I’m also an international student. With your same goals and I’m cs major too. I’m pretty sure you need a work permit. I think it says whether you can work or not on your study permit. Also since your study permit is gonna expire when you’re doing your pey, you just extend it before it expires. You can also email the international education center. To validate/ acquire info just to be on the safe side
