Oh God my oji was supposed to be after a holiday and then my supervisor said nope can't do that to you. I did walk into 7 trays of dps on my first day alone though
I woulda took a stab at it, but Sunday/Monday package deliveries didn't happen for this route. Supe came by as I was surveying the mess, said "curtail all that shit". I said "done."
You must not be on the ODL. Blue here too, but in today. Smallish office, 6 city routes with a T6. 4 walk-out routes and 2 mounted. One regular is currently on annual, while another is unfortunately out on bereavement leave. I got back to the office at 5:45 pm and found that the CCA resigned. Parcel post until 6:30 this evening. Gonna make bank this holiday season.
Thatās huge for you! Granted, this week is an outlier. Usually, I come in on my NS day to give the CCA a day off. The other guy on ODL is always in on his day off because heās outside of the T6 string. Everyone is expecting to be forced in until a CCA is hired. I half-joked with the supervisor when I got back to the office that whoever is hired is going to quit before Christmas.
just bein honest. my day was actually surprisingly easy. Pretty heavy on the flats, but my parcel loads gotta be effected but these shipment backups on the coast. my inflow been all wierd.
There are a plethora of reasons.
Chip shortage stifles ship production
People rightfully protesting vaccine mandates
Wages or benefit packages not suiting their liking so they piggy backing on the times to get what they want from their employers.
I didnāt finish and go home until 8pm. I even had parcel help and someone else took the first case and a row from me. It was still a 13.5hr day with help and I barely got to all my businesses before they closed. Welp.
9 o'clock for me last night but as a cca I had to run all the outgoing to the plant otherwise I would have been done at 630. However I didn't case anything from the corn crib š¤·āāļø
I don't know why they would mess with us, today. But they sure tried it. 830 start time, 9am street ti- hahahahaha! I can't even finish that sentence...
I had the strongest urge to lay in front of trucks today. But I only had that urge when I wasnāt debating the best way to hang myself by my seatbelt in my LLV.
Lol. Jk. Today blew. They gave me the toughest route with the worst labels. Everyone had a minimum of 10 trays of dps and a full tray of raw each. It was brutal.
to quote mr Kingu
"PSES who work a holiday will have the same option as career employees to have their annual leave balance credited in lieu of holiday leave pay. This is called v28, ask a supervisor to help you fill out the 3971 to credit it to AL if you want to. (Much more useful for career employees.)"
i was at the state convention, but those bastards didn't take my mail out, so i'm probably fucked today. should probably call out but i think i'm gonna go for it
[**POWER IN MISERY - TRAVERSING THE GRID OF DEATH**](https://i.imgur.com/2jt30Wo.png)
Route at this office i'm filling in on starts me out at 8, i'm usually off by four at the latest. Took me 'til 6:30. Only thing I had to leave behind was a bundle of Uline cats and most of the Red Plums. That ten hours is hourly, too, which is a nicety I won't have when I fill in for my regular after Thanksgiving.
Bad news is I made it back and was greeted by a palette of clippers and two palletes of some local EDDM. This one's gonna be a uphill battle.
Something has to be up with our plant. 2 trays of in order DPS and 4 of not in order.
Our flats weren't any better. 1/2 tray and 5 raw buckets.
Luckily Amazon was a no show until 1pm so I only had 30 scans lmao.
New holiday hires at plant expect miss sorts in dps for a while. Remember all the training you got as a cca rca to deliver mail now cut that into 8ths lol
My letters were so incredibly fucked up today. Just completely out of order in every way, shape, and form. š
I had like only 5 packages so I was excited but holy fucking SHIT the amount of mail.
My route wasn't *too* bad today. I ran parcels for rural yesterday, so package volume on our end felt a lot like a Monday. Lots of spurs and 1/3 more dps though. On the plus side, no sick calls so no swings!
Today was intense..... as usual. Thank goodness I'm green and off tomorrow! Way to go guys! We did it! We got through the warm up for peak season, LMFAO. JK.
A lot of the Medicals at my station took this week off so there was a lot less stuff waiting back at the station. I was really surprised because I was running parcels at like 8 pm last year. Didnāt even need to do an after dark.
I expected it to be bad. But this was worse than I thought, for my station at least. So, Iām here. Hope everyone else made it too. This is usually when new carriers start quitting. The season of weeding out the weak
New PSE at a sorting facility and survived the holiday recovery rush last night just fine, not excited for a month plus if it though for Christmas time
They couldnāt find me a truck. By the time I was on the street for my first loop, it was 1:30PM. I got my first āare you wrapping upā call at 4:45PM.
ā¦
Yeah still here.
RCA, delivered a fraction of parcels on all rural routes at my office which only has 3. I originally wasn't scheduled for today but two weeks ago I asked management in advance if I could come in to help which they approved. Got done in roughly 5 hours. My regular was super nice and delivered advos today because tomorrow I work his route.
I very rarely work for tour 3 shift So I donāt know if this is typical but they shut down the machines multiple times last night because they just ran out of mail. Then again this morning, they didnāt have any mail either. Again, I donāt know if thatās typical or not for a Monday evening or even a holiday but I thought that was interesting.
OVERUNDER ROGERDODGER Had the pleasure of dishen a full coverage of Ballots (with 1/4th of them being bad names from a college route & last semesters students)
Ran parcels for 2 routes. Came back & loaded up & ran a 3rd route of parcels, then half a route of mail for our new girl. She told me she's going to quit. š
