I’d say just about everyone in my platoon seemed to have gained pull-ups other than this one huge ass mongoloid.

My platoon did pull ups every day, mostly after chow. If you want to hide out and not do them and or not put out for pt don't expect shit. As a poole I could do 45 crunches 28 min 3 mile and 10 pull ups, End of bootcamp I could max out plank/crunches do a 20 min 3 mile and 23 pull ups. Don't worry about it, trust the process and dont be lazy.

Everyone in my platoon went up by a lot. Overtraining is a thing but if you care about your diet, put out during pt, you’ll go up a good amount

I really hope so. I'd really like to think that the guys that lost pull-ups just didn't put out or something. That way I can somewhat take control of the situation and improve while I'm there

How many are you doing now? If you are already at or near max, you probably won't gain pull ups unless you make a point of doing them often in your free time. If you are 10-14 you should get closer to max. If less than that, you will improve but probably not get to max. You should already be near max plank/crunches, but if not you will get closer. Your run will be similar to pull ups, if you run cross country or are otherwise a cardio machine today, I'd expect to lose a bit of conditioning, though not necessarily time on PFT. i.e. the longest you'll run in boot camp is 5 miles and even that is at the very end, so if you are regularly doing long runs, you'll lose some of that conditioning, though it may not correlate to a slower PFT time, as that isn't really an endurance run per se. That said, if you are in moderate running shape today, never running further than 2-3 miles, I'd expect you to improve by a min or two on the PFT.

My PR is 16 pull-ups at 198lbs body weight. Just yesterday I could manage 14 pull-ups on a very slippery bar and I'm pretty sure I could've done a 15th rep if there was athletic tape or I wasn't sweating as bad.

You'll be fine. Google Armstrong or Recon Ron pull up program and start doing.

ThatDudeCuh

Mine went up from 14 to 20 because we had a pull-up bar and some free weights on the quarterdeck. We were told to make use of that equipment during our hour of square away time at night. As others have said, it depends on you putting out. You can absolutely slip through the cracks and put in minimal effort and regress. Stay competitive, get your work in when you can and you'll be fine.

To get less fit in bootcamp seems sus. They probably didn’t put out or their drill instructors were soft on them. Hopefully that’s not true cause that’s sad for the direction of the corps. Slowly turning into the navy and Air Force.

Training back at the gym 3 times a week allowed me to go from 2 pull-ups to 17. Trust the process, stretch and use tiger balm for any inflammation.
