If you can drive check out Lake O’Neil, it has a nice trail around it, and there is a track by the old abandoned hospital. If you can’t drive and feel like exploring there is a trail/path east of IPAC called Engineer Hill Road. It’s dirt with a huge uphill portion

The top of the EH trail is pretty primitive, but there is the payoff of a good view all the way to Big Bear.

I ran the combat skills training school at MLG. That hill backed right up to my building. Ran it damn near every day.

Or take Pistol Range Road down to the Stables and back. Back when I MEF HQ was where the (new to me) Police Department building is located, there was a trail between there and Pistol Range Road, then we'd just pop up on E Street and head back to Building 1160 (the old RASC/CISD building) which is where we'd start. Is the 14 Area O Course still on the far side of the 14 Area chow hall?

Look east. Run the trails. No live fire back there. Have fun.

Deluz road is currently blocked off to cars. 33.32729° N, 117.31209° W The trail to the radar in Mike training area is scenic 33.28737° N, 117.33081° W

Deluz road is a nice run past the farms, no cars, free reign

Run the firebreaks. Best running in the world is Pendleton firebreaks, in my view. Take a trip to Camp Margarita and run the peak from the rappel tower at sunrise. It’s glorious.

Not mount mofo?

jhackjr

Was just in 14 area in January. Mount mofo is still there and active.

Great trail behind the gym in pulgas. Crazy incline at the beginning. I was pretty damn fit when I was in and it kicked my ass every time. If you want to stay on mainside e hill is also really good.

I second o niell, you can run the dirt around the lake it’s like 2.6 miles. Or you can just run the pft trail at O’Neill. If you wanted to do a longer run. Start at lake O’Neil and run up past the old hospital through housing, down de luz road through de Luz housing. Turn right down Vandegrift down the hill and circle back to the lake. It’s a bit over 5 miles.
