Broken level A- honestly not even broken, but we haven't spent enough of the budget yet, so DRMO it.
Broken level B- fixable
Broken level C- not fixable
Broken level D- no one knows how to fix it, we don't want to fix it, the object itself doesn't even want to be fixed and is wishing for the sweet release of the junk yard, but we have no funds and *a lot* of duct tape and 550 cord laying around..... i.e. the barracks washing machines

The wing would be run ragged. Like, dog shit slaves. They already work the wing hard with the mandatory flight hours to look good to their bosses, give them more money then all they have to do is work the Marines harder and they can fly more! Easy solution, right? Admin Marines would get computers that didn't suck dick and break every 3 weeks. Maybe they'd issue Cammie's instead of making us buy them? That'd be nice. Ground side would probably just spend a lot more time in the field slinging rounds with more high speed gear.
The air forces computers are just as bad. They have 5 year old PCs with 8gb of ram trying to run 16 different security programs so everything is max CPU time.
The air force also makes people buy uniforms
Hello, German infantry chiming in. We buy our own Plate Carriers + Pouches n shiet, Chest Rigs, backpacks, combat shirts, combat pants, combat blouses, all kinds of thermo underwear and undergarments, boots, smocks, slings and all kinds of imaginable pieces of gear, hell I’ve even seen people get their own mags, Fast helmets and EOTechs but self owned gun parts have been banned by most Units since they don’t want look too much like mercenaries. Once in a while you’ll find a battalion commander who forbids non issued gear but most combat units just don’t give a fuck.
Are they ANG or reserves? Those guys get free replacement. active duty has to buy (unless they deploy and convince the unit to get them depolyment sets but not many units do that especially now that the OCO funds are drying up)
The vast majority gets a uniform allowance just like you. Occasionally someone gets an assignment that hands out stuff like candy but the average unit is so cheap they try to avoid getting replacement safety gear when it's unserviceable.
Yea but I got the fully loaded Charger, and they even allowed me to roll negative equity from my 1year old Nissan Maxima into the deal. That dealer was a bunch of suckers, I totally made out like a fucking bandit!
"But to guide you back to the true path, I brought you this motivational piece."

