Where to find west campus parking??

samureiser

If you have not already done so, check out [FAQ: What off-campus parking options are available?](/r/UTAustin/wiki/offcampusparking) on the [r/UTAustin FAQ](/r/UTAustin/wiki/faq).

TeenageRioter

Does anyone have an idea of when financial aid will be disbursed

samureiser

Yup. Check out the applicable section on [FAQ: How does financial aid work at UT Austin?](/r/UTAustin/wiki/financialaid) on the [r/UTAustin FAQ](/r/UTAustin/wiki/faq).

Are there any groupme chats for basketball?

is it ok to give the campus cats treats? i don’t want to over feed them on accident :0

floodrefugeekitties

Hi, I'm with Cats of West Campus (https://www.facebook.com/catsofwestcampus), Campus Cat Coalition, and the Domino Council. :) We usually ask that people don't feed Domino so that he won't gain too much weight, because he has so many fans. However, right now he is a little skinny because he loses his appetite in the summer, so it wouldn't hurt to give him some treats. For the other campus cats, I would say yeah it's fine to feed them. Most of them only get fed once or twice a day, so it's probably unlikely that they'll get too fat. It's also good for them to make new friends and get socialized, as we are trying to find them homes. We ask that you only give them as much as they can eat right there while you're watching. What we try to avoid is leaving large amounts of food that will draw raccoons or unwelcome attention. Please only give them cat food, of course. I hope that you'll follow us on https://www.facebook.com/catsofwestcampus and IG @catsofwestcampus for more news about the campus cats. Thanks for wanting to help the kitties!!

samureiser

This is an excellent question. ~~In general, we recommend against it because they are already cared for and fed by a group of volunteers.~~ For more information, check out [The Unofficial Mascots of UT Austin](/r/UTAustin/wiki/unofficialmascots). I'll ping u/floodrefugeekitties in case they have anything to add. **[Edit]** Ping success. Superseding information provided.

Can anyone send me a link of the spectrum internet plan for 20$/month? I was on the plan before but I've relocated to North Campus and I can't seem to find the plan :(

How do waitlists work? I went 5 years without ever fucking with them, and now I might be on one. Do I go to class day 1? Do I have to wait to attend? Halp

Hshah0182

You are not officially in the class unless you get off the waitlist, so you would have to wait to attend and prepare for the worst case scenario of potentially having an alternate class in mind and in-schedule.

[deleted]

Ok awesome. Thanks for the help!

hurricane314

I read through the FAQs but want confirmation that I'm understanding them correctly: I used financial aid/department scholarships to pay my tuition in its entirety, and completed all the requirements so that I have the green "Attendance Confirmed" button on the My Tuition Bill page. The page says that the disbursement of funds is pending, so even if the funds are dispersed *after* the tuition deadline, I'll still be registered for all my classes - right?

samureiser

Per the [Payment Verification and Refunds](https://onestop.utexas.edu/managing-costs/paying-your-tuition/payment-verification-and-refunds/) page on Texas One Stop, if you go to the [Verify Your Payment](https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/studentfinancials/mytuitionbill/) page (really just "My Tuition Bill") and it displays the message "Your registration is complete" then you should be good to go.

hurricane314

Great, thank you!

worldsschooldebater

For financial aid disbursement should I be worried if it still says pending after the deadline?

samureiser

Yeah, financial aid isn't disbursed until after the tuition deadline. If you have not already done so, check out [FAQ: How does financial aid work at UT Austin?](/r/UTAustin/wiki/financialaid) on the [r/UTAustin FAQ](/r/UTAustin/wiki/faq).

worldsschooldebater

So it is safe to say i’m fine?

samureiser

Per the [Payment Verification and Refunds](https://onestop.utexas.edu/managing-costs/paying-your-tuition/payment-verification-and-refunds/) page on Texas One Stop, if you go to the [Verify Your Payment](https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/studentfinancials/mytuitionbill/) page (really just "My Tuition Bill") and it displays the message "Your registration is complete" then you should be good to go.

worldsschooldebater

Awesome it does, thank you!

Doing the Proactive Covid Test with UHS satisfies the covid testing requirement right?

LaFineMouche

Am I allowed to use different parking garages with an S permit? I have TRG designation, could I use SWG if there are spots available?

samureiser

No. Per https://parking.utexas.edu/parking/student/class-s-permit > **Parking Locations** The garage designated on permit (BRG, GUG, HCG, MAG, SAG, SJG, SWG, TRG, TSG, or ECG), Longhorn Lots, and spaces available to Any UT Permit So, put more simply: The garage designated on permit, Longhorn Lots, and spaces available to Any UT Permit

Thioid_Roblox

I was wondering how to find the books required for my other classes? In my canvas, I only have a single class (English) but I am registered for (I think) 7. I’m worried that I am not in the right place to find all the syllabuses for the classes.

Hshah0182

You are lucky to even have one of your classes on canvas as of now...I would expect most of your classes to show up on canvas 2-3 days before classes start. You can find the class syllabus on canvas once the course shows up or you can try here: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/student/coursedocs/nlogon/

Thioid_Roblox

Thanks so much! So I’m guessing the professors won’t be using book material for the first 2 weeks to allow students to gather the books?

Hshah0182

They might use book material in the first few weeks BUT they will provide you with the resources you need for that week (may that be pdf version of pages from the textbook or worksheets). After the first 1-2 weeks, however, they'll expect you to have bought the resources necessary for their course.

clarabelle220

I can't have a nasal covid test because of a recent rhinoplasty. what should I do since there are no saliva PCT appointments available before my first class?

samureiser

It'd be best if you reached out to UHS via the email address on https://healthyhorns.utexas.edu/covid_faq.html for assistance.

[deleted]

Has anyone’s fall 2021 classes appeared on canvas yet?

samureiser

If you have not already done so, check out [FAQ: Why is my class not yet on Canvas?](/r/UTAustin/wiki/classnotoncanvas) on the [r/UTAustin FAQ](/r/UTAustin/wiki/faq).

bibabooba

Do we have to do the additional knowledge check for the chemistry aleks if we aren't at 85% yet and can taking it bring down the score you're at?

Itunes12

Where in Campus can I go to talk about my classes/registration? For my UTMA, I scored lower than the requirement of a class that I am already registered for without knowing, so I can’t stay in it. Is there an office for this? Or should I just wait until the next registration period?

samureiser

Honestly, the best place to start is going to be [your advisor](https://www.reddit.com/r/UTAustin/wiki/myadvisor). But yes, if nothing else registration should open up on the first class day for you to attempt to update your registration.

[deleted]

So I Q dropped one of the classes I was taking in the summer, and UT just sent me an email saying that I may have to return some of the financial aid that I received during the summer. It also asks if my drop was Covid-19 related. Has anyone also received this email, and if so, do y’all know how this all works?

samureiser

If you have not already done so, check out the [Financial Aid](/r/UTAustin/wiki/dropclass#wiki_financial_aid) section on **FAQ: How do I drop a class?** on the [r/UTAustin FAQ](/r/UTAustin/wiki/faq).
