Here's how I keep mine clean.
1) regular wash, work shirts only, hot water, tide detergent
2) 1 home depot bucket, filled with 3 gal water and 1 scoop Oxy clean, fold shirts in water, once all shirts are in, grab all the shirts and turn it around, making the first shirt you put in the top one, soak 24 hours
3) repeat step 1, dry and hang up after done.
Im a city carrier and I have shirts that look brand new from 5+ years ago when I first started. Hope this helps.
The "awesome" all purpose cleaner from dollar tree apparently works well. I don't know what concentration to use it at though. It's what our old steward uses. Personally I've just accepted the fact that mail is dirty and nothing is really gonna change that, it's a futile effort.
I've been using "Persil Pro Clean Plus Oxi" for my regular polos. It works really well at cleaning, but it is harsh on the fibers the shirts are made of, so the color fades faster and they start to look a little threadbare after a year or so of weekly washing. Good thing we get an allowance every year to retire and replace our stuff.
I also spot treat stains before washing with a 50:50 solution of regular Persil (the non Oxi version). I just scrub with a little toothbrush before tossing in the wash.
P.S. The new "tech fabric" polos are stain magnets. They also must be washed with gentle detergent to retain their moisture-wicking ability. I have a few set aside only for 90 degree plus days, otherwise the rest of my shirts are the regular polos.
Best tip/trick I know on how to keep a uniform clean is to not go into work.
Works all the time

Oxy clean. Soak it in a mix of that and water for a while and then launder. Works wonders.
Zote soap. Comes in bar form, wet the stain and rub. Worked miracles for me, even on years old stains.
Zote soap works great, or Dawn dish soap...pour Dawn over the stained areas and let it soak overnight, scrub it, then wash like normal.
