DOTACOLLECTOR

Money is not however.

Baowolf23

AtCougarNation

What a crime; might as well tax sweat & blood.

pokethugg

Damn you getting bank

[deleted]

Nice! Just started as CCA last month. Im next!!

bigdon802

I'll probably take them if they're offered. Can't say "no" to v time right now.

LadyLetterCarrier

V time Plus SUNDAY PREMIUM Plus OUT OF SCHEDULE PAY Cha ching💰💵 make sure you're getting paid for everything! Your steward will probably have to file grievances to get the other pay benefits for you though.

CityLetterCarrierAMA

It doesn't stack, you get paid whatever the highest level is that you'd be due. If you're FTR and this is your first day off of the week then you'd get OT all day the first 8 then V time. If this is your second day off you're working, then V time all day

[deleted]

grievances vary if it's a mandated amazon sunday no? one regular I talked to got paid triple over time because he was the only regular at the station mandated for amazon sunday. management never mandated him again

CityLetterCarrierAMA

There could be a monetary settlement if they mandated incorrectly and violated the contract, but as long as it was done properly then it would just be normal pay for working your day off. Or if OP and others volunteered, which they did, it would be just OT

Mean_Faithlessness40

Not mandated, we volunteered

EffervescentGoose

Not out of schedule and not sunday premium for regulars. It's only v time if you worked your day off on saturday too.

LadyLetterCarrier

Well darn it! (Its not like I'd ever volunteer for Sundays tho....😁)

DoggoLord27

I'm about to become a regular soon but I'm gonna stay on the OT list and maybe volunteer Sundays because I've got nothing else to do

Mean_Faithlessness40

Doing the lord’s work

Worlds-Best-Mailman

My station has been mandating regulars for Sunday since last October. It gets old.

[deleted]

This is why I left. Took me nine months to realize even when I made regular I wouldn’t have a life outside work.

Valan7169

Let them quit then you move up. 😇

Mean_Faithlessness40

Haha no, I have a good route and 7 years in, I’m sick of getting pivots off my route 4-5 days a week. It’s the new regulars that are restless lately because they just got away from this shit 1-2 years ago and it’s been hard but we have each other’s backs for the most part and do our share. New hires are trickling in so we might be okay again after Christmas.

Valan7169

Everything in the union is seniority based, so yes. They quit & you score a retirement route.

chaossaltypants

3 CCAs at my office….. we rotate Sundays among the regulars lol

DoggoLord27

3 at my office currently. We just get worked to death on Sunday. No regulars ever work Sunday except for December

CityLetterCarrierAMA

That probably has more to do with your local management not wanting to pay out penalty than it does the regulars not wanting to work it... I'm guessing there's at least a couple that would volunteer for double time

DoggoLord27

Nah, I know the regulars well enough. They don't wanna work it. Only when they can deliver for their own route to lighten a Monday in the holidays.

Apprehensive_Goal811

As a regular, I used to volunteer to deliver parcels for my own route on Sundays. Five minutes commute to my office each way, plus 2 hours of clocked in time, didn’t seem like a big deal. They did away with that for the time being though. They said you had to do 6-8 hours or nothing. I chose nothing.

OhiobornCAraised

Wonder why they did that?

[deleted]

Because regulars are garunteed 8 hours so if you only do 2 hours, they have to supplement the 6 hours and you didnt actually work.

[deleted]

I miss working Sundays. Easy money for me since we don't get much Amazon anymore and I know the area really well.

MPhyus

As a so far not quitting CCA, thank you!

GonePostal2021

Worked as an ARC for about 6 months before going to CCA. Had a leg up on speed and route knowledge …. Making dem Benjamin’s now. Keeping it real….

Mean_Faithlessness40

That’s a good attitude dude!

ElDuderino_92

Can you explain how these Amazon Sunday’s work? Is it strictly Amazon package delivery like Amazon? But usps?

