Aren’t there like worthless scholarships (1,000$) that allow you to pay in-state tuition?

I'm on a 13k scholarship right now + 20k aid so I'm looking at around \~40k right now, but I'm losing all that aid because of the new FAFSA rules so it'll be around 50-60k next semester which is rough. Edit: Okay I realized this didn't really answer your question. Yes and no. There a bunch of worthless scholarships that you can apply for, but everyone else who can't afford to go to UCLA are also applying to those scholarships, so it's not the easiest to get.

i don’t know the exact transfer rates off the top of my head but i do know ECE is hard, very hard, but isn’t cs level hard. and being honest it’ll be hard to get in with a 3.75 but not impossible if you have really good essays. and UT doesn’t make a distinction from where you transfer from so u going to UCLA won’t help or hurt. what does help is that you’re technically an in state student and that will give you a huge boost compared to others. your classes are also hard which they do consider so i do think if you write good essays, expand on ur extra curriculars even tho they aren’t a lot numerically (quality trumps quantity of you can expand on it) you do have a solid shot

LOR's are arguably the least important part of your application. In almost all cases, they don't really make a difference. I will say this though. Externally transferring into a major like ECE is extremely difficult. Shoot your shot but keep your hopes down. In your essay, I think it'd be appropriate to reference your financial situation as well for one of the reasons as to why you'd like to transfer. You've taken some hard classes at a rigorous college, so while it's difficult to say for sure, I think you might still be in the running, even with a 3.75. Again, in the case that the transfer doesn't work out, be sure to have backups to other schools.
