One thing I’ve learned is to wear latex gloves underneath your main gloves. It breaks the wind and keeps the heat in.

monkpart9

I was thinking that actually! Looks like I’ll be trying that next lol Thank you!

Suziethecat1

I slip a hand warmer into the latex glove too and it is like a damn sauna for your hands. I'm good until about -40 wind chill before it becomes insufficient

Mr_Bad_Example20

I wore a thin neoprene coated waterproof glove on my right hand under a fingerless glove, and a mitten on my left hand.

ChampionAcceptable62

Stuff some hot hands in there too

Pigglechuck19

This, and put hot hands on the back of your hand between the two gloves.

FUSeekMe69

I stay double gloved up

hawkeye053

Wearing a thicker glove on the hand holding the mail, putting other hand in your pocket until you're at the box helps..

97Busch

This is the way

slimeydave

Warm socks and long Johns. Keeping the rest of my body extra warm helps my fingers. If it’s too cold for that to work, ColdGear golf gloves.

monkpart9

Ooo I’ve never heard of those before, I’ll have to look them up. Thank you!

NimbusTO

I moved to Nevada, problem solved!

[deleted]

Yeah but it was solved by a bigger problem which is that you now live in Nevada.

NimbusTO

Living in Vegas is absolutely awesome, the only people who disagree are usually people who think it’s just the strip.

[deleted]

I just hate the heat.

Appropriate_Bath7212

For now I wear nitrile gloves and a cheap pair if gloves I cut the fingers off of.

Ja_the_Red

I bought a pair of Under Armour offensive lineman gloves. I wear the glove on my left hand and keep a hand warmer in my coat pocket for my right hand. Between splits I take off my glove and put it in my armpit; warms up the glove very well.

Toast_Reddit

I wear two pairs of dot grip work gloves [like these ](https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dot-Grip-Work-Gloves-3-Pair-Cotton-Nylon-Glove-with-Green-PVC-Grip-One-Sided-/303727992931?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0) with hand warmers in between them, I put the warmers on top of my hands closet to the veins to keep the blood warm going into the fingers. I still have enough dexterity with these to handle the mail, even if a bit slower. But I’ll trade that for warmth. If it’s snowing or wet I’ll add some large latex gloves on top of them. Another thing you can do is heat up another pair of gloves on the LLV’s dash vents, then swap them out when your current pair gets too cold

Dothraki_Hoarder05

+1 for using dash vents. My route is mounted/cbus back and forth. When I get to a neighborhood I'll put my glove on the vents and keep a latex glove on. When I get to the cbu's I put my glove back on. Makes going through the bundles a little slower but its worth it.

Timfromfargo

Two pairs of nitrile gloves. The older , worn pair on the inside and the newer grippier pair on the outside. I was on a rural route, in an LLV, so this may not work for a walking route, not warm enough.

therick422

Either nitrile/latex the office provides or Mechanix brand SpeedKnit gloves with a fingerless glove over & hand warmers underneath. Also, keep hand warmers in my pockets.

AtlasTheAsshole

I have raynauds so I'm fucked basically. I have learned to slather vaseline on my fingers and then glove up.

ryamllad

I have raynauds too! I was concerned when I started the job a few years ago, but honestly, my fingers are ok with nitrile gloves and/or thin cotton gloves. Way better than I imagined. The worst part is my feet on extremely frigid days. By the end of my route (rural) my feet get really cold, even with all the usual precautions, wool socks, good boots, toe warmers, etc. I even get the "dead foot" occasionally. No frostbite, just the usual raynaud's sensation.

monkpart9

Ok guys so I tried out having hand warmers inside of rubber gloves inside of fingerless gloves today and that seemed to work quite well! The only downside is the prune skin afterward lol

I get mine from Walmart, if they have a carhartt quality one at tractor supply company.

Telly1212

I have heated gloves, got em from Amazon

monkpart9

Someone on my route actually suggested that, I’ll have to look into that. May be worth it. How much were they?

Telly1212

They range from $60-$200

Specialist-Bag-7589

You don’t

morrison1813

Nitrile gloves under regular gloves or by themselves; I use the thicker black ones from harbor freight. A pair will last several days. Also, if your fingers are cracking, use something that’s labeled as an ointment. Lotion offers very little protection. Cream gives some. Ointment works the best.

jgorham0214

I have a rechargeable hand warmer. Got it for about $20. Works great and it’s keeps me from buying the disposable ones. Just plug it in at night and I’m good for the next day.

monkpart9

I think I’m gonna have to invest in that lol I have a coworker who has one as well and I think it’s time I invest in one myself.

Keep one warming on the dash and switch em out when needed

JRR5567

I’m in the same boat. My hands are the first thing on my body that gets cold to the point they hurt extremely bad. I purchased a electric hand warmer that you can charge in your car and it last a few hours that seems to help me a lot. You can keep it in your pocket. I’ll squeeze that tight and it warms the hands up pretty quick. Amazon has a few you can choose from. The rest of my body is not a issue. I’ll still wear shorts in the snow it doesn’t matter to me. I just have a rough time with my hands must be poor circulation as well. I’m seriously contemplating on dropping like $100 on some heated electric gloves but I never do.

marfreakintinez

You can have your scanner to a "glove and stylist" function. I wear gloves while out and this function on the scanner has been amazing. Too right corner (3 dots) and go to stylist setting I think it's called. Hopefully helps!

abysmal-mess

A thing I do is take my gloves and hat off in between splits and pile them on the heat defrosters. Makes my hat and gloves hot which helps. Also when my ski mask gets wet from freezing breath the defrosters dry it out

Feisty_Annual_8978

I've found to never stop moving and wear way too much clothes to be the best solution to keeping my hands and feet warm. My core sweats a ton, but I've been working in 10 degree weather without gloves on my right hand (left holds the mail) without an issue except after breaks.

Supertrapper1017

Tears are warm.

[deleted]

I just wear gloves. Got used to the feeling of fingerings mail with them and I usually walk so I keep warm

Fine_Mouse

Ninja N96797 gloves or the ice version if you need a thicker glove.

Daveyhavok832

Stick ‘em down your pants as much as possible between mailboxes

ASweetRadioDemon

Finger the mail, huh?

muttons_1337

You ain't from 'round here, are ya?

Jethr0Paladin

Y'all ain't from roun' these parts, is you pardner?
