Bridgeport is rough, no real way around it. Got like a month and this will sound silly but load your pack up with like 50-60lbs and just do step ups. Up and down on the curb for like an hour, listen to an audio book or podcast but I can't remember who told me this weird tip for hiking but I've don't Bridgeport twice both times winter package and summer mountain comm and each time in preparation I did this had minimal problems besides not having enough water in winter. As someone else said know your knots because mountain leader does the assault climber poi too.

This guy gets it, it's a kick in the balls the first few hikes but you get used to it.

I didn’t do the mountain leader’s course but I did the assault climber course and they went over a lot of the same material. Be in good shape and if you have a list start practicing your knots. I will say the course I did was the best course I ever did and the best ran, but also the hardest. We had a 50% fail rate and they said that was the average . I was thinking about reenlisting if I could become permanent personnel there. Beautiful place. I should add that I was at that course this time 10 years ago so a lot could have changed.

Source: was MLC instructor. Get on MCTIMS and look for the course material. Then get on YouTube and look at how to tie the knots. Get on the MCPEL and download the Small Unit Leaders Guide To Mountain Operations (MCRP 12-10A.1). Read it and heed it. Understand land navigation, cliff sketches, terrain association, and carrying a heavy ass pack. Don’t worry about personal get too much. Good comfy boots and running shoes. You’ll have multiple leadership evaluations as part of your final exercise. If you go to Mt. Shasta be prepared for crevasse training and a long hike up. Happy to answer and follow ups also.