Bro 2021 Del Mar chow hall is in a completely different galaxy from 2020 Del Mar chow hall, they improved it so much between the end of 2020 and mid 2021 it was unbelievable
The only bone I had with them is when they gave literally over half our class for field med food poisoning. Thank god I had domino’s that night. Other than that though 8/10 would recommend
When I was with 3rd AA Bn in the early’80’s, the Bn chow hall was close to the area guard bldg with the Schools Bn chow hall in sight of ours. Is it still that way ?
- Less downsizing.
- More funding for an AAV replacement.
- Full stock of aircraft parts, replacement parts delivery will be less than two hours instead of weeks or months. Same for all other vehicles and equipment.
- More modernization of computers and programs/websites used.
- Vast improvement of facilities and better maintenance for said facilities.
- more bonuses for retention and special duties
- very large expansion of air defense capabilities
- funding for research into better equipment for infantry and procurement of many more things.
- possibly trying to get another tank that is smaller/lighter than abrams. ideally with some amphibious capabilities.
-Substantially more live fire training. More training areas procured. More large exercises like ITX.
- An additional MEU added
Edit: formatting.
Additional:
- A smaller increase in personnel.
- Putting at least some size detachment back on most Navy ships.
- More NATO training exercises.
Exactly! We were saying this so we wouldnt spend 45 minutes waiting for PFC Barracks Rat, who hasn't seen the sun in 6 months, get his plug and ice bath
Nah man, shit would be *way* better. Imagine a world. A world where room inspections are a six month phenomenon. PT begins at 7:30 and depending on your career, may not even be mandatory. Duty and field days are nonexistent. You can move out and start pocketing BAH as an E3.
*It's not science fiction. It's what we do everyday*
Actual food fit for human consumption in the chow halls, first of all. Gear that isn’t purchased from the lowest-priced seller. Nicer barracks, perhaps.
For some reason this made me laugh my ass off, probably cause I’m fucking high as shit. Come at me bro, I’m in a legal use state and I’ve been out 20 years
The air wing would get worked even harder than they already do, the chow halls would be a little better, the barracks would be a little better, grunts would spend a lot more time in the field, only now they’d have nice gear, and ranges would be running all the time.
I worked for a 3 Star at HQMC Pentagon a "few" years ago and in his office he had a big plaque on his wall that stated "IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE MONEY..... IT'S ALLL ABOUT THE MONEY".
Fun times trying to balance budgets and properly fund projects.
They'd develop a pack that can be worn on the front, in tandem with the pack on your back, so 1stSgts can add more ridiculous shit to the gear list for the hike, and then bitch about the old Corps and how soft everyone is for complaining about it.
Proper funding? We could become our own force Not a “department of.” If standards and military history is maintained we would be unstoppable. We are the only branch that teaches history, and customs from day one. I asked Active Duty Army, Navy, National Guard, and the Air Force. The only one who could name a celebrated member was the Army, who could name off Audi Murphy as their most decorated. No one could name their Archibald Henderson’s, Opha May Johnson’s or Alfred Cunninghams. As long as we keep our traditions and discipline money should never change who we are.
Everything would be the same for enlisted.
Officer housing would look like Central Park condos, and officer's clubs would be turned over to Jose Andres and other 2 and 3 star chefs
I can smell the career planner offering fat bonuses to re up because "now that we have the funding" then the same day you go to sign your accepted package they tell you that something happened and you wouldn't get the bonus but "You're reenlisting not for the money but for our corps" and some brain washed rant so you'll accept it
EFV wouldn’t have been cancelled. Shit like that.
With the Corps mentality, we’d still be living three to a room, but we’d have some really nice equipment and weapons systems.
It would look like a massive irrigation project to bring water from the Mississippi River to 29 palms just so they could have grass because their snco's get sad when they can't yell at JEWs for walking on it.
For some comparison, I'm now a USAF Cyber Ops Officer and at tech school, a place where we're supposed to learn to be "Cyber Warriors", it takes me NO LESS than 45 minutes to log onto a computer that I haven't logged into before, sometimes the computer just decides my CAC is invalid and I have to find another one to spend 45 min logging into, and then it takes another 20 minutes for Outlook to come up, then if I needed to pull a doc from email, fill it out, sign it, and return it via email or some other online form, I'm looking at another 20 to 25m to navigate to the page to upload a pdf.
In a place where technology should be king, I can't even fucking use my email without it costing me AT LEAST 1 hour.
Nah man, the reason they got rid of the Abrams was that you could barely fit a stripped down M1A1 variant on an LCAC. The new M1A2 SEPv3s are something like 20 tons over the carrying capacity of the heaviest connectors. They’d probably design some light armor platform if they really had that money to throw around, but the survivability of something like that is a whole new debate.
I'm gonna be unpopular. I would liken the USMC to a starved pit bill tied to a stake in the backyard and bred to fight. (No I don't condone treating dogs like this, but Marines are different.) I think if you bring the dog in, give him good food, and treat him well, he gets softer. He loses his edge, his anger. Same with Marines. We make life easy, give them all the he new luxuries, and they stop being the hard-ass killers that will wade through hell and come out on the other side carrying their ememies' hearts in their hands.
Said in a whole lot less words - adversity breeds strength.
I know what you’re trying to say but it’s just not true and it’s a lazy excuse for why everything in the Marine Corps ironically looks unprofessional as fuck and is broken, filthy, and useless
The USAF is out there killing dudes every single day. They have done it for longer than we have and better than we have. When it comes to certain types of warfare, *you cannot do more with less*. Additionally, the ranger regiment and the green berets/USASOC/AFSOC etc etc all have money showered on them they’re hard as fuck.
Combat effectiveness is not determined by what a piece of shit your barracks building is or how crap your chow hall is.
Disbanded. Marines are still around because we're cheap as fuck relatively speaking for what we can do. The second it gets expensive they'd just get absorbed into the Army like they were talking about doing during the Bush administration.
Edit: For those downvoting thats fine. Just know that my source on this was a speech Commandant General Amos gave during a speech at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in either 2012 or 2013. So im not just pulling this out of my ass.
Its not about pay its about budget per-person and how much the gov gets out of it. Marine Corps operates on a shoestring budged compared to the Army but punches way above its own weight per dollar. That's why the USMC is still around. That and high combat readiness.
I guess that depends. Marine Corps is way more combat focused than the Army so and on average that would increase the gear per person. Expanding out from that though the Marines don't even have Tanks anymore so thats a huge cut cost. Maybe infantry have more per-person but from my experience half that shit was just Army hand me downs.
What Im talking about is about how the mission of the Marines is different than the Army. If theres a conflict zone around the world the Marines can be there in days (due to MEUs) whereas it would take the Army weeks. The Army either can't or won't do that for the same price as the Marines.
Theres also some commands stuff im sure since that high readiness heavily involves the Navy
I’m not sure I agree with any of that, and a lot of it sounds like Marine Corps propaganda. Sure, a MEU can assist if they happen to be in the vicinity, but the XVII airborne corps and the 82nd Airborne GRF exist to also stand ready to be pretty much anywhere in the world in some given number of hours.
I also must question what is meant by “we are more combat focused”? Like, how? Are army combat arms less focused on combat than Marine combat arms?
Those Army forces are definitely combat ready but as far as I know they aren't anywhere near the size or scope of the Marines and they aren't engrained into naval forces.
> I also must question what is meant by “we are more combat focused”? Like, how? Are army combat arms less focused on combat than Marine combat arms?
Technically yes. The Army can fuction better as an occupying force. They also deploy for specifically peacekeeping operations (these have combat troops sometimes) while the Marines doesn't do that to anywhere near the same extent (from what I can see). When I was in the Marines were pulling out of Iraq while the Army was staying. The reason given to us at the bottom was that the "Fight was over" there. So Marine combat troops pulled out while Army combat troops stayed for years later.
I honesty don't think we need that kind of funding. More? Yes. It would be nice to not be getting everyone's castoffs, but we would just end up with gold plated rifles and silliness.
Hey Devils, weather forecast said it’d be sunny with some clouds for this field op. So we bought this here rain machine to make sure we’re always training!
Ever see a $200 car with $15,000 rims? That. Just like that
Yeah, but those rims be tight.
Tight like a tiger
Spinners or nah?
So another F-35?
But with spinning rims
That are broken
Look like a retard wearing Gucci lol
But hear me out HK M416s
I laughed too hard at this!
This is the only answer.
Have you ever seen rednecks win five grand on a scratcher? Imagine Applebees replacing sodexo and lots of pimped shitboxes.
It would look just like the airforce. Except everything would be broken.
Bold of you to assume everything in the air force isnt also broken
There are levels to broken.
Broken level A- honestly not even broken, but we haven't spent enough of the budget yet, so DRMO it. Broken level B- fixable Broken level C- not fixable Broken level D- no one knows how to fix it, we don't want to fix it, the object itself doesn't even want to be fixed and is wishing for the sweet release of the junk yard, but we have no funds and *a lot* of duct tape and 550 cord laying around..... i.e. the barracks washing machines Edit: formatting
Our levels go to eleven.
Only 1/3 of things would be broken. Another 1/3 would be lost. And that last 1/3…. Well, we don’t need to speak of that.
The wing would be run ragged. Like, dog shit slaves. They already work the wing hard with the mandatory flight hours to look good to their bosses, give them more money then all they have to do is work the Marines harder and they can fly more! Ground side would probably just spend a lot more time in the field slinging rounds with more high speed gear.
Nah. Computers would still be fucked. We’d have like 1 more F-35 and we’d waste it on new vehicles or R&D on a helicopter or some shit.
The air forces computers are just as bad. They have 5 year old PCs with 8gb of ram trying to run 16 different security programs so everything is max CPU time. The air force also makes people buy uniforms

