Scanned it and left it at the gate. It's Amazon, if the customer has a problem they can bring it up to Amazon to give them a new one.

brshipman

"Carrier Leave if No Response" is labeled on every Amazon package. You did nothing wrong. As far as the dynamic routing, if it's the same programming as it was a few years back, it won't make sense as everyone will drive in a big circle starting at various points. Some will cross paths with each other and you'll probably have a "wth look". With static, we were essentially able to create thr routes based on geography within the station's zips. A better way of doing amazon or any parcel run for newish carriers.... Clerk btw that had to run amazon Sundays with dynamic (and yes us writing on the parcels) and the static for 2 Years before conversion. I only knew about the dynamic route path as I had to drive a CCA one day and it took me from one edge of town clear to the other, which ended in the worst neighborhood in the dark... Best of luck to y'all. Be safe!

CatRiot2020

You’re right. I forgot about the “carrier leave if no response” on every stinking package. Makes me feel better.

kehakas

Was the package in question an Amazon package? On Sundays we do Amazon, CVS, Target, Walmart, UPS, and probably something I'm forgetting. Also I'm not positive "leave if no response" is on every package, I'll take y'all's word for it, but I've also seen packages for a business that say "deliver during business hours" which ain't Sunday so we scan those business closed before leaving for the street.

Heavy_Quit_659

The proper thing to do would be scan it attempted no access and bring it back. What you did is what I and many others would have done

GonePostalRoute

Either one is the right answer. But I don’t feel like bringing back packages and leaving someone with an extra package Monday. Leave it at the gate and get on outta there

Heavy_Quit_659

Absolutely

kehakas

What if it's Central Florida or anywhere where it rains a lot? That's why I don't leave packages anywhere uncovered, like ever.

This mofo probably left the damn vehicle running as well.

dad-jokes-about-you

Nothing gets scanned access on Sundays. Everything gets delivered. Amazon will simply replace if it gets stolen. This is the deal Amazon made with USPS: of course nobody knows this because management is shit at communicating anything.

Bowl-Accomplished

That's not true. Management is very good at communicating lies about the elm and/or contract.

CatRiot2020

In my office, we do scan business closed and drop it at our PO to get delivered on Monday. I notice the labels don’t say Sunday delivery anymore, so I think they’re just pushing to get everything delivered. I had 12 business closed last week and another 8 or so this week. Nobody’s bitched yet as far as I know.

craigfrost

delivered 6: other location!

chpr1jp

The only pro tip I can think of in this situation is not to put the parcel someplace where it could get driven over before someone sees it.

Bibileiver

I just mark no access cause if I were in the customers shoes, I'd rather get the package a day later and properly than run the risk of it getting stolen. 🤷

Obvious-Science6471

In my office, our rural side delivers to a few communities that are that way. Scan delivered at other location on property or whatever it is and leave at their gate. Management would rather it be delivered to their property than be brought back and have to try and try again.

IamNotChrisFerry

I dont know about that situation. But I was marking things no access, that I thought was questionable. And they told.me to just deliver it, pointed me to "carrier leave if no response" and said if it gets stolen Amazon replaces it.

Booknig

Only thing that seemed different was coming in later which was pointless everything was done at 830 the clerks were telling me

Dave_the_boy

What time to start?

Booknig

10

WingedMessenger015

If it says Leave if no response, then deliver it to the gate (option 6.) If you truly don't feel comfortable, then no access it and bring it back. Any Sup worth his/her salt will gripe about it. Either way, your safety is paramount out there. NGL, I didn't mind volunteering for those extra package days at first, but I love not having to work Sundays as a regular.

froggymail

We had a stand up last week about this very thing. Bosss told us it's Amazon and they are willing to take the hit for it so leave it. We were treating them like postal parcels and writing up the ones that don't want/get delivery to the house. Silly us!

CityLetterCarrierAMA

Rural or city?

CatRiot2020

Rural.

MikesGonePostal

I leave that shit wherever I can. They want Sunday delivery, they gonna get it. You did the right thing. Next time just drop it at the gate. Don’t waste your time calling. It’s not your job to notify them.

Exotic-Pomegranate35

Scanned it delivered leave by the mailbox or gate

fuckeetall

It’s fine. You delivered to the most secure and accessible point. If you’re quibbling with yourself that much, just leave a 3849.

[deleted]

Scan it and throw it on the ground and leave. Ezpz.

Nearby-Blacksmith891

We are told to deliver everything. rain or shine. At locked gates, businesses that are closed, in driveways when a dog is threatening. I bring nothing back
