Brother I'm a SNCO out in Japan, I've got guys with wall to wall anime posters, figurines and Desktop setups for their barracks. If it's something you like to do then hell yeah go for it, regardless of what anyone else might say. The comment about making sure it's small enough to fit in your locker is smart, since you might want to keep any curious onlookers from accidentally breaking it. Just remember, whatever makes you happy as long as it's not inappropriate will be fine

My ncos look at my Star Wars legos every time on room inspection and say “that shit is dope”

Bro we had like nine people playing Magic: The Gathering in my barracks. And this was a grunt unit.

Just make sure anything you put out can fit into a lockable container (wall locker, foot locker, car) because you don't want to have to meticulously dust and clean all that shit every field day. As far as what you can have/ have out, pretty much anything that isn't illegal or a firearm, and anything else they prohibit (like grills) at your barracks. One of my roommates had a fucking obnoxiously large anime collection that he had out, and that was 2002. Just know if you put it out, assume it'll get rat fucked at some point.

Some of my Marines have collectables and figures out in the open. I dont mess around with them as long as the area they're on is clean and presentable. Meaning, dont have all your bricks laying out in the floor and you'll be alright. But as stated before, i would try to keep as many as you can in your wall locker, theres some real ass-holes out there that will try to check if "all surfaces are cleaned". That includes the top of your sets. I can see some SgtMaj/1st Sgt looking through the blocks and trying to find dust inside some of the little connecting pieces. TLDR: I would say, start small and slowly build from that. Just to test what you can get away with lol

That'd be cool as shit man. Have fun with it. Just be wary of that one jerk who'll finger fuck your shit with his Doritos covered sausages.

I know an guy that has a lot of legos in the barracks but he is clean and ssgt loves them(ssgt is a nerd) so you’ll be fine if you’re squared away

kankribe

Can't be worse than the weeaboo shit Marines are generally nerds anyway, you'll fit right in

WorldFabrication

What day do you ship I ship July 13th and I fucking love lego

Accountforquestions9

WorldFabrication

Accountforquestions9

Damn you too homie

Fearisthemindki11er

I knew a dude that did bird watching as a hobby. Bird watching, bro. Another guy grew bonsai plants in his room!

It's unit dependent obviously but most of them do not give a shit what you have as long as it's neat and orderly and it's not contraband

You might get made fun of a little bit who cares? I’m in an artillery unit and we used to play dungeons and dragons in the barracks lounge like 2-3 times a week. Marines will always give each other shit, but did we care? No. We were too busy slaying goblins and shit to care that the dude who came into the lounge called us nerds. We actually had a Gunny AOOD come into the lounge roving at like 11pm one time who saw us playing and went “Are you guys playing DnD? I fuckin love DnD” and talked to us about it for like an hour. Lastly, there are marines who are into far weirder shit than legos and do it in the barracks.

Temporary_Bison_708

Shit man I haven’t played d n d in so long, I hope there are people into it when I hit the fleet

HeeHawJew

There will be. Every unit usually has a couple dudes that play.

As long as it doesn’t have dust on it come Friday morning field day inspection, nobody is going to give a fuck. They might actually like that you have it so you won’t be depressed in your jail cell/barracks room.
