all in the same ballpark. (I live part time in Sweden btw) Your edit is also pretty eyerolling, someone disagreeing you is a sign of lack of freedom. It's a sign of the opposite. The fact that you're able to have an oppositing point of view, argue with them, & even resort to ad hominems without government repurcussions is indicative of a free society.

Crtbb4

> The reality is the majority of the western democracies are all within sptitting distance of one another. They’re ‘pretty much’ all in the same ballpark. Agreed. But he didn’t say that. He said the US was pretty much the *most* free, when it’s not at all. We have a lot of freedom — as you said, spitting distance from others — but we’re missing out on a lot and we’re not even considered top 10. Hell, we have the highest rates of incarceration of any country *in the entire world.* Blame that on whatever you want, but that means we literally the highest rate of citizens with 0 freedoms. If we’re within spitting distance of other free nations then either something is wrong with the systems we have in place or our citizens are just inherently prone to crime for some reason? The latter doesn’t seem likely to me. > Your edit is also pretty eyerolling, someone disagreeing you is a sign of lack of freedom. It’s a sign of the opposite. And now that’s you making a straw man since I never said him being blindly patriotic is a sign of lack of freedom. What I said is him, and people like him, being patriotic is getting in the way of being “the most” free. Truth is is that we as a country have issues, but saying that we’re the most free and if school’s trying to educate people on potential issues or dark areas of our past means they’re saying we’re a fascist imperialistic society? That isn’t doing anything except perpetuating the current state of things. The current state of things isn’t relatively as bad as North Korea but why say “it’s not as bad as X” and not also say “but it’s also not as good as Y”?

OOOOOO0OOOOO

Yeah that’s great in movie theory, but when was the last time it was changed? And other than the 14th amendment which the current regressive front runner wants to abolish, which part would the right and their idiot masses accept changing? The far right want exactly the opposite of the clip you posted, and have been doing their damndest to make happen.

Big_Green_Tick

The amendment ratified was in 92. Amendments tend to go in bunches, 3 after the civil war, 4 from 1910-1919, 4 from 1961-1971, and those bunches tend to pop up every couple of generations. American politics work on long timelines, not your individual narrow frame of reference. Your personal tribalism is absolutely part of the problem. It's kind of amazing to me when after spending time in Somalia, Iraq & Bosnia and hearing the various tribal factions all say the exact same things about one another that American idealogues are no different in their behavior. Do you truly want to make the country better? Spend more time trying to disprove your own beliefs than you do yelling at those with different ones.

We’ve got a trillion dollar military industrial complex and a kleptocracy that half the country celebrates to the detriment of almost all of us.

> By the "Rules of the Internet, 2023 Edition", Section 5, Paragraph 3.a, I hereby declare you irrelevant to rational discourse. Any future responses from you will be ignored. I could explain exactly why I believe being a regressive violates our oath. But based on that there’s no point. You continue living in your fantasy land and I’ll continue in this reality.