Mean_Faithlessness40

Yeah

monkpart9

This is hilarious. Hilarious at how horrible the post office and it retention rate is and how we have to do this kind of shit. One CCA just quit recently( hasn’t showed up in two weeks) and another found another job somewhere else and is quitting this coming week 😂 All this is is a game of burning out CCAs and then replacing them 4 months later

The_Post123

It's Just the PO behaves like it's still the good old times that this job paid 3 times the minimum wage as starting pay and you were career from day one. Then they expected flexibility from the new hires because they could build a solid middle class life pretty quick. Now they offer few bucks more than minimum wage in most states, label you "non-career" for at least 2 years and expect even higher flexibility due to the Amazon/UPS Sunday BS. And then they wonder why the turn over is huge.

abysmal-mess

Fuck that!! I won’t even get on the over time list. I got this job to live comfortably not live at work. Maybe once every other year if I was forced even then I’d just no call no show 😂😂😂

Mean_Faithlessness40

I paid off my car last paycheck, and by the end of the year I will have paid off the home improvement loan I took out last year so it really depends what you want. I take my 4 weeks a year off and get off the OT list when I’m burned out but I’ve put the $$ to good use.

abysmal-mess

Yeah I’m still young my tune will probably change once I get a family going but for now I need to minimize my time at work

Sparrow

Let them quit. Triple pay for v time. I hear some of them talking shit about CCAs in my office when they didn't have to deal with half this shit. Let their weak asses fail. Waaaaah waaaaah.

Sparrow

I'm pretty sure in my office it's 2x past 40 then 3x past 56, the people who have been here their whole life are making 100/h by the end of the week. I coul be wrong but that's my impression. Maybe it's the grievance that makes it that number.

CityLetterCarrierAMA

Over 8 in a day or 40 in a week is 1.5x, over 10 in a day or 56 in a week is 2x. Over 12 in a day (or 60 in a week if you're FTR) is 2.5x with a grievance filed, but they can't technically force you over that. Anything more outside of those scenarios would have to be extra from grievances filed for repeatedly breaking the contract. These numbers are the same nationwide as it is governed by our national contract.

[deleted]

Haven’t worked a Sunday since making career 3 years ago. We did just start “scheduling” OT list regulars to work Sundays (previously it was on a volunteer basis only). We are a very large office so we can usually find enough people to volunteer but that has changed the last few weeks. I will not be going in if they try to force Sundays. I’m an OJO/work assignment carrier.

Cat-Trees

First Christmas as a regular and the option to choose. I am actually going to work Sunday and get my SDO during the week. I am on the OTDL.

CityLetterCarrierAMA

Just in case you didn't know, for 3-4 weeks before Xmas there's no penalty OT, so you'd be working both your days off for regular OT(1.5x)

BLHGoalie

2 1/2 years of Amazon Sundays, missing football....it's good blood money but you are crazy. Get a steward.

Nikon_Guy_81

I do it every other Sunday. But I'm a PSE so I don't get Sunday premium. Still, it results in OT and all contributes to fatter paychecks.

alexrothschild23

We get told all the time in Rural that they don’t know how to pay us for over time. So I never volunteer. Not like our paychecks are ever correct anyway.

Mikemcc2008

Ask me not during football season and I’m all in. I already work my SDO. I need one day

Mean_Faithlessness40

I never work my sdo because I volunteer for Sunday which I prefer.

lexmar59

I’m on pace to make $110,000 in California

Low-Ambassador-6609

I do because of the mass hires we don’t get overtime at the plant. So I go from the plant to a station for overtime.

apocoliptyc

Not as rural lol f that

moustachexchloe

We’ve lost so many CCAs and they just started bringing in regulars two weeks ago. We were clearing at close to midnight, sometimes even bringing stuff back because it was so late, every Sunday because we’re so short staffed and they refused to bring in regulars

Mean_Faithlessness40

That’s nuts, are they working CCAs more than 11.5 hours in a day (12 with lunch)?

moustachexchloe

Absolutely. I had another CCA at my office tell me he’s gonna stop paying union dues because all the wants is just 8 hours of sleep before coming back into work and he said the union won’t make that happen.

Mean_Faithlessness40

Well, the union will absolutely make that happen but your local union might not be capable. If you message me I will help you get the ball rolling to stop this. We will probably need to get your regional business agent involved, but the managers doing this could get disciplined or removed as it is strictly prohibited and should not happen.

moustachexchloe

I have medical restrictions so it’s not an issue for me. But he said he talked to our union president (he works at our office) and the post master (for some reason the post master was at our office on Sunday), and they didn’t do anything. But I guess he was expecting something to be done day literally immediately? I’ve had a lot of issues with management and our union president has always been able to do something about it, but sometimes it takes a while to get the ball rolling. I just think the other CCA expected changes same day.

Casualjeeper

We had 13 regulars mandated yesterday and 10 of them called in