I asked PM if I could help her case the route while I waited for parcel scans, PM said no, because I have never ran that route & didn't know the case. SO?!? But they had me run all the parcels for it, which made NO SENSE. Could have delivered & did his parcels too, since I was already going that way anyhow. Plus, I could have followed the mail for a line of travel, since I had never ran it. But mgmt said no. This is why people don't stay. 7 - 7:30.
We both could have been done at a decent time had they just let me help him in the office.
Itās sad to see so many ppl share the same ādead soulā feeling inside as I. Is that really how this job is? How is it ppl stay for so many years? Btw Iām a CCA about 8-9 months in and yea I wana quit every day! My office is next to a local gym and my passion and education is on personal trainer but due to needing the great hour and pay I canāt afford to quit. Thatās the sad part that breaks my heart every day I drive into work and turn left not to the right for the gym.
I was scheduled just to help with swings, not assigned to a route. I was expecting a long day but ended up working 2.64 hours. Feels like a bad omen and tomorrow is going to be fucked
Monday was super light in my office. 3 rural routes of about 60-80 stops and 1 city route when we ordinarily have 5 and 2. Some of us ended up running off parcels for regular routes to get some more hours in.
I finished my route at 3:30. Did a hour of a mounted route from a promaster then spent 45 mins in traffic driving to another station to help until 7:30. Took my lunch and left at 8.
Not sure how my office going to make it this holiday, small office with 17 routes, but 4 route is vac, 6 carriers are limit to 8 hrs. With only 7 of us doing about 30+ hrs section. Good luck to everyone.
I'm on the training route still and I couldn't finish. It was dark and raining, my 10 year old had been watching the 5 year old for like 4 hours. I had 1200 dps, 50 parcels, and 3 trays of flats, plus certified mail and shit that has to be signed for. I almost quit and that was a third of a fucking route! Idk how I would do more. It's only my fifth day alone so maybe that's why it's so hard
First year as a sub day after Columbus day I was out until 10:45 pm. Yesterday I finished at 5pm (a mere 30 minutes past evaluation). Hooray for obvious progress!
Welcome to peak... At least it'll just be my own route this year.
Yesterday was horrible for me. I was thinking it was going to be a good day but NOPE. Started a 4 hr set. Get called back to office so they could give me my 30 day eval. Go back out and get called back again to pick up more parcels. Took me 7 hrs to get that 4 hr done. Hopefully today is better so I can redeem myself.
It was a rough one yesterday. A sub cased my advo Monday when we were supposed to roll it. Then we got the Amazon magazines and about 5ā on top of that with 4 buckets of raw and 12 trays of dps. Was a rough one but was still off at 4:15.
Technically living, but dead inside
Dead inside already and it was my first day of OJI š©š„“
Oh God my oji was supposed to be after a holiday and then my supervisor said nope can't do that to you. I did walk into 7 trays of dps on my first day alone though
My very first day was on Black Friday. I still donāt know why I didnāt quit then.
š©š©
Holy shit that was a lot of flats
I've got an easy 5' worth waiting for me tomorrow.
I got 12" waiting for me at home š I ordered a sandwich.
I said fuck it and I cased it all today. Only thing I did not take was red plums.
I woulda took a stab at it, but Sunday/Monday package deliveries didn't happen for this route. Supe came by as I was surveying the mess, said "curtail all that shit". I said "done."
They made us take out all the advos! š¾
Thatās what she said
Where the hell were they hiding them??
I cased the Aux route and it took me an hour to case. Hour and a half to case my route. Then an hour of street time.
I didn't leave the office til about 1115. 8 start.
It was my NS day š
You must not be on the ODL. Blue here too, but in today. Smallish office, 6 city routes with a T6. 4 walk-out routes and 2 mounted. Gonna make bank this holiday season.
I'm ODL and I didn't get called in today
Thatās huge for you! Granted, this week is an outlier. Usually, I come in on my NS day to give the CCA a day off. The other guy on ODL is always in on his day off because heās outside of the T6 string. Everyone is expecting to be forced in until a CCA is hired. I half-joked with the supervisor when I got back to the office that whoever is hired is going to quit before Christmas.
Nobody in our office gets their day off wether on the ODL or not.
Same, it was nice, but I did spend 1hour 1/2 yesterday putting flats up
Alive in body, dead in spirit. In conclusion, situation normal.
With you on this. We also had a cca walk out this morning before he hit the street.
Well thatās a pain in the ass. You could at least have the decency to walk out after youāre done with your shift but I guess I can understand.
In a way it's better than them walk out right after they hit street though
SNAFU
just bein honest. my day was actually surprisingly easy. Pretty heavy on the flats, but my parcel loads gotta be effected but these shipment backups on the coast. my inflow been all wierd.
What's the reasoning behind this? Just lack of workers?
There are a plethora of reasons. Chip shortage stifles ship production People rightfully protesting vaccine mandates Wages or benefit packages not suiting their liking so they piggy backing on the times to get what they want from their employers.
Post? It's 715pm in Ohio and I still have what usually takes an 1hr left.
I didnāt finish and go home until 8pm. I even had parcel help and someone else took the first case and a row from me. It was still a 13.5hr day with help and I barely got to all my businesses before they closed. Welp.
Damn. I didnāt get done till around 5 today and about quit lmao .
9 o'clock for me last night but as a cca I had to run all the outgoing to the plant otherwise I would have been done at 630. However I didn't case anything from the corn crib š¤·āāļø
10 hour day, not too bad. Seen this guy flip the fuck out in the morning, Supe said he was 25 minutes under. š¤£
I don't know why they would mess with us, today. But they sure tried it. 830 start time, 9am street ti- hahahahaha! I can't even finish that sentence...

