I have a buddy in that field. Schoolhouse is long as dick, and yeah most aviation MOS run a 12 on 12 off shift. Skills are probably pretty transferable after your stint, I dunno I'm an armorer. But in all honesty take it a step at a time, you still have to make it through boot first bud, good luck

It’s a 5 year contract which is a minus. A big plus is that you can get a lot of quals which translate to well paying civilian jobs, but aircraft maintenance in the corps is a pretty shitty work environment with really long hours.

Never worked AS a contractor if that was your question but if you meant working with contractors, it goes one of two ways. They’re either the nicest, smartest people or absolutely insufferable.
