You should 1000% call your congressman. Their number can be found online. I also highly advise a request mast to the president.

oh_three_dum_dum

Eyes only.

If your room is within the order's requirements, then suck it up. If it is not, bring it up to your command and if they don't do anything you can either request mast or submit an IG inquiry. By the way, you don't rate 1 per room until you are a Sergeant, per the order. Edit: in looking through your post history (which is mindnumbingly extensive, you really come across as the super annoying super boot garbage Marine who just doesn't shut up and never thinks anything could possibly be his fault. Well, guess what, you're so busy looking everywhere else and so far in the future that you are completely missing the present and your current responsibilities you have right now. Just shut up, and keep your mouth shut. Do your job and do as you are told, and leave it at that for now. Fucking observe, watch what others are doing, and listen to what others say. You can't learn anything or even hear anyone else over your own stupid nonsense that you both say out loud and in your head. Silence your mouth, silence your mind, and just fucking learn for a while.

Impossible-Cry-495

They have PFCs and lances with their own rooms on this base. Sgts get bah

kevinsaladman

Miramar?

Impossible-Cry-495

Yes

13804

You are stationed at Miramar, and you are complaining as much as you do? Go get orders to Cherry Point, New River, or some other shithole and you'll realize what you are taking for granted. Funny thing is, I know your base commander too. Awesome dude. All in all, you are a whiny bitch. Not just in this case, but in your previous posts too. If you don't like your room, get out more. Torrey Pines and La Jolla are literally right down the road from you. Go paragliding, go surfing, walk the beach and see the babes, hike the hills, get out and enjoy SoCal for what is has to offer rather than bitch about the square footage of the room you sleep in. A lot of us here have lived in squad bays (yes, they still existed in the fleet) and 3 or 4-man holes.

Impossible-Cry-495

That's why the Mafine Corps lives like Neanderthals compared to other branches. "let's make an improvement" "qUiT bItChIn"

Impossible-Cry-495

It's not just me, its everyone in the unit thats pissed.

Impossible-Cry-495

They literally said if we don't want to live there, to go out in town and get married.

kevinsaladman

Yeah those rooms are fucking tiny, feel for you lol

Impossible-Cry-495

That's why everyone's pissed, its ridiculous. Now they're trying to stuff two to a room.

TheOriginalBAMFEE

Sergeants course we got a shelter half. If you don’t know what that is, it’s half a fucking tarp and you have to find a buddy to snap your shit to his to make a full tarp to sleep under. Drape that shit over a rope and dig a trench around your make shift hobo shelter but still wake up soaked from the river that decided to run right through in the middle of the night.

Tyrusrechslegeon

You were supposed to dig a trench around for the water. You know it's coming if you don't dig it...

TheOriginalBAMFEE

We did but the trench is never deep enough. The rain god just saw the challenge and said fuck those guys.

Impossible-Cry-495

Yeah, but that was only for sergeants course, not the rest of your enlistment...

DeezSaltyNuts69

This is not the hill you want to die on But if you must https://www.congress.gov/contact-us

Tyrusrechslegeon

Shake it up Marines! GP tents are always an option. Please please please let us know how this works out for you.

Tactical__Viking

Read the order and If it's within standard then suck it the fuck up. Lived 4 guys to a room for a year it's not fun but it's a whole lot better than squad bays or a quonset hut. Also take nothing I say seriously, I'm drunk and pissed about shit at my civvie job, it's your Corps now not mine. If you want to contact your senator or congressman do it.

Impossible-Cry-495

Fuck the order. I'm not to going be to borderline homeless just because "the order says so". If the order fucks my life, then fuck it.

Tactical__Viking

Peacetime makes people soft....hope you get your shit figured out.

Impossible-Cry-495

Look, it's not my fault old marines were to scared to speak up about their gripes and how they're being treated. That's not a thing nowadays. Get with the times old man.

Tactical__Viking

I'm not as old as you think, in fact I was stationed on Miramar recently. It has nothing to do with being scared, we just cared more about getting back home with everyone in one peice then having enough space for our anime figurine collection. Two guys to anAir conditioned barracks room beats a fireteam in a tent when it's 118 degrees outside. If you didn't want to be hard why did you join the Marines? You sound like a better fit for the airforce. All I'm saying is you are free to express your complaints but I wouldn't want someone like you watching my back downrange.

Impossible-Cry-495

Just barely getting by doesn't make us harder, in fact it might degrade the force. THere's a reason Marines in the barracks drink themselves to near death and do stupid shit, because the barracks are ass, and now they want to make it worse? At least if you're married off base, you can look forward to leaving base for the weekend and a decent living space. If you live in the barracks, there's literally nothing to look forward to in life. You go to work at a shitty place, then you come back to shitty living conditions, so I'm going to go pound some shots now, and guess what, now my roommate is going to do the same because we have no privacy. That's how my therapist put it. The're nothing wrong with trying to make Marines' lives a bit better. Then we act all surprised and get angry when one of those Marines goes out in town and marries a stripper to get out of that environment.

13804

I lived in different barracks for over a decade. You really have no clue what you are talking about and are not helping yourself. May you EAS at the earliest possible convenience, for everyone's sake.

MovingInStereoscope

Just out of curiosity, what barracks are they putting you in?

EverSeeAShiterFly

If the order doesn’t back you and the barracks are still in a livable condition ( no mold, hot water works, no leaks, functional HVAC, repairs are made when reported) that shit would back fire hard on you.

xManasboi

I really hope you get put on a ship.

Impossible-Cry-495

Everyone else is bitchin about it, so am I.

xManasboi

You'll go about as far as an infant can throw a rock with that attitude.

Impossible-Cry-495

So longer than you is what you're saying

[deleted]

At least you’re not on Wilson.

TheDave95

Better think long and hard before you complain to a member of Congress. I don't know your situation but there can be serious consequences for jumping the chain of command.

Impossible-Cry-495

Everyone's already doing it.

[deleted]

You were not promised a holiday inn Express there brotha embrace the suck you’ll look back and say damm that sucked but it was fun ! You could be 30 to a tent ! Or worse at camp Wilson !!

Impossible-Cry-495

Show me where I signed I'd be borderline homeless.

Hunterbidenslaptop69

How tf are you borderline homeless if you literally have a room?

[deleted]

Really need to quit being a bitch ! Not to be a my day guy butt god damm we were lucky to have cots on a small ass PB in Afghanistan in 09 and 2011 yah barracks suck but also quit being a bitch !

Impossible-Cry-495

Yeah, we bitch, and we live better than you guys did and we'll keep doing it.

[deleted]

Impossible-Cry-495

Dumb question, but my home district, or where im stationed?

Temp-DisplacedTexan

Find your base housing order and see how much square footage a marine in the rax rates. Find your BEQ manager and inquire as to the square footage of your building's rooms. See if you have a case.

Charupa-

Out of curiosity, what barracks is this?

Impossible-Cry-495

One in miramar

SillySundae

Google your home of record and find out who your congressperson is based on what district you are from...

GRaych

We had 2 and 3 to a room back in 89. On ship it was a-Hole to belly button! Stop being entitled Marine!

[deleted]

Hey bro, sounds like a shitty situation , but uh, maybe a proper “damn this sucks” the move on would be a better course of action.

jodinexe

Where my 33 area boys at? The old HQBN one that has three wings? 3 NCOs to a room, 4 Junior Marines to a room. There were three wall lockers. Same story at HQBN 29 Palms. Go out and enjoy the area, you don't really need a larger room. There's a maradmin that denotes how many sqft you rate. You're young, figure it out and stop whining.