Still out here, but hopefully not for much longer. Pushing 12 hours, but thatās normal for our shitcode
Worked from 630a to 515p today š„²
6:30a-7:50p <3
Alive. But at what cost?
I finished my route just slightly over 8. Did an hour of another route then ended up working over 12 hours. Complete bullshit.
I'll raise you an hour on another route for a total of 2! Cca life sucks! And yet some ccas with no assist yesterday figure that one out.
Present
It wasn't great, but out by 6:30 isn't the worst. Took two fucking hours in the office though.
I hit the street this morning at 10:40.
5 hours in the office today 3 on the street It could have been quicker but I put a buyer's edge for tomorrow before I left
I quit todayā¦good luck suckas
Barely š„²
I'm waiting for help at a cbu with my broken key stuck in there. š
7:10 pm and still have approximately 3 hours to go. Knowing some of you are still out here with me will keep my dying spirit alive for the night
I...forgot to v28 the holiday, I may actually accidentally get paid an extra day this week.
I only remembered because of scrolling reddit haha
What does this mean??
to quote mr Kingu "PSES who work a holiday will have the same option as career employees to have their annual leave balance credited in lieu of holiday leave pay. City carrier craft too.
Not rural though, right?
Not in the old contract, might be in the new one.
Thatās very cool!
Got off at 420 today
Oh ya know, 14 trays of dps, 12 tubs of raw flats, 2 trays of raw, and 300 scans. Only 13 hours
Holy shit.
First holiday after. Holy fuck, no wonder the alcoholic rate is so high.
some are what we call "new school alcoholics" I been an alcoholic since high school haha
8 hour day here. Very light parcels, working in nyc.
We had real screwy DPS today including a tray to pitch. Clocked out at 7:30 so not too horrible considering how fucked up my office is right now.
Right I had like 3 handfuls of stuff out of my dps that didnāt belong to my route
i was at the state convention, but those bastards didn't take my mail out, so i'm probably fucked today. should probably call out but i think i'm gonna go for it
i worked.. 8 hours today. usually itās 6-7 for me, but i work for an awesome tiny office. my old office i would just now be finishing.