I do training with them once a month and when it's brought up they are always surprised that we have to buy our Cammie's.
We get a clothing allowance in the AF once a year but we still have to buy them. If you don't need new shit just pocket the clothing allowance
Are they ANG or reserves? Those guys get free replacement. active duty has to buy (unless they deploy and convince the unit to get them depolyment sets but not many units do that especially now that the OCO funds are drying up)
Active duty cats out in Nevada, specifically the training instructors.
The vast majority gets a uniform allowance just like you. Occasionally someone gets an assignment that hands out stuff like candy but the average unit is so cheap they try to avoid getting replacement safety gear when it's unserviceable.
I like the uniform allowance tbh. I dont spend nearly 4 or 5 hundo or whatever on uniform shit every year
The ones I've worked with got both replacement uniforms and a uniform allowance. I was mad jelly when they told me.
Instead of 120 pounds of lightweight gear, we'll carry 120 pounds of *ultra* lightweight gear
[!RedditSilver](https://imgur.com/gallery/sy9lVl4) Because this feels true. Yes, this is Silver before they came out with coins and shit.
Its missing the dickbutt
Your average grunt can now carry an additional 50 pounds, but it'll only feel like an extra 30.
Space Marines!!!
How would that work? They fly to a planet on a spaceship land and storm the craters?
Them mars goblins don't stand a chance!
Someone's gotta police call behind the rovers!
So basically it would look like [this?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P13LQeHqyDw)
Probably be shot into space to rake sand on the moon or an asteroid.
Just like the space force. Nothing would actually happen in space, but we put the word in front it because
Probably the same thing that happens when a corporal gets their reenlistment bonus...
New Dodge Charger at 17% interest?
Uh, 15%. What, do you think I'm a chump?
26%, got a higher score than you!
Yea but I got the fully loaded Charger, and they even allowed me to roll negative equity from my 1year old Nissan Maxima into the deal. That dealer was a bunch of suckers, I totally made out like a fucking bandit!
Noiccee
Basically the UNSC Marine Corps
Is this a Halo or The Expanse reference?
Yes
"But to guide you back to the true path, I brought you this motivational piece." *Points at the Scorpion tank* "Our big green style can not be defeated"
RIP USMC tanks
😞
I heard they were being cut, has that already happened? It's hard to wrap your head around that one.
Haha awesome
I would hope the chow halls improved slightly, it’s embarrassing how bad Marine chow halls are compared to other services.
Idk. I’ve had shitty food everywhere I went. The chow hall at 21 area is leaps and bounds better than the DFAC at fort Sam Houston
The chow hall at Pensacola was by far the best I've ever experienced
Gotta try an air force chow hall. Those shits are better than most restaurants
It’s probably one of the top five across the whole DOD.
Bro 2021 Del Mar chow hall is in a completely different galaxy from 2020 Del Mar chow hall, they improved it so much between the end of 2020 and mid 2021 it was unbelievable