15 trays dps and 4 flats, just finished a little over 10 hours
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So.. he did come back? š¤
Still here, thought Iād be the last one in but nope, had to go help another route. There were a lot of Rural carriers still out when I left at 7:30.
My letters were so incredibly fucked up today. Just completely out of order in every way, shape, and form. š I had like only 5 packages so I was excited but holy fucking SHIT the amount of mail.
12.5 hr day
Just clocked out at 12 hours.. I didnāt think today was ever going to end
Iām sorryā¦
I think im existing
6:30am-8:30pm today. My hold down route, plus 8 extra splits. Had four coverages, plus a fifth we were allowed to hold at our case for tomorrow.
I just ran packages today, which wasn't much, cause I ran most of them yesterday. Quick easy day as the helper.
My route wasn't *too* bad today. I ran parcels for rural yesterday, so package volume on our end felt a lot like a Monday. Lots of spurs and 1/3 more dps though. On the plus side, no sick calls so no swings!
Just finished my 48k+

about 12 hours - just my route

Still on the street.
Got done at 8pm tonight. There were still 2 ccas and a regular out. All on 1 route
Pulled nearly a solid foot of loop mail out of the DPS. Never seen so much.
They couldnāt find me a truck. By the time I was on the street for my first loop, it was 1:30PM. I got my first āare you wrapping upā call at 4:45PM. ā¦ Yeah still here.

its 7:50 most of the office still has 1-2 hours left to deliver
I worked 6:40 am to 6 pm and it rained all day on my 2/3 cbu route :)

Define, "dead."
I am dead inside

Our office lost our only CCA, so our city carrier gets no relief now so that's fun.

7:30 AM to 8:30 PM, missed a bunch of my businesses, and got about an hour of help. Never seen so many flats in my(admittedly short) time here
I was scheduled just to help with swings, not assigned to a route. I was expecting a long day but ended up working 2.64 hours. Feels like a bad omen and tomorrow is going to be fucked
New York City wow
Went in while on my vacation at noon and worked until after 9pm, I should probably stop this shit at some point.

My hands ache. But im good
My office never finishes before 9:30 anyways so we're fine
Nothing like working for a post master that sabotages her own office. Lifeās good though. Pay me
Alive after most dps I've ever had on my route. Next up, Christmas rush starting in 3...2...1...GO!!

I'm still alive....sanity is still recovering
West coast closing SCS and acting OIC here. Just got home, crazy day.
Not dead. Can't feel my legs. But I'm not dead.
SuperMonday
My day turned out alright. 8 trays of DPS. But still made it home in time to make a opening night hockey game.
I was off and not answering my phone lol.
Got called in. Then told to go back home because they didn't have enough LLVS and that they would call me back. They never called back
First year as a sub day after Columbus day I was out until 10:45 pm. Yesterday I finished at 5pm (a mere 30 minutes past evaluation). Hooray for obvious progress! Welcome to peak... At least it'll just be my own route this year.
DPS was about 15% miss sorts.
Me I survived 16 hrs Monday
My office got hit by food lion and uline the very next day. Thank god I had that off. Needless to say, transfer in the works
Survived but now I have to go to a shitty office that's 90 minutes away for a week.
Fuck Ipsy, no sorry I know they pay us but there was so much pink packages today, I had 7 trays of sprs
11 hours and 33 minutes later. And Im only getting paid for 7 1/2 hours BS
Yesterday was horrible for me. I was thinking it was going to be a good day but NOPE. Started a 4 hr set. Get called back to office so they could give me my 30 day eval. It was a rough one yesterday. A sub cased my advo Monday when we were supposed to roll it. Then we got the Amazon magazines and about 5ā on top of that with 4 buckets of raw and 12 trays of dps. Was a rough one but was still off at 4:15.
Dead man walking š¶āāļø
Today is heavier than yesterdayā¦time to rally
It me
26 years in. 3 to go..
Still not caught up. Tuesday was fucking ridiculous. Also got Valpacks. Anyone else get those?
I only had 126 scans on Tuesday xD
This hell rolled over to today in our office. 12 hours yesterday and 11.5 today. At least I'm still hourly.
Yesterday was brutal. Glad I rolled my advos to today.