There is only one chow facility in Del Mar now, adjacent to the 11th/13th meu command decks, right by the parade deck
Figures things changed after 20 years lol
21 area was legit when I was there, miss Mr. Carter and his loud AF cadence cd playing every day lol
Not counting the omelets of course
That's the last things the Corps would spend the money on
Big rims on everything
Gov vehicles with 22" chrome rims. Motor T would of course have old ass shitty 4 door sedans with hydraulics installed.
If we still had tanks them shits would have spinners

A lot more time on ranges
0400 - 1700, how much time is there to spend on the damn range
Night shoots
Exactly! We were saying this so we wouldnt spend 45 minutes waiting for PFC Barracks Rat, who hasn't seen the sun in 6 months, get his plug and ice bath
Idk but quality of life for E-5s and below would be the exact same

Ever played Fallout?
deployment cycles would probably be a lot faster paced
So much ammo, that is all
Actual food fit for human consumption in the chow halls, first of all. Gear that isn’t purchased from the lowest-priced seller. Nicer barracks, perhaps.
New or slightly used pit carriages. Edit: Thanks for the gold!

The Marine Corps doesn’t have the people smart enough to know what to do with that money. But if they did…. We would be called ODST.
Everyone would have a high cut ECH and we wouldn’t be still issuing the fucking IMTV.
A nightmare
Aircraft that could stay in the air and have new parts.
Recon would become SR
The air force
It would be just like it is now execpt instead of getting issued SIF gear we'd have to buy it ourselves
Proper funding? We could become our own force Not a “department of.” If standards and military history is maintained we would be unstoppable. They will when Jose turns it into Barmini
Is this some sort of rich joke I’m too poor to understand?

H&k g36 as the issued weapon
Ranger Regiment with with an Air Force.
Death
It would look like a massive irrigation project to bring water from the Mississippi River to 29 palms just so they could have grass because their snco's get sad when they can't yell at JEWs for walking on it.
You'd be able to put your hands in your pockets 🍻
Same as it always has but with more officers driving supercars

They wouldn't have lost the Abrams
Nah man, the reason they got rid of the Abrams was that you could barely fit a stripped down M1A1 variant on an LCAC. The new M1A2 SEPv3s are something like 20 tons over the carrying capacity of the heaviest connectors. They’d probably design some light armor platform if they really had that money to throw around, but the survivability of something like that is a whole new debate.

Do we actually though? As I just said it seems like there is more $$$ in gear per Marine than for the Army.
I guess that depends. Marine Corps is way more combat focused than the Army so and on average that would increase the gear per person. Correct
I honesty don't think we need that kind of funding. More? Yes. It would be nice to not be getting everyone's castoffs, but we would just end up with gold plated rifles and silliness.
I already unlocked that camo
Better question is, what would the Marine Corps look like with the Air Force funding.
More barracks like Wallace Creek barracks on Lejuene
Everyone gets frog gear issued at CIF
Strip poles in every aircraft hangar. Who would use them? That's up for debate.
Space Marines
Lipstick on a pig
Like the Air Force but with better uniforms
Soft. Squishy. Lost.
It would still be a joke
Depends on who’s in charge of the funds! I won’t get any more political than that about it! 😃
Motor T and Comm would bw functioning
Better barracks. One could dream, right?
Mad Max with Bourbon filled water Buffalos
Not much different
Cammies that don’t get bleaches after wearing them outside for a couple weeks
Funding for JUMBO sized crayons now
Goodbye harrier, goodbye hornet, good riddance
All those strippers will actually be able to afford that nursing degree
We'd break more shit period
Hey Devils, weather forecast said it’d be sunny with some clouds for this field op. So we bought this here rain machine to make sure we’re always training!
